•It’s been nearly 5 months since I moved in to this place. It’s also been about 5 months since I’ve laid eyes on the possessions that are most important to me.•Photos. Books. Cameras. Art.•Last weekend I promised myself that I would make this place look like I actually live here.. just in time for the New Moon.•Sending a special thank you to @monawolfgoods / @mouseinadress ,for hunting down so many truly incredible treasures for me (and for so graciously hanging on to them for months and months). I appreciate you so much, and I’m extremely grateful for your friendship & kindness. 🖤🕸🖤 Also featured on my little wall are gorgeous works by @svrvinissvn , @nyxturna, @schwarzkopfnonne & @muddysunsets , 99% of which I seemed to have found by way of @ritualcravt . Happy New Moon 🌚
I painted this last night during/for the balsamic moon... it’s probably the phase of the moon that I connect with most right now. It’s said that during the balsamic moon, withdrawal from the outer world is necessary... and I’m a pro at doing just that.
Dog vs. Dias (one of my taxidermy birds). This is all that’s left of her. I suppose I’ll have to mount her in a frame somehow... she does look so lovely resting on my beloved journal. I’m grateful that her wings weren’t destroyed. I’m not ashamed to admit that I cried a little when I found her splayed out all over my bedroom floor. • •• ••• •••• ••• •• • I recently used my leather punches to add my favorite Latin phrase “Verba Volent, Scripta Manent” to the closure tab of my journal... that translates to “spoken words fly away, written words remain”.
After a month of living here, there’s finally been some time to start doing the smallest of things, like painting and unpacking more than just essentials. The inspiration for the bedroom colors comes from the two large crystals (fluorite & amethyst) that I found in the backyard. I’m pretty pleased with how it’s coming together (and I love the black paint!)... just need to get some art on the walls 🔮 (almost e everything pictured came from either @ritualcravt in Denver, including the grey salt lamps, or @ballyhoo.curiosity in Seattle)
The trail right next to my house is lined with huge, beautiful trees. Lately, there has been an insane amount of cotton floating through the air... during “golden hour”, the cotton illuminates & the trail transforms in to something magical. (It’s nearly impossible to capture on video... but I tried 🙂)
H•O•M•E • •• ••• •• • The last few weeks have been absolutely exhausting... but in the end, totally worth the sleepless nights, soul crushing stress, and sore muscles. I didn’t expect to feel the way that I do, just by relocating a short distance. My new home is nothing fancy & it needs a tremendous amount of work and remodeling... but I feel genuinely happy & beyond grateful to be here. I feel like this move is an opportunity for me to make a fresh start...to begin working on some of the goals I’ve had for a long time, but have made little effort to achieve. Thank you to those of you that have had my back in the recent months, when I’ve needed you the most. You know who you are, and I really hope you know how much I appreciate you.
