Audiences all over are about to learn what comic book fans have known for a while, that Miles Morales is a great character. He fresh yet familiar, without being just a copy of Peter Parker. He is as much Spider-man as Peter is. Everybody to go see “Spider-Man: into the Spider-verse.”
When I was a kid, I loved Spider-Man more than anything else. Until one day I was watching a VHS of the 90s animated series and Daredevil showed up. Growing up I continued to read about him and only became more enthralled with the blind lawyer from Hell’s Kitchen. He was no longer just cool looking to me, he was a truly interesting character. His philosophy, his short comings, and his heroics will always stick with me. Stan Lee co created Daredevil alongside Bill Everett. Everett died long before I was born, but Lee died today on November 12, 2018. I would have loved to thank Stan Lee for Daredevil but I sadly turned down that chance a few years back, thinking about that saying about meeting your heroes. It doesn’t keep me up at night or anything, I’m content with my choice, but I would have loved to have that conversation. Stan Lee showed me what a man without fear looks like, and for that I’m eternally grateful.
