The five things you SHOULD NOT be doing if you want a killer physique (both men and women) - Please like ♥️ and share my post if you find it valuable 🙏🏼 - DON’T: 1. Eat very little food, go on a very low calorie diet 2. Eat little or no protein 3. Do little or no weight lifting 4. Do excessive cardio 5. Think that pills, detox teas, waist trainers or the like work (they don’t) - Engaging in the points above will most likely make you miserable, tired, hungry, and counting the days until you can get back to “normal” life. You also run the risk of getting fed up and throwing it all to hell. Even if you do lose the desired weight, you will most likely end up “skinny fat” - which basically means skinny with a flabby or untoned body. - The key to a toned, athletic physique is to be lean but also have muscle on your frame. Don’t starve yourself, go on a moderate and sustainable calorie deficit (about 500 cals below your maintenance calories). Train with weights to build muscle mass. Muscle gives you curve, shape, definition and tone. - Eat enough protein every day (at least 1g per pound of body weight per day). Don’t overdo the cardio! Cardio is not the secret to fa loss: your nutrition is. - And forget about diet pills, detox shit, and any other potion which promises a quick fix. Arm yourself with patience, self love, and go for the long haul! - #blacuttfitness

But then I have to remember I am here on God times. He has no time line. He gives us purpose and guidance and its up to us to live in it. Im constantly growing and being reminded that i am only human and to not be so hard on myself. With time and patience I know i will make God and the people around very pleased to know. Couldn’t even wait to have a bite before I took a picture I was actually that hungry for once. Either that or it smelled or looked good 😂. BBQ chicken breast with a squirt of honey mustard. I think I had 5/6 mini potato’s no butter but yes had to have some ketchup. A home made salad with the tiniest amount of cheese and no fat ranch dressing with a massive glass of water. I’ve been drinking water non stop my throat has been soar from the breathing tube and I will lose my voice for parts. Incision spots extremely soar but I’m not bed ridden anymore I’m moving around I went for a 20 min walk yesterday but that did leave me slightly dizzy but over better and better each day. Day 1 is squat focused, Day 2 is deadlift focused and Day 3 is hip thrust focused 🙈💁🏼‍♀️🤢. . Given I have a focus on trying to grow my glutes, each day has some exercises that really target the glutes with a varied range of reps, sets and tempo! This includes a mix of barbell glute bridge, seated abductions, deficit lunges, split squats, reverse hack squats, GHR’s, deficit RDLs etc etc 🤗💫. . You could do this after any workout, or as a workout by itself! 👍🏾👍🏾 . I’ve never been to a “CrossFit-er” but I do get a lot of #workoutinspo from CrossFit workouts. CrossFit encompasses lots of different styles of training from powerlifting to HIIT to calisthenics. I find it a great way to add variety to my training. 🤩 . No one style of training is fundamentally better or worse than another so why not try bits of everything! Keeping it real here... This is what my face usually looks like (or worse) when I weight train these days. Since I started consistent weight training about a month ago, I have been hitting it hard in the gym. Lifting weights I’ve never touched before, and pushing beyond points I didn’t think I could. All of a sudden I understand why those bodybuilders on TV all look so miserable! Boy they are not exaggerating - it’s impossible to not look that way if you’re pushing limits! Epiphanies aside, I’m seeing some positive changes in my body - more muscle definition, better proportion, and more importantly, I feel strong. Hard work definitely rewards. FYI I’m really not good at running/jogging but I know I have to do it more to get better at it. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ✨Any suggestions/tips on how I can get better at running?. I honestly think it’s my breathing or lack of motivation😂🤷🏼‍♀️. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ But I really want to work at this because I know that the number one killer in USA is heart disease (correct me if I’m wrong, you can be reduce those risks with cardio). Normal people eat pizza. Normal people eat chocolate, crisps, cheesecake, takeaways and eat out. None of these make you fat and you can consume any of these and still lose fat. This is why you don't need a diet plan, you don't need to be told what to eat, you just need some guidance, nothing more. It's always a good thing to consume a good amount of fruit and vegetables as they're high in nutrients but don't fear food just because some other idiot who hasn't got a clue does. Food is delicious, it's amazing and we can do amazing things with it. Just because your PT or friend at work has THR most boring diet in the World whilst they're trying to meet their goals doesn't mean you have to. High protein, calorie deficit for fat loss. High protein, calorie surplus for muscle gain. Enjoy your food. All the best PT Lee

** Disclaimer, I have only just started my PT course, I am not knowledgeable in it all yet and my Instagram posts are posted a lot to help myself with trying to see how far I have come from my before shots, when I lost myself for a while. I try to remind myself how far/we’ll I have done, as sometimes I forget and still am not happy with where I am. I don’t want them to ever come across vein or anything like that as I use Instagram to help me along on my journey. It’s like a journal for me! Don’t judge before you know❤️** One thing I ALWAYS do, and will always recommend is to do dynamic stretching before a workout and static stretching after. While doing my PT studies today I was reading up about it and I am even more for it now. I knew to do it before from the benefits and positive results I got from doing it, but I know even more so now how beneficial it is! To increase the quality of your workouts and weightlifting, stretching helps you become more mobile, which results in a wider range of movement, which means your time at the gym will be safer, more efficient and effective. I don’t know lots yet, I don’t want this to come across that way, I am just thoroughly enjoying this career change and course and am excited about what I have learnt 😂☺️. We are all in this together, and my desire is to inspire others! If this #fortysomething year old mom can do it, YOU can to! ⁣⁣- I think back to my entire 20’s & 30’s...yo-yo dieting, quick fix fads, pills, drops... you name it, I probably did it! I frequented the gym and then went through periods of hardly any activity at all.🚫 That girl needed some direction & community around her. She needed someone to say stop being so hard on yourself! ⁣⁣- If someone had showed me that I could feel energetic and strong while maintaining a healthy weight range being dialed into leading first with heart, for only 30 minutes a day - I would have signed up on the spot. 🙋🏻‍♀️No questions asked. - So this post is to serve you. To tell you that you’re worth it and capable of things beyond your heart’s wildest dreams.😉💕⁣⁣ ⁣⁣- Once a month I open enrollment for my virtual health & fitness group. One of my goals this year is to be strong and not skinny. While I was at "fittest" with the most defined abs a few years back, I wasn't the happiest and I knew I wasn't treating my body right! 😣 Currently, I'm eating LOTS MORE WHOLEFOODS and sometimes traveling can sabotage my progress, I will be embracing that and not be too hard on myself!! Getting back on track also means I can see my improvement again and regain my strength bit by bit and it's so rewarding to see that 😍 It's so interesting how your body can change in a month of not training at full intensity. I can't imagine when I grow old 👵🏻 and not being able to move as much. A bunny will forever be a 🐰 that likes to hop around. 🙈 / If you see someone with a ripped 6-pack, it could mean that they are really on a regimented diet and fitness plan AND probably not as happy 😅). So DON'T EVER COMPARE yourself to those body builders or fitness junkies (or even those who don't store fat in their mid-section by genes)!! Eenmaal thuis letterlijk alles doorweekt, dus alle natte kleding etc. maar rechtstreeks in de douche gedeponeerd en droge kleren aangetrokken. Bijna 19.30 uur, nu eerst mijn #avondeten naar binnen werken. Vandaag #rustdag, dus ff geen trainingen. When you work on your abs you really are working the rectus abdominis, internal and external oblique and transversus abdominis meaning we gotta do more then some old school crunches to build that foundation you need to succeed. You use your core for pretty much everything bend over, twist, sit up, stand up hah you name it i bet ya use your core 😘 .
