Finally... we have movement! 😁 Week 5 of Foot Injury (physio visit Friday). And altho not 100% over this heinous chest cold (it's one of those lingering ones) I feel so much better... so better in fact I tried some gentle cardio! 😊 Let me tell you about the word gentle - I have no idea what it means... Expectation: Just an introductory 10 miles on the WattBike, some weights and a session of Core Blimey... 🙂 Reality: The moment I hit the Wattbike I just kept pedalling... the tunage was banging... and I was my happy crazy self... Erm so rode for just under an hour and ten on Wattbike (21 miles), did 15 minutes on the Elipse Machine and 40 minutes of Core Blimey! 😳 Aftermath: Felt bloody great! 😊 Feel Good Inc Brings You Run Happy (and must research and study the definition of gentle and easing into it... because both are such alien concepts! 😂) 😉

I’m not where I want to be, but the only way to get there is to keep on moving. It’s funny to look back and think of when I could run 5 miles on the treadmill 9:00 min/mile pace without having to stop, and now I freak out after half a mile at 10 min/mile pace because the apartment treadmill tells you distance in a track circle on the display. 🙄 it’s silly, and I shouldn’t let it get to me but for whatever reason that darn treadmill is going to be the death of me. Even with errands and a trip to the gym we managed to have a wonderful day together in one of the hardest seasons of our lives. My life lately seems like one big catastrophe after another with a bunch of being overwhelmed in between. But I told Niles last night that E and I WILL have a good day today. And we did. Newest baby nugget and I went for a run on the dreadmill because it was 25° outside. First HIIT workout in the bank after Mark was born. It is my goal to get stronger in 2019. I want to strengthen my muscles instead of focusing on long distances like the marathon. I didn’t have much time today so a 20 minute HIIT workout was good enough for now. Charlie loved watching and imitating the moves, it melted my heart. I’ve learned that I can’t just write things down on a to do list anymore because I have so much going on that if I don’t organize it enough, I’m too overwhelmed. I’ve started to write a to do list for things I can do when the kids are awake and what I need to do during nap time. Other tasks took priority during nap time today so Charlie was with me during my workout. I didn’t hate it though 🤗 it was entertaining to say the least. Tell me what your favorite at-home workout plans are! I don’t have any equipment except a treadmill so I’m limited in what I can do but if the workout is THAT good I may just have to purchase weights. Let me me know!

Learning that a. its just food- it shouldn’t control me. . And b. that if I wouldn’t allow that relationship in my life why would I allow it in my food. . @chevronhoustonmarathon 1/20/19: A day later post but it’s taking me a bit to process the day! The past 16 weeks of training has been the most intense for me. Trying to nail paces out of my comfort zone, especially on my long runs. My coach/mentor gave me a plan for race day a few weeks ago and I told him no way! The paces were insane! I waited until race morning to decide if I wanted to run the plan. And of course the weather couldn’t have been more perfect for running a marathon!! I leave Houston with a 14min PR from last year finishing with a 3:37:59. I’m not going to lie...that was crazy hard! I felt good all the way till the very end. The last 5K my legs wouldn’t go, I couldn’t catch my breathe and my pace was slower. I had nothing left in me but the last stretch is the most exciting, seeing the finish line and everyone cheering! I have to say I left it all out on that course yesterday. And I do not want to try that again (as far as that finish time). 😂 I had absolutely no intentions to shoot for a BQ time once the qualifying times were changed for 2020. So maybe Boston in April 2020 🦄 if my time is accepted. I can’t thank my family, friends, Coach and coworkers enough that have supported me the last several months...all my craziness!! Houston...again you never disappoint!! Love love how well supported the race is! BEATING ME —————— Yesterday I ran 10k, no picture and no post. I spent most of that run beating myself up and questioning myself. Far from ideal... If I’m honest yesterday I was tired, no exhausted from and amazing weekend at the @nationalrunningshow with @fitcetera and @powvirtualrun. Also suffering some post show blues too ————— This evening I ran 5k, determined to get back on track mentally and be strong. Tonight’s run served its purpose and I am feeling on top of the world. Winter is coming, we know what’s coming with it. -Jon Snow 🥶 I don’t think he necessarily meant treadmill time, but that’s what winter arriving means to me. I’d rather run in 80° weather over anything below 40° any day! I did manage to get 4 miles on the road and I’ll get another 2 on the treadmill later. I’m trying to increase my mileage slowly to make sure these hip and knee issues are gone, and so far I’ve not had any pain (knock on wood). Medal Monday! Yes, I’m still on the Disney high. I also just wanted to share some more pictures of the Dopey Challenge 🙈. I knew I wanted to get a picture of all the medals in front of the Castle and Nick was such a trooper about coming with me. Pretty sure he logged close to 100 miles over race weekend once you count all the miles walking in the parks. 🏃🏻. Not going to lie, having a front row seat to all the training days as well as the 4 days of racing makes Dopey even more intimidating. Still can’t wait to do it though! I think something might be wrong with me 🤪. Anybody else tentatively thinking Dopey 2021? (Giving myself this year to see how the hip does before I commit to anything in 2020). If so, let me know!
