I saw this picture and immediately went to put my shorts on for another picture because I didn’t like how the lighting showed off the tiny bit of cellulite on my leg/booty. Which is SO picky, I know! No one looks there best 100% of the time! I went to put on my shorts because I thought I didn’t or shouldn’t look like that, and most of the time, I probably don’t, but that’s still me! It’s just me in less flattering lighting. But I’m freaking happy and I love this picture! I hope no one ever looks at my pictures and thinks I always look my best. Training. ✨ A lot of you are out there doing the damn thing trying to be as effective and efficient as possible. I commend you on your grind and your continuous effort..showing up is by far the hardest part so why not be effective in your efforts! ✨ I’m sorry to be the one breaking it to you, but if you’re saving random workouts off of instagram, that might not get you to your goals sista! ✨ If you’re after a good sweat and some general movement then sure, have at it! But if your goal is to get “toned” and sculpt your body, then short clips or random exercises aren’t going to get you there.. and I assure you, that fitness influencer wasn’t doing that to get her looking that great either! ✨ Your results have little to do with a single exercise and a LOT to do with the programming and structure behind your workouts. I’m talking about the intensity, the load, the frequency, rest periods etc. and how you progress over time. ✨ Selecting random workouts and performing an endless amount of kickbacks or box jumps isn’t going to cut it.. unless of coarse you want to do cardio... but if that’s the case.. just do cardio. ✨ Double tap if you follow a program or work with a coach and comment if you’re confused about what I’m talking about 😝 . #donthurtyourself#saynotoboxjumps

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh in May of 2019, as a Kinesiology Major with an Exercise and Fitness Emphasis. My internship was at O-Town Iron as well this past summer of 2019. . . Easy training formula 🔢 = 💪🏽 ————————————————————————-If you’re short on time, try this... 1️⃣ Pick 2 strength based movements that compliment each other (i.e push & pull, upper body/lower body, etc) 2️⃣ Pick 1 core movement 3️⃣ Combine the 3 movements into 1 compound set. Now if my coach can agree to throw in little deadlift prep before the Arnold so I can crack that 800 and get the poverty deadlift moving again. Most people define that as being ‘able’ and define anyone who lacks those as ‘dysfunctional’ or ‘disabled.’ I don’t think so. • ‘Able’ is not a minimum standard. For the very weak and ill, strength may mean the difference between falling and not. Between opening a water bottle on your own or having to wait for help. For the ‘able,’ strength and fitness can mean the difference between hauling the fertilizer bag or spending 10 minutes looking for a cart. For the competitor, it can mean the difference between winning and losing. You can go beyond ‘able.’ • And physical ability is only one part of life. The biomechanics principles I learned to understand squats helped me coach handstands. Trigonometry paid off as a Naval officer (surprisingly). Reading and practicing communication skills (Crucial Conversations, MI) have made me a better coach and husband… and I never would have imagined before learning the skills how I’d apply them later. How many untold opportunities would open from being a better cook? Wrestling with Heidegger? Practicing photoshop? Speaking a foreign language? Learning to code? • Be curious! Learn new things and play in new ways. Level up. Whether strength is your primary goal or just a side interest, go beyond ‘able.’
