Gorilla Trekking is a most unusual and highly desired wildlife experience in Africa; considered by wildlife enthusiasts across the globe as the number one human-animal encounter. Mountain Gorillas only exist in the Virunga Range which runs through the countries of Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. And Eastern Lowland Gorillas (the Grauer’s gorillas) are found only in Kahuzi-Biega National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Each of these countries has invested a lot of efforts in terms of time, money and energy in conserving the remaining around 1000 primates. ©Satisfied client Katrina. Photos&Videos©Dr Ihor Junior. He is one of the two first tourists to trek gorilla and hike active volcano Nyiragongo in Virunga National Park after 9months of the Virunga being closed to tourism. His passion to visit Virunga made him wait 15 days in Rwanda before the Virunga National Park re-opens. He told us that someone in Botswana told him: " If one day you get the chance to visit Virunga, do it". After the tour, he said he cant regret to have spent many days in Rwanda just to wait for the reopening of the Virunga. It is true that Virunga National Park is a mysterious land, if you get the chance to visit, do it. We'll be happy to listen to your story... . . . . . Mountain Gorillas trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Thanks @alevidalb
Mountain Gorillas trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Thanks @alevidalb for having booked your tour with us. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is another home to the remaining mountain gorillas in Uganda. Located in the Virunga Mountains and encompasses three inactive volcanoes, namely Mount Muhabura, Mount Gahinga, and Mount Sabinyo. In altitude the national park ranges from 2,227 to 4,127 m (7,306 to 13,540 ft) and is part of the Nile River watershed area. It is contiguous with Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park and the southern sector of Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The volcanoes’ slopes contain various ecosystems and are biologically diverse, and their peaks provide a striking backdrop to this gorgeous scenery. Have you ever asked yourself if it is safe to do gorilla trekking? Gorilla trekk
Have you ever asked yourself if it is safe to do gorilla trekking? Gorilla trekking is considered safe in comparison with other wild animals. Actually, tourists visit families that are habituated. A gorilla habituation is the process where wild gorillas get used to the presence of humans. However, before you are allowed to venture off into the forests of Africa in search of the rare and endangered species, each and every tracker is subjected to a briefing at the park headquarters outlining how you should behave. Gorillas in the wild are not considered dangerous, as long as they are comfortable and relaxed. The park rangers are very specific with regards to the critical distance of 7 meters – this is the closest the trackers are permitted to be when observing the gorillas. No food or drinks are permitted to be consumed in the presence of the silverbacks and their families. Staring into the eyes of the gorillas is not permitted as it may be misunderstood as an act of hostility. If a gorilla comes close up to you, you must not run, but sit very still until the gorilla has moved away, crouching and acting in a submissive way is your best course of action ( submission in front of an animal, I like this). Speaking quietly while tracking gorillas is a must, as well as not making any sudden moves; these can be seen as a threat to the gorillas. When taking pictures, one is not permitted to use a flash, since that will most probably startle the gorillas, who may charge. Can gorillas deliver twins babies? Normally gorillas have just one baby at a tim
Can gorillas deliver twins babies? Normally gorillas have just one baby at a time. Twins in Gorillas are so rare than in humans. Baby gorillas are so fragile. It is said that 25% of single infants die during their first year of life; it is possible to expect the rate for twins to be just as high if not higher. Raising one baby is not easy for the mother, when it comes to twins, imagine what are the challenges a gorilla mother faces. They usually use their arms to support infants until they are strong enough to grasp on tightly by themselves. With twins, gorilla mother may need to use both arms to make sure the infants are secure, which could make walking difficult. Do you want to have a life changing experience with the gorillas, contact us: info@ubuntuvoyages.com Ubuntu Voyages wishes you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. . . . . . . #gorillas#gorillaz#gorillatrekking#wonderlusting#friend#safaris#vacations#bwindiimpenetrablenationalpark#igers#travelgram#instatravel#destination_wild#passporttravel#adventuretravel#followme#traveltolearn#luxurytravel#budgettravel#conservation#love#animallovers#travelblogger#photography#travelinfluencer

©@li5ky In one of my posts here I argued that the protection of gorillas in the Democratic Republic of Congo requires the restoration of security and State authority. Today on the #worldgorilladay I repeat this plea. With a weak state in the DRC, both gorillas and humans will be in danger. We find mountain gorillas in the Virunga National Park and lowland gorillas in the Kahuzi Biega National Park but we also find many other rare species in these parks. Researchers at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in Cambridge found that our genes and those of the gorilla are 98% identical, although we share around 99 % of our make-up with chimpanzees. Now Virunga is closed to tourism until next year 2019 because of insecurity; however Kahuzi Biega is still open to tourism. Join us in our campaign ‘tourism for peace in the DRC’. You can join our campaign by visiting the DRC, by posting an article about the DRC in your blog, etc. Kindly let us know how you can be of help. Rolling house😂. With a population of over 78 million (and it still growing), the Democratic Republic of the Congo has a housing deficit estimated in the millions of units. According to UNDP projections on population growth in the DRC, this deficit will only grow larger given the average annual population growth rate estimated at 3.1%, fueled by a fertility rate of 6.30 infants per woman. Because of war and insecurity in villages, many Congolese migrate to cities where there is a temporary calm. This makes cities overpopulated in the DRC and has led to the development of slums in suburban areas. Housing has become a serious problem. And with extreme poverty, it is common to see people moving with their houses. Or if someone wants to build a new house, they can sell their old one to another person who will transplant it to another place. . . . . . . . #rollinghouse#beautifulhouse#funnyvideos#lough#loveafrica#instago#instratravel#passporttravel#traveladdict#travelgram#wonderlust
