The last couple of days in Sundarbans were extremely special. This biosphere was very different from what I had seen before, it was intriguing. From the tight, intertwined complex roots to the dagger sharp pnuematophores, from the lazily drooping palm trees to the gently running river waters, from the occasional splash of vibrant color to the masters of disguise, from the engaging stories of guides to the absolute quietude of expansive waters... I can feel that familiar disorientation, I can still hear the sound of nothing but water, air, birds and boat. I will be sharing my encounters with this 'beautiful forest' in the next few posts, hope you enjoy them as much as I did. In the image is a black capped kingfisher against the quintessential Sundarban backdrop! #sundarbans#blackcappedkingfisher#wildlifephotography#nikonindiaofficial#naturephotography#natgeo#natgeowild#bbcearth#sanctuaryasia

Teak trees with broad leaves creating a dense canopy allowing little light to penetrate. Sunlight creating a beautiful light and shadow pattern on the forest floor. Such a patch of forest ending at a nullah, Which separates the Forested area from a plain meadow with abundant grass cover. The hillocks laid with islands of bamboo grooves connected by dense secondary vegetation. Streams and rivulets emerging from the hillocks around the Tipai mata mandir. Spotted deer grazing in the dense canopy cover, prancing from one groove to another. Rohe( Neil gai) running on the plain meadows at the foothills, stopping suddenly to get a hint of the surroundings and then sprinting through the woods again. Occasional splendid sight of a Black buck herd leaping across the grassland as if flying through the grass. Jungle cats and other small mammals peeking out through the grass cover giving a glimpse of themselves and then disappearing again. And last but not the least, the king of the Central Indian jungles ~ The Bengal Tiger majestically walking through all different scapes like a guardian. This is what the safari tracks winding through Tipeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary offered us while our visit to the nascent forest. The Wildlife Sanctuary in the Yavatmal district plays a key role in the Central Indian Tiger Reserve network and needs to be conserved to maintain a healthy green corridor. Visiting such less visited parks in a responsible manner surely helps Sustainable Ecotourism to flourish in that area which in turn can definitely give the conservation efforts a boost is what I honestly feel. The Oklahoma Zoological Society ( @okczoofriends ) recently dedicated a new animal enrichment/training wall at Sanctuary Asia to the memory of longtime OKC Zoo fan, Martha K. Denham. Though she passed away in 2015, her legacy continues to benefit the Zoo and the million plus guests who visit annually. More than $26,000 was raised for the project in Martha’s honor, with substantial contributions from Martha’s children: Matt Denham, Elizabeth Laurent and Ann White. Training walls allow caretakers to safely interact with animals for behavioral training and enrichment purposes. The OKC Zoo practices protected contact with elephants and rhinos (among other species), meaning that caretakers never share unrestricted space with the animals. Training walls are also beneficial for medical examinations. The Zoo now has three training walls: one in the existing elephant habitat, one in the indoor elephant habitat and one in Sanctuary Asia. Thank you Martha K. Denham and family! To learn more, click the link in our bio! #okczoo#careconnectconserve#sanctuaryasia#rhino#elephant#donors

It was a pleasure to see a beautiful lifer like Indian Eagle Owl in Hosapete,Karnataka..they are extremely hard to spot even in broad daylight due to their camouflage under the thickets on the rocky terrain..excellent spotting skills of our guide @pompayyamalemath ji helped us to get the beauty in open twice and take some decent shots..u can see in the 1st image, how well these birds hide themselves in the habitat.. #birds#birding#owls#birdsofinstagram#nuts_about_birds#karnatakatourism#karnataka_ig#wildkarnataka#indianwildlifeofficial#wildlife_india#indian_wildlifes#wildlifeindia#your_best_birds#birds_adored#kings_birds#eye_spy_birds#planetbirds#birdfreaks#best_birds_of_ig#sanctuaryasia#saevuswildlife#natureinfocus#bbcearth#earthcapture#bird_brilliance#instagood#birdphotography#wildlifephotographer#birdsofindia

Remember remember the 17th of November @rohitdamle 🤩 wish you were in the park... Having seeing my first tigress in panna national park on 17th November 2016, I remember being very hopeful on 17th November 2017 and I had one the most memorable one that day...little did I know 17th November 2018 was going to be another adrenaline pumped day...thanks for bringing the date to my notice @rohitdamle Somehow, OMG OMG OMG is always inevitable. Even this set of guests could not resist her charm...Priya, was soaking in the experience calmly as she had seen machli (the tigress) equally close. Sharan and Anisha watched in excitement their first ever tiger. Then there was raj who couldn’t stop saying move, move, kopal move, get back to the steering and our beloved guide RP ji telling him “kuch nahi karegi” #whatadayitwas#nofilter#tiger#wildcats#nationalanimal#projecttiger#pannatigerreserve#pannanationalark#141#sanctuaryasia#catsofinstagram#royalbengaltiger#tiger#pantheratigris#biodiversity#biodiversityofindia#tajsafari#whispersfromthewild#bushbaby#sanctuaryasia#panthera#pantherapardus#wildlifephotography#indianwildlifeofficial#indianwildlife#centralindia#ilovemyjob❤️

Every one tend to remember their first times, first time they came to Bangalore, first vehicle, first date and many more. It's unforgettable for me to have filmed leopards for the first time in the jungle. My work always revolved around small little animals which I enjoyed doing, can't believe it took me so long to come to big cats. . . . . . . . #bigcats#cats#leopard#yawn#jungle#film#forest#wildlife#india#cat#leopards#nif#sanctuaryasia@naturein_focus@sanctuaryasia@discovery@natgeoasia#natgeo#indianwildlife
