After seeing clips of Dan Green smash all time world records at Raw Unity, I went to spectate my first meet. At the meet I saw a 13 year old boy in the 114lb class open his deadlift with my max. He pulled it like a warm-up; I’ve been on the journey to feel strong again ever since. This sport has gotten me through surgeries, lost jobs, heartbreak... You name it. Things come and go and in a world full of change, Powerlifting has been the only constant. This sport is my love, and my life. It has given me everything. It has given me purpose... and I intend to give back tenfold. #AnimalASFVIP

2 out of the top 5 strongest SHW women in the USPA Drug Tested Division on the same team. Meet recap from the NBC Fit Expo ! @gechmeifyoucan and @iamphenomenal_red27 represented incredible. They took female 1st and 2nd place for best lifter. @gechmeifyoucan topped her national record squat with a 507lb new record while on the way to totaling 1201lbs. @iamphenomenal_red27 hitting all PRs. Here's a short video on the correct way to execute the Box Squat. Box squats break up the eccentric and concentric movements of the squat and help create explosive strength out of the hole. Doing box squats correctly can improve your numbers in squat and deadlift as well as your Olympic lifts. Doing box squats correctly is also a great substitute for anyone who cannot squat below parallel because of old man knees or other knee injuries. Doing box squats correctly helped get me to my 500# deadlift at age 52 and 178# body weight. Doing box squats incorrectly makes my eyes bleed, so here are the basics, and if you do YouTube and want more information, look up Louie Simmons/Westside Barbell and box squats because he is the master. Widen your feet, wider than your squat stance. Reach back with your hips until you feel like you're about to drop off the face of the earth, then control your decent to the box. Don't "sit" keep your posterior chain and core active. Push through your mid foot and heel with active glutes and hamstrings and explode off the box. DON'T keep your feet narrow. DON'T sit straight down. DON'T load the quads. DON'T leave knees over toes. DON'T touch and go. So, that’s what I did today and was finally able to sit in a sauna even though I’m a wimp and only stayed in for like five minutes 😂. - Also, random information, but this whole “eating in a surplus” thing has been pretty cool for my legs, so that’s cool lol not too sure the point of this but here we are 🤷🏻‍♀️😂.

Squats: (Forgot what I hit coz its KGs lol) After a few failed attempts and some cues and coaching today I finally hit 400+ again. This wasnt a mental thing today I needed to improve my technique. Thank you again @squat705 & @darrylliu for the help. A few more weeks of training before the meet I just have to polish this technique and get 400 on the platform. Squat will be better!!!!
