The remains of an ancient river system cutting through the outer Great Barrier Reef. These channels formed mostly when sea levels where lower or receding, cutting into the large coral reef structures and leaving behind these beautiful patterns and shades of blue. @tobiasvisuals 📸

I had hundreds of encounters with monkeys but they never fail to surprise me in so many ways. Like this little one using one hand for eating, one foot for ear itches, and one hand and foot to balance it’s monkey bum on top of that pointy stick😱, ... all that while sunbathing and spotting more potential food sources from bypassing tourists. What have I learned? Never make stick bread in monkey territory. 🔥🍞💩 @tobiasvisuals 📸

When I made my way down the bumpy road to the famous Kelingking for sunset I admit I was thinking more about my way home in the dark with this half broken scooter than about anything else. However, when I arrived I realised immediately how lucky I got as only a couple of people were left and about to leave too. I decided to stay and soon I was completely alone with one of the best sunsets I’d ever seen. 📸 @tobiasvisuals 📸 Ps: if you do this track at night make sure your scooter has good working lights 🤣🛵🌒

You are looking at a rare image of the Tukad Cepung Waterfall without someone in it ... I actually almost missed my flight over this shot as all the water in the air made it difficult to get a clean shot... then just when I had to leave the sunlight started shining through that hole into the misty cave. @tobiasvisuals 📸

Few things break to push forward and make turbulence look elegant. All waves you see incl. the ones travelling up to 1000s of kms across the worlds oceans, most likely caused by the friction of wind on the water surface, are foremost energy being transmitted across the seas and not water. Waves are therefore basically disturbances which transfer energy from one place to another without requiring any net flow of mass. This image was taken in Nusa Penida at one of its many beautiful coastlines. - wondering where those waves originated from @tobiasvisuals 📸 Ps: for scale, there is a woman standing on the rock (right side of palm tree)

Waiting for the first sun rays of the day, a macaque monkey is sitting in the tree canopy high above the clouds. Surrounded by volcanoes, ash and volcanic rock I believe his face is so dark because of rolling in the ash while playing. @tobiasvisuals 📸

Happy new year everyone! ☄️💥🎆🎇 I wish all of you an amazing 2019! I start off in 2019 with a shot I took at first light of a volcano (Mount Agung) from a volcano (Mount Batur), both of which are active. Despite this a rather large community farms among the rainforests right at the base of these sleeping giants. For fertile volcanic soil and the fresh water from the nearby crater lake they are willing to take the risk. It felt surreal driving through lush green rainforest communities and then suddenly vast areas of almost nothing but black volcanic rock and ash. It was intimidating beauty. 📸 @tobiasvisuals

#2018 you will always have a special place in my heart. Sometimes I hated you but mostly I loved you! You gave me many challenges but provided the friends that I needed to come out on top. You took me across sand, mud, snow and water, underwater and the air. Surrounded by rain, sun, snow and fire you kept me warm, burned me, kept me cool and made me freeze and I am grateful for each moment. You showed me breathtaking landscapes and gave me nerve tingling encounters with the wild, you provided unforgettable experiences which I got to share with amazing people from all over the world, people I am fortunate enough to call friends. Friends and family were your biggest gift of all, as they gave me strength and support when you took away my home in a surprising ‘plot twist’. (for Australians only: “fuck me dead”) To 2019.. the search for a new home, I am ready! I know I have not been very active on social media in the past 6 months. I’ll be honest, I am not the biggest fan of social me... bla bla bla bla... You get the story. I’ll try to share more of my work with you, hoping to show you our mesmerising world through the eyes of a nut case (checking who actually read all this ). THANK YOU for supporting my work and projects! I hope you’ll have an amazing launch into #2019

Encountered the cutest and most curious Remora (suckerfish) checking out our dive masks for either its reflection or suitability as a transport opportunity. Remoras are often seen with sharks and rays. Enjoying a mutualistic relationship with them, Remoras benefit by food availability and the shark/ rays etc . stay cleaner and get their parasites eaten of their skin. 📸 @tobiasvisuals . . . . . #discover#northqueensland#explore#exploretnq#australia#visitqueensland#visitaustralia#adventure#picoftheday#pictureoftheday#underwaterphotography#remora#gbr#greatbarrierreef#greatbarrierreefqld#portdouglas#fish#sunrays#coral#coralreef#padi#diving#scuba#scubadiving#tobiasvisuals#ocean#saltwater#coralsea#discoveraustralia

I am back online! .. and I got heaps of images to share with you guys. Here is one of a wetland area I took recently. I am in love with aerial images of wetlands, nothing compares to it. Every image is unique as the landscape is alive with plants and always changing water levels their patterns are ever changing at a fast pace. If you look closely you might be able to find a group of cattle from the nearby farm 📸 @tobiasvisuals
