“We somehow came together, for a night of stormy weather Now there's a little bit of class in this old cowboy There's a little bit of cowboy in the lady” -John Denver . Our engagement photos today were a frozen DREAM! Thank you so much to @iwhackquacks for shooting, @dede_kaiya for being the best assistant, @kathryea for altering my dress, and of course @glodski for entertaining any of this. . The cowboy and the lady has been a constant theme in our relationship and these photos perfectly portrayed it. Now excuse me as I bundle up forever after those freezing temps! ❄️😂🏔

Old Faithful. Geysers are rare features on Earth; only about 1,000 of them exist and more than half of those are located in Yellowstone. The geyser’s fountainlike columns reach heights averaging about 130–140 feet. This image was taken at midnight in freezing temperatures.

The Grand Prismatic Spring. Its colors match the rainbow dispersion of white light by an optical prism: red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. The colors produced by the bacteria are determined by the temperature and depend on the ratio of chlorophyll to carotenoids present in the water. In the center of the spring the water is so hot that the bacteria is not able to survive, whereas the temperature gradually drops towards the edges. This explains why the dazzling bright yellows, fierce oranges and deep reds only appear around the edges while the deep blue remains confined to the centre.

It felt like 3° outside and we jumped in this river... on purpose. I asked a couple on our hike down to the Boiling River if it was worth it. They both nodded back with frozen hair and rosy cheeks. Honestly though, I wasn’t convinced – not yet at least. Next to the river we began taking off layers and layers of clothes down to our swimsuits. As the frigid wind touched my bare skin I wasn’t convinced – not yet at least. We dipped our toes in the water and began to walk down slippery rocks ankle deep where icy water mixed with hot water until we reached the perfect temperature. Sitting neck deep soaking in the hot spring and with ice forming on the pom pom of my beanie – it was totally worth it.

Sunrise stampede. As our weeklong trip in Yellowstone came to an end, we made our way through the park to begin our long journey back to Arkansas. I had my camera ready just in case we got a pretty sunrise, but wasn't very hopeful as clouds and snow were in the forecast. But in true Yellowstone style, it proved the forecast wrong, if only for a few minutes. As the sun rose it painted the sky and snow with cotton candy pastels in blue and pink. And just when I didn't think it could get any better, a herd of bison began running up the hill in front of us. What a way to end a trip. #yellowstonenationalpark#bison#buffalo#winter#sunrise

The first U.S. President to visit Yellowstone was Chester A. Arthur in 1883. In 1884, only 24 bison remained in Yellowstone National Park, 325 in the United States. Conservation in the early 1900s allowed the population to increase again to over 1,000. Today there are around 4,500 bison in Yellowstone.

We never, ever get tired of bison. This one was waiting for oncoming vehicles to stop before crossing the road. At its own pace of course... In the winter especially we give them plenty of time and space to cross, to avoid making them run and burn excess energy they desperately need to survive to spring. This photo was taken from a distance with a telephoto lens. #ayellowstonelife#ynp#yellowstoneforever#experienceyellowstone#yellowstonepledge#yellowstonenationalpark#yellowstonenorthernrange#nationalparkgeek#visitgardinermt#yellowstonecountry#thatswy#wildlife_lovers#animal_captures#wildlifephoto

I just found this from our trip to Yellowstone National Park in 2017. This was our maiden voyage in our RV with some of our best friends and their family.... three weeks off the (social media) grid in the great outdoors was SO good for my soul. Now I’m dreaming of our next RV adventures and back to devising a plan to spend summers in Montana. The weather was pure magic and the scenery we saw was unreal. Take me back! . Where should our next RV adventure be? 🚎🏔🏝🛣

Found this amazing infographic on the wolves in Yellowstone National park. I was taught in detail about how much of a positive impact wolves have had on Yellowstone national park in university and about successful wildlife re-introductions. The wolves in Yellowstone national park are the most famous and most successful wildlife re-introduction in America and a truly successful conservation story. Check out the links below if you want to read up on the topic: ➡️https://www.yellowstonepark.com/.amp/things-to-do/wolf-reintroduction-changes-ecosystem ➡️http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20140128-how-wolves-saved-a-famous-park ➡️https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_wolves_in_Yellowstone ➡️https://www.cbsnews.com/news/the-return-of-wolves-to-yellowstone-park-60-minutes/ 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺 #wolves#wolf#wildlife#conservation#wildlifeconservation#conservationsuccessstory#successstory#reintroductions#rewilding#usa#usanationalparks#nationalparks#america#wolfdog#wolfhound#yellowstonenationalpark

Undisturbed Fox⠀ We found this fox a few days ago in Hayden Valley walking slowly towards us about 40 yards off the groomed road. We stopped our snow-coaches about 200 yards away from him so 8 of us could get out, set-up, and meter without disturbing him. As we were setting up, he stopped walking and instead curled up for a nap about 75 yards away from us. We slowly, quietly, and respectfully approached, watching for any change in behavior and finally stopped when we were about 35 yards away. There was no reason to go closer because everyone had large telephoto lenses. We were all able to get wonderful, intimate, natural portraits of him without altering his behavior. That is what I call a successful session!⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ #cindyworkshop#redfox#fox#foxes#redfoxes#vulpesvulpes#canid#canids#thecanidproject#haydenvalley#yellowstonenationalpark#YellowstoneForever#YellowstonePledge#nationalparks#findyourpark#nanpapix#wildlifephotography#instanaturefriends#allnatureshots#nakedplanet#animalonearth#wildlifeplanet#splendid_animals#animalelite#marvelshots#EarthCapture@bbcearth#featured_wildlife#wildlifeonearth#live_love_wildlife#discoverwildlife

Photo by @michaelclarkphoto // @richiegrahamphoto exploring a ridge above Tower Junction in Yellowstone National Park last week. Skiing around in Yellowstone was one of the coolest parts of our experience out there. It was frigid to say the least but the biting cold and crusty snow didn’t really dampen our spirits. The Lamar Valley, below Richie in this image, is famous for the incredible array of wildlife that can be seen from the road. That valley was also where wolves were reintroduced to Yellowstone back in 1995. #yellowstonenationalpark#yellowstone#wyoming#lamarvalley
