How do you simplify + solve a big, messy problem? 🧐 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When you have lots of info, variables, and people involved — things can get crazy. Example: in the last 60 days, I’ve planned and launched 200+ pages of web content, 100+ UI screens, and dozens of internal documentation assets for my clients. Don’t get me started on how many people (and other variables) were involved. That could easily get overwhelming… and it wasn’t. Because all problems, challenges, puzzles, and messes can be solved the same way. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1️⃣ Identify and understand the problem. What stuff do you know? What do you not know? Etc. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2️⃣ Break things down into small chunks. Nothing is really one, giant blob-thing. Smaller pieces (of anything) are easier to tackle. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3️⃣ Prioritize and visualize. This could be making a list, drawing a map, making a timeline, etc. depending on the problem. (This is the “plan” part). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4️⃣ Be willing to change the plan. Occasionally ask, is the plan working? If it’s not, that’s fine! Just change it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I follow these steps for clients, it might be a content audit or content development plan. For my own business, it could be a sales process. But it’s nice knowing that what ever problem lands in my lap, I can wrangle it. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Imposter syndrome is a big topic online among entrepreneurs, and tbh... most of the advice out there doesn’t resonate with me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Most of what I see is about how to “beat” imposter syndrome and become more confident. But for some of us, that isn’t realistic (and trust me I tried). 🤷‍♀️ I’m introverted, prone to anxiety, and will never have that Gary-Vee-style confidence. It’s just not my vibe. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To me, it’s not about *beating* imposter syndrome anymore. It’s about moving through it. It’s telling myself, “this is scary and uncomfortable and ugh I’m doing it anyway.” And because I love my work, it always pays off. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The other thing that helps? Having people in your corner. I’m lucky to have an encouraging (and patient) partner @verickwayne, and a business bestie @linzitmartin who totally get it. Whether it’s a coach, friend, or meetup group, support is game changing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here’s 🥂 to all us introvert entrepreneurs out here as we quietly, slowly, and thoughtfully build our empires. Imposter syndrome and all.

“Create a life you don’t need a vacation from.” . . . Sometimes when I travel, people ask if I’m on vacation. It makes me so happy when I get to say no. I’m not on vacation. I’m just here enjoying regular life, and I don’t even know what day of the week it is. 🤷‍♀️ This is my #workfromanywhere life + business. Happy Monday.

Hi 👋 that’s me. If we haven’t met, I’m an introverted creative-type who likes solving messy business puzzles, writing, and finding the best vegan food in every city I visit. ✨ I work remotely on content strategy projects, helping tech brands create better digital experiences for their customers. I apply #designthinking to content on a large scale, and get to collaborate with crazy smart people like developers and visual designers. ✨ Before content strategy, I dabbled in a ton of different digital things, like social media marketing and copywriting. ✨ If we haven’t chatted yet, say hi in the comments! And give some love to photographer @mintjulepphoto for making me feel beautiful.

Have you ever gone to a website then got annoyed when you couldn’t find the information you needed quickly (and left the site)? I’m betting you have. And the thing is.... it probably had nothing to do with how well the words were written, or how beautiful the design was. Good websites are designed to give people the information they need, when they need it, in a structure and language they will understand. Otherwise, they’re useless. No matter how great the design is, or how beautiful the writing sounds. THIS is why every business needs Content Strategy. It’s the “why” and “when” and “where” behind content (and a lot more). It helps rid the world of crappy, frustrating digital experiences—and I’m so glad I get to do this work. 🙏 P.S. Link in my profile for my latest free resource on #ContentStrategy

Had a great week in San Diego! Doing what I do in every city... Searching for the perfect latte, best vegan food, and a place to get comfy and write. 👩‍💻 Mission accomplished on all fronts. What’s one thing you look for in every city? #digitalnomadlife

ACT NATURAL 😬 y’all I can’t pose like a normal person but I had to rep my @craziesandweirdo shirt and get my last Açai bowl in before catching our flight out of PDC. Bowls + planning out my day in Trello has been the perfect morning routine at the beach. If can set a few top priorities for the day, and then secondary tasks and “life” things I need to get done, I feel way more focused (and less stressed). Who else is a Trello / list maker type? 🙋‍♀️

🏝I have so many good memories of Mexico beaches. Collecting shells for my sweet abuela when I was little, beach parties as a teenager, and failing miserably at soccer at every age (running in sand is hard, okay?) It will always be one of those places that lifts me up. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Lately, as I’ve been working remotely, I find that if I’m stuck on a project I can almost instantly refresh my brain with a walk on the beach. It helps me with writers block, or if I’ve just been staring at a spreadsheet for too long (ehem, content audits). ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ What helps you get unstuck in your workflow? Is it a physical space? Activity? Mindset shift? Let me know. 🙏

Austin is cold and I’m missing beach vibes + weather. So crazy how environments can affect us so much. I definitely feel my best self in the sun and when I make time for things that fuel me, like martial arts and plenty of time alone (introvert problems). What is your ideal environment and why?

Endless summer 🌴✨Happy about time with the Cámara girls in Mérida, silly photoshoots, reading, and this beautiful weather in Playa del Carmen right now. ________________________________________Also — Feeling full of gratitude for my life right now. In the last two years I have struggled as a freelancer, thrived as a freelancer, took a corporate job, left a corporate job, and am currently out here just chasing sunshine and staying in my zone of genius. All the moves I’ve made have taught me a lot, and I’m excited to keep learning + put my skills to good use in 2018.

Favorite things about airports ✈️conversations with strangers, duty free shopping (I know it’s not really discounted but it’s fun, okay?!), and reading magazines on the plane. That satisfying sound when they stamp your passport at immigration is pretty great too 😁 #travelmoreworryless#latergram

#selfcaresunday 🌙 I took this today and originally wasn't going to post it. I liked my hair and felt pretty, but didn't want to be one of "those girls" who posts selfies. ... Then I remembered I don't care what anyone thinks, that it's okay to be visible, and that appreciating your own face is probably something we should all do more often. _________________ What are your #selflove wins or struggles? Hi! I have something for you... ✨As a content strategist, what people ask for help with the most is their "About" page. But I know that not everyone with a website can hire a professional to help. If that's you, I've created a free guide giving away the exact content outline I use to write About pages that convert like crazy. I'm so excited to share what I know to help more people create authentic content that supports their business. Grab the guide in my bio and let me know what you think 👉@veronica.avo
