Chris Wilson (@wiiilson93) — I dick around on bikes for a living
Big thanks to @m_motorsport157 for repairing my exhaust, Looks almost new! He's done a great job and I'm well happy. Can see the old photos (➡️) of how it was after a bit of a botched shortening and the Carta incident. Finally added the proper Arrow sticker so one less thing for people to moan at 😂😉
It's starting to look bike shaped again. New clip on, exhaust hanger and clock bracket fitted. Forks have been checked and they're straight and good. Exhaust has been sent off for repair, so hopefully get that back in the next week or so. Did find the rear tank bolt and collar managed to get bent though, least they're a cheap fix. Just need to sort a battery, tilt switch and a front wheel, might be rideable then!
Well, my day one at Cartagena didn't quite go to plan with half a night spend in hospital. Hard to see in the video, but there is a slight dip in the track I just hit with too much lean and throttle. Was happy I saved the slide but just didn't have enough time to do anything else. Hit the gravel at 100mph, then the white concrete brake markers sent me over the bars, me and the bike ended in the tyre wall. From that I was knocked out for about 35/40 minutes and a remember little bits of them cutting off my leathers and been driven to the hospital. Whether from pure luck or the decent gear I wear, I've only got some bumps and bruises and a concussion. No broken bones and my 3 braincells are all good still. At least the weather is nice to chill amd recover in now 😬😂
With a winter Trackday, comes winter testing colours! May not look it, but this is best part of 3 days of slaving away to get the fairings and the bike ready for Cartagena drop off next weekend. Really glad I went subtle and stealthy with the Paint, much better than my previous attempt at spraying. Swipe ➡️
Finally, some more progress! Bike started up sweet first time as it has been sat for about 6 weeks I think. Manual idle speed adjuster fitted, was a total bitch, don't wanna do that again 😂 Air filter cleaned and oiled. And even with a proper Ohlins preload spanner, it's still a pain in the ass to adjust, but hopefully this sorts my tyre tearing issues. Roll on Cartagena 😎
