How confident are you about your goals this year? How ready are you to make the necessary changes, and do the work that is needed to change your life? If you doubt whether you will be able to follow through on your intentions, become more consistent and persistent, and do the uncomfortable things which are needed to improve your health and happiness, I want to encourage you today. For most of my life, I drastically limited my own joy, potential, and health, through some pretty intense mental barriers. I was stuck, feeling like I wasn't worthy of acceptance, good enough, smart enough, or strong enough. Social Anxiety and self-sabotage held me back from making any meaningful changes and following through on my biggest goals. I resisted anything that placed any attention on me, or that put pressure on me to prove what I was capable of. This was all because I had such low self-worth and very little belief in my own abilities or gifts. It caused me to feel like an onlooker in my own life, I never truly participated in life or fully experienced any of it. I truly can't even recognize who I was back then, I feel like a completely different person. Today I pursue my goals with joy, hope, and confidence.  When I set my mind on something, I feel excited and driven to pursue it to completion. I feel worthy of my dreams, my life vision, and the calling that God's put on my heart. The thought of changing my habits doesn't make me feel overwhelmed and anxious any more. Today I can adapt my lifestyle and make different choices as and when I see the need because I've developed important skills such as persistence, perseverance, living intentionally, wise time management, and being adaptable to various situations. I didn’t sacrifice everything to remain the same⁣. ⁣ Why are the phrases “Take a chance” & “Sacrifice” seen as negative?⁣ ⁣ I honestly think it is due to the way we frame this statement - we frame it as if we are putting everything on the line and if it doesn’t work out...then we are screwed.⁣ ⁣ I’m sorry but that simply isn’t true⁣ ⁣ MY BIGGEST FEAR WAS BEING VULNERABLE ⁣ ⁣ Did a man just use the “V” word? HELL YES I DID⁣ ⁣ Why fear vulnerability? Because it’s scary as hell - failure & rejection are not things that are easy to receive. ⁣ So instead of being vulnerable and taking a chance what do we do? We settle and remain the same, never pursuing what we truly desire for ourselves. ⁣ ⁣ This is no way to live life. ⁣ ⁣ Here are 5 things I began doing that drastically helped me progress in life⁣ ⁣ 1. I started trusting my intuition on new opportunities - if I felt that it would make me a better person to my core, I did it. I DID IT BEFORE I LET MYSELF TALK ME OUT OF IT⁣ ⁣ 2. Started to believe in my own abilities - if you think you can or you think you cannot, you’re probably right⁣ ⁣ 3. Started to make moves even when I was scared as hell - it’s easy to tell ourselves lies that allow us to take the easier situation⁣ ⁣ 4. Began to own my situation - when stuff wasn’t going great I focused on figuring out why “I” wasn’t succeeding, instead of blaming others⁣ ⁣ 5. So this morning I had a Lay in until 5am which felt brilliant even though it was
So this morning I had a Lay in until 5am which felt brilliant even though it was only 15mins extra. As its an active rest day Cardio was the goal for this mornings session and I couldn't decide on which machine to use but knew I had to be in and out within the hour. Once at the gym I did a quick pick and found myself on the cross trainer which actually worked quite well. When on the cross trainer or stair master I load a movie and watch it to help pass the time and distract the brain. It was the new Robin Hood today 42mins in and not a bad show so far. So after 40mins and 400cal burnt It was time to hit the shower and get home to make brekkie. I may get back in later for a little more but will all depend on work. It's not about your size, its about how you feel on the inside. Learning to love the person on the inside, has been the biggest struggle for me. Sluggish, in pain, unhappy,😫 unhealthy... my legs ached, I had terrible bloating and my tummy was constantly upset🤢 when I ate/drank certain things . Losing 16kg in 12 weeks👏 has truly been life changing for not only my health but my general wellbeing both mental and physical... I hated my "side view" as all I could see was back fat, rolls and sticky out bits! I would not look in Windows when walking past in fear of seeing the "truth" 😵 . *Seated Dumbbell Shoulder Press 3x8⠀
Week 1 Day 2: Push⠀ *Flat Bench Press 3x4⠀ *Seated Dumbbell Shoulder Press 3x8⠀ *Weighted Dips 3x6⠀ *Cable Flyes 3x12⠀ *Dumbbell Lateral Raises 3x12⠀ ⠀ Continuing week 1 of training with a push day. Running a legs, push, pull workout split for the next 8 weeks or so. Keeping the reps lowers to build my strength back up and concentrate with my form. Once my strength increases doing higher reps in a hypertrophy rep range will yield higher likelihood of muscle size increase.⠀ ⠀ “The Revival” I’m calling the next collection of training motivation videos being posted is my step back into the gym. Previously training videos have been cutting prior to Winfred holidays, now on a bulk/lean bulking phase I’m looking forward to a lot more linear strength gains and gaining as much muscle mass possible.

When you walk in and coach says “Hurry Up! We have circuits!” Check out the next pic, he was serious 😅 - Where my athletes at?!? Soo, I played sports my entire life; basketball, volleyball + softball. I had no clue how to “workout”, I went to PRACTICE w|my team! I showed up to a coach telling me the drills and making me run (faster than I wanted to lol) and a team of people I got to do it with. I never said I was “going to exercise”..it was practice. When team sports ended and I no longer had practice, things got weird! I kept eating like a typical young athlete (whatever I wanted🤣🤷🏽‍♀️) but was no longer as physical. The weight crept up and somewhere along the way I met 262lbs! I needed a team back (and obviously a coach too!) One of the TOP things that drew me into starting my business as a online coach was that I felt like I had found my team again and they were a bunch of beast and helping people find their inner beast, too! All this to say, Athletes, I FREAKING GET IT! Pero look, you are STILL an athlete, it’s in your blood, so it’s okay that you miss the game it’s okay that going to the gym solo feels weird + the compound effect of not knowing where to start is frustrating! It’s okay that you want a team of some sort back in your life and some dang accountability that screams “BASELINE!” - What’s not okay, friend, is feeling that way and not doing anything about it! We get so wrapped up in what that scale says that we forget how are bodies are reacting to change. Don’t allow yourself to be defined by a number on a machine. It will fluctuate up and down. And that is ok! You might not lose weight for weeks but I bet you lose inches. This has been one of the hardest concepts to get to stuck in my brain. Weightloss is a struggle. Share all your squatting fun with me! • • • *BODYWEIGHT SQUAT - Knees in line with your second and third toe. Sit your butt back like you’re sitting in a chair. A common modification I use is actually sitting and standing from a chair or workout bench. The check points I use are: Stand up straight, good posture, shoulders back, squeeze core, sit back in a chair, and push through the heels on the way back up. • • • *SQUAT WITH CALF RAISE - Same as a Bodyweight said with a quick calf raise pump at the top of your movement. • • • *POP SQUATS - Jump in and out with feet slightly wider than hip width. Reach down to touch the floor with alternating hands. Push through the heels on your way up! #busybodies#exercise
