I swear I still workout 😂 Question: If IG didn’t exist, would you still workout & eat for your health/goals? TBH, when I first started on my journey to a better, healthier, more active me 6 years ago, I probably wouldn’t have 😂 As absurd as it sounds, I lived to post my workouts and pictures of my beautifully crafted meals (lolz remember when clean eating was IN & IIFYM wasn’t so wide-spread? 😂 or am I just old?) Regardless of how absurd it was, it held me accountable, and was a place to share my journey, which brings us to today where I’m in the best place with my health - physically and mentally. However, My page has transitioned to more of a “lifestyle” page if you will, which IMO is way more exciting bc LBH, how many of these same workouts, meals, challenge guides do you see on the daily? SNOOZE FEST 😴 I still workout, still track macros M-F, still drink alcohol & eat pizza, still act a fool with Trav😜, still play dress up & go out, I just don’t post EVERY workout, or meal anymore. ❌ WEIGHTS WILL MAKE YOU BULKY A myth that has been busted time and time again but it’s still a very common one! Women don’t produce enough testosterone to get ‘big’. If you are looking to achieve a ‘toned’ look you need to be lifting heavy in the gym. . ❌ YOU CAN ‘TONE’ A SPECIFIC AREA Toned essentially means revealing the muscle by reducing our body fat. We can work hard in building muscle in that particular area in order to make it more prominent however what we cannot do is tell our body where to loose fat from. To achieve that ‘toned’ physique we are all after we need to reduce fat and increase muscle mass overall. The best way to do this? Compound lifts! . ❌ YOU NEED TO DO CARDIO TO LOSE WEIGHT Cardio can be a great tool to burn a few extra calories where needed BUT it is NOT the most effective way to burn calories over a long period of time. The period in which we burn calories after a weights session can be much much higher than your average cardio session PLUS the more muscle we have the more calories our body needs to fuel our day. One common theme however which most people face is motivation. How do you stay motivated? . When your new to training & you start using weights & learning form & technique it is quite exciting, but after a while you get used to it & you may feel slightly bored, causing you to lack motivation to even go to the gym. Sometimes all it takes is a new programme. .
