1 whole year ago today! 🏅🏅🏅 . I became a #marathoner and I chose the Hong Kong 2018 marathon to be my first 😊🇭🇰 . What a great day, upon reflection, I trained, and I trained hard. A lot of miles trained in sub zero Scottish winter conditions, so to go to a race that was 29c and 90%humidity was a tough challenge let alone the small matter of running 26.2 miles! 💪🏻 . Hong Kong I ❤️ you . Still can’t believe it, and im no where near done yet! My training for #vmlm2019 is well underway with 96 days to go.🇬🇧 . Awkward penguin hands! 🐧👋🏼 Goodness knows why I’ve adopted IG as my preferred mode of social media, I’m so rubbish at taking Insta-worthy photos it’s almost funny! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 Aaanyway, today marks my first run-jog-walk-hobble in... 10 months?!😱 And man, it really felt like I hadn’t ran in years! 🧟‍♀️ Hubba outpaced me by a long shot. (Which goes to show, consistency & effort beats whatever god-given advantage one might have.) It’s been so long since I ran that my fancy schmancy rose gold Fenix 5 watch was completely flat, but I’m pretty sure I hit a heart rate of close to 182 at certain points! 😵 And y’know what got me going tonight? The anniversary of my Spotify subscription aka my 🎶 running buddy. Which confirms my conviction that having yearly reminders or records of fitness related milestones, no matter how small & insignificant, are something your future self will thank you for - either as a remind of what you’re capable of (if ya fall off the wagon at some point) or as an encouraging reminder of how far you’ve come. (If you hit a plateau and start losing motivation). 被低估的拗柴 Underestimated ankle sprain . 從來都覺得拗柴是個經常被低估的運動創傷。大部份跑手或運動員都應該會經歷過拗柴,有些人康復過來,但為數不少卻有人「拗開有條路」。拗開有條路許多時是因為運動員低估了拗柴嚴重性,研究發現超過一半人拗柴2-12個月後仍然受傷患影響,但卻為數不少人拗柴後不會找物理治療師或其他醫療專業。 . 拗柴後除了因韌帶強度減低而令腳腕關節減少穩定(mechanical instability),亦會影響肌肉對關節穩定的控制(functional instability)。如果沒有適當復康運動訓練,造成慢性腳腕不穩(chronic ankle instability),大大增加再拗柴的風險。 . 我經常同拗柴的跑友講,切勿因爲平時生活沒有痛而不再治療,因為沒有足夠練習腳腕穩定性,除了大大增加再拗柴風險,更會間接引致許多下肢勞損問題(脛後肌肉勞損、偏平足、腳腕關節骨刺增生、膝痛)。 . 分享兩個運動,還望拗開有條路的各位跑友多做多做,新一年不要再拗柴了。 1️⃣ Star excursion balance training 2️⃣ tiptoeing on foam .
