Yippee! We went indoor climbing. As the weather was forecast to be really bad yesterday we booked a session at our local Clip n Climb. It’s the second time we’ve been and once again it was super fun and great quality family time. I even did the Leap of Faith this time 😀 Definitely recommend it as a fun family activity, especially if the weather isn’t great. Has anyone else done Clip n Climb?

It’s British Science week until March 17th so I thought I would share some Science adventures! Yippee! I visited a Science museum. These pics were taken on a visit to The @sciencemuseum in London. It was an amazing family experience with so much to explore and discover for everyone. We are also super lucky to have @wethecurious_ on our doorstep. It has the UK’s only 3D planentarium! I took my little girl when she was smaller and she absolutely loved it! We are planning another visit again soon as now she is a bit older she will get more out of the experience again. I would love to hear about which Science museums you have visited and would recommend? I discovered that the UK’s largest planetarium is at the National Space Centre in Leicester. Has anyone been?
A BIG thank you to everyone who joined in our Spring adventure challenge. We loved reading all about your adventures and seeing your amazing photos. We are excited to announce that the lucky winner is @seaside_andria Congratulations! Please DM us with your details, address for posting and the name of the Yippee gift box you would like. It’s British Science week this week so I think the next challenge to join in with will be Science related 😀 Watch this space!
Hope everyone had an awesome weekend! Yesterday we had fun making a Spring tree! In the morning we had a lovely walk in the local woods to collect the sticks. There were lots on the ground as it was a bit windy! When we got home my little girl wanted to use the beautiful ribbon from some of our Yippee kits to cover the sticks and to decorate we used pom poms for flowers and pipe cleaners for leaves. You could also paint or use coloured wool to cover the twigs and other materials to decorate could include tissue paper, paper flowers or natural materials found in the wood like moss or fluffy lichen! 😀 Thank you so much to @ladybirdsadventures and @thimbleandtwig for the idea of a Spring tree!! We had a lovely family time making it. What kind of things do you enjoy and have fun making with your children in Spring?
As it was World Book day yesterday and International Women’s Day today I thought I would share a couple of books we have, jam packed full of inspirational women! I love sharing these amazing stories with my little girl and have been inspired by a lot of them myself! If you have a little boy maybe a great read for them as well to show that girls kick ass too! 😀 Does anyone else have these books at home? I’ve also seen there is a book specifically for boys ‘Stories for Boys who Dare to be Different’ by Ben Brooks. Maybe you have this one? Wish everyone awesome weekend and Happy International Women’s Day!
We had super fun at the weekend salt painting! My little girl loves this so much she’s asked to do it again this weekend! 😀 For those of you who haven’t tried it but would love to - 1. Draw with PVA glue on some paper, the thicker the paper the better. 2. Cover the glue with table salt and shake off the excess. 3. Add liquid watercolour to salt with a pipette or paintbrush. This is a brilliant STEAM activity and we feature it in our Yippee seaside box too!
Happy Pancake day!! Are you making pancakes today? You may have already made them before school! Cooking and baking are definitely not my forte but my little girl loves cooking and getting messy!! 😀 My daughter announced on the school run this morning ‘Mummy I know you aren’t as good at cooking as Daddy but you can look on the internet for the recipe’ 😂 We are aiming to make pancakes after school and it’s sure to be an adventure!

We had a picnic tea by the local pond last night, making the most of the lighter evenings and great weather. This little fellow popped up to say hello! 😀 Do you know the main differences between a frog and a toad? * Frogs have nice smooth, moist skin whereas toads have more dry warty looking skin * Toads can cope with dry conditions but frogs are rarely seen too far away from water. * Frogs often jump and toads usually crawl. * The spawn of a frog is a big clump of eggs but toadspawn is in stringy lengths We spotted some more but they were up to mischief! 😂
Wow isn’t the weather amazing! We’ve already spotted lots of bees out and about and even some butterflies! Yippee! I found some frogspawn Wow we’ve found loads of frogspawn recently. We visited Granny at the weekend and checked out her old pond where we found loads! My Mum had this pond in the ground when I was growing up but dug it up in recent years and put it at the top of the garden. Eventually it filled up with rain water and once again is home to lots of frogs, toads and newts! 😀 We also found a lot in a pond that we love on the moors, where we were also joined by some Dartmoor ponies! Has anybody else spotted some frogspawn yet?
Yippee!! We climbed another tor on Dartmoor! We had lots of fun climbing Haytor at the weekend and even found a geocache on the way up. Our little girl enjoyed writing in the log but she enjoyed the Mr Whippy ice cream at the end even more! 😀 Hope everyone had a brilliant weekend too. What did you do?
