AD: I had always felt drawn to the analog controls and timeless styling of an old 911, and a few years ago I was finally ready to take the plunge. I purchased this 1980 911 SC in 2016, as a last-second bid on a big online auction platform that doesn’t specialize in cars. The color was right, and the price was right, but everything else was completely unknown. It turned out mostly okay, but there were a lot of annoying mechanical issues, and it would be a stretch to say the car arrived “as described.” If I were shopping for this car today, I would be better off browsing the new @HemmingsAuctions, which auctions only the best, most carefully-selected classic cars. #HemmingsAuctions#Ad
A New Era (Pt. 3) . When I bought my 911, I titled the first post of it with ‘A New Era,’ and then I did the same thing again once I had finished tweaking the car’s aesthetics. Both times I posted the white G-Model 911 from the same angle, which happened naturally because it just looks so *right*. So it seems fitting to continue the trend after finally visiting the Porsche Museum and seeing their white G-Model 911 mounted within the Gerry Judah sculpture out front. It’s been an incredible week in Europe doing Porsche things, but it’s time to head home. #porschemoment#minimalcar#minimalcar_mag
It’s always a shame when these trips end. Today we arrived in Portland, our endpoint, 2,440 miles and eight days after we started in Portland. The car performed superbly, and we never tired of this polarizing color. I like to think that Phoenix Yellow gives the E46 M3 a heightened sense of occasion and exclusivity that this car always deserves, and it’s the perfect addition to @dslovn’s collection. I feel lucky to have great friend and incredible opportunities. #dnkm3peat
