You don’t want the change bad enough. . 5 years ago a very good friend told me that and it gave me such fire in my belly 🔥 And it’s all because I DIDN’T WANT it badly. My problem was I was staying in my lane of comfort. I remained ‘stuck’ instead of doing the ACTION steps to achieve the goal I wanted. . The minute that truth was spoken everything changed for me and I realised I was in CONTROL. If I wanted to change I had to control that change! I had to take the small steps to achieve that change. . And here we are today lots of incredible change, not just physically but mentally aswell has happened since then👏🏻🙌🏻 . . Remember you are in control. You control how you feel and if you are stuck or not. But make that change actively and make it today. . Take control of the controllable. . I’m here if you want to be held accountable. Première grosse séance de la semaine avec @loicfit456 . Le bench était pas mal aujourd'hui, c'est fou de voir a quel point le ressenti peu changer selon mon état de fatigue par exemple. J'aurai tout de même retenu ça de cette année, c'est de ne pas changer la technique même si la séance est plus dur. Être constant paye. En tout cas pour le coup tout était facile, vivement que ça monte 👿. . Bench: 1 x 137,5 rpe 5 puis 6 x 122,5 rpe 5. “When nothing seems to help, I go and look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that last blow that did it, but all that had gone before.” Jacob Riis 5 years in the making, but I finally achieved a long term goal of pressing half of my bodyweight! When I bought my first 24kg kettlebell and read Pavel Tsatsouline’s work for the first time, I earmarked this as a cool but possibly unattainable goal but today, after lots of good days and plenty of bad days in the gym, I ticked another goal off the list! Does your training have a goal or a purpose? If not; why not? Perhaps setting yourself a target is exactly what you need to reinvigorate your training and put you back on the path to success. Here at the gym we have 8 indicator lifts which test everything across the athletic spectrum from: - absolute/max strength (like heavy squats and deadlifts) - relative strength (like Chinups) - strength endurance (like kettlebell snatches and assault bike sprint) And many, many more. We all have strengths and weaknesses, hence why there is such a broad choice, but we always encourage members to pick at least one of these goals and set a realistic time frame. I’m not saying it has to be 5 years like this lift, but you won’t achieve your goals in a week either! KILLER GAINZ!!! by @shredtheskinnyfat ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ OK - tongue in cheek humor here 😜 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm just way excited for our new gas range / oven! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We moved into our current house just over a year ago, and a year prior to that in our old place had finally upgraded our electric coil range to a nice gas range. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Then a year later spontaneously decided to move, and the new house had electric again. First time I've had a glass top range, and I can say I'm not a fan. Switching gears. Still keeping with the double #kettlebell work, but increasing the weight and volume while decreasing density (I.e. more rest). This is the “Dry fighting weight” program from #StrongFirst. Do a set of clean and presses, rest, do a set of squats, rest, repeat. Reps per set start at 1 and then increase up to 5, then start at 1 again. Do this for 30 min. Rest as much as you need so you can perform the set with perfect form. Total reps for the session: 1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,(5 presses only). All done with 2 x 24Kg bells.

After a week off from deadlifting, it was time to get after it again. Lifting is hard, recovering and being smart is harder. It’s easy to get caught up in wanting to get after it that you ignore red lights and try to power through. Luckily for me, I experienced not one but two Low back injuries over the last year, so I’ve learned what my signs and symptoms are of overdoing it. Don’t be a hero, take your time. Video: 8 of the 54 reps of 325 hook grip. All with hook grip, which is officially my favorite and I can no longer imagine life without it.

Little evening case presentation to give people an idea of how we roll at Ready Up Performance! TLDR a patient with years of pain got better in a week. 7 days ago: Treating a patient with complaint of hamstring pain. This pain has been present for several years. The patient is in her 40s and does CrossFit along with some other recreational activities. After performing the Selective Functional Movement Assessment on her, we keyed into a significant number of trunk and lower extremity mobility deficits. Causes from the lumbar were ruled out. Similar patterns of hamstring and hip rotator weakness occurred on both sides. The symptomatic side was slightly more pronounced in these deficits. Treatment 1, same day: Patient education about her condition and a positive prognosis for her pain. Goal setting and expectation for plan of care. Patient was asked what she wanted from her care. Education on home exercise importance and establishing the patient and the driver of her rehabilitation and care Quad and hip flexor stretch x3 min total on each side Piriformis stretching x 3min total each side Bridging with a band around the knees to encourage isometric rotation and abduction activation 3x10 reps at a slow cadence and with heels further away from the hips for increased hamstring activation. Patient was asked how she felt going out of the door that day with respect to her condition. Momming has been full force today. This kid had ear tubes put in and when she was finished the doctor said that one of her ears was REALLY bad. They had to scrape it clean and then put the tube in. She has been a whiny child for almost 18 months and it made me wonder if the poor girl has just gotten used to being in pain. She would be a happy child one day and completely miserable the next. She was slower to talk and still sometimes hard to understand so she struggles telling us what she needs. . Gives you perspective on other people. Some may be in so much pain they can’t function or reach their full capabilities that day, that week, that year. People can’t always communicate what they need. Don’t be offended, just love them. . One of my big goals is to become the person I want to be by making a few changes. Overcoming that hesitation to talk to someone. Being more open and loving to all those around me. I can fake it like the rest of them, but sometimes I’m just exhausted and don’t want to. So what!!! Get over it!!! I am going to tell myself that I have the capacity and capability to be the person I want to be. . @lizzyography you inspired me with your live the other week. Thank you! . It’s crazy what a good sweat session can do for you! I have been dealing with a number of things since I’ve been sick. Of course most of them are limiting beliefs about myself but trying to shake them is hard sometimes. . I have been lacking the motivation and discipline to get back to my routine. I kept making excuses and saying I just wasn’t ready. . I’ve gained all the weight I had lost last year and then some. Yes of course the meds had something to do with it but the rest was all me and reverting back to emotional eating. Hoping that food would make me feel better but it only made me feel worse. . I attempted to start 80 Day Obsession a few weeks ago but failed. I attempted to start 21 day fix 2 weeks ago but failed. . Today something just felt different. .
