My birth story 👶🏻 This pregnancy and birth was definitely nothing like my first. From a prenatal screening scare, a (successful) turning attempt, to a hectic finish before he was finally in my arms. We had been anticipating his arrival for a whole week before I awoke at 4 am with contractions. I felt excited, and of course a bit nervous, as I quietly snuck out of the bedroom, careful not to wake Oliver and Elton. Since It took Elton more than 50 hours, from the first contraction, to make his debut, I figured that I had plenty of time and tried to work through the contractions on my own until the boys woke up. I talked to my mom at 6 am and told her that it had started, but that it would probably take a while so she might as well go to work. At 7:30 my contractions started to get more intense and the half an hour before Oliver and Elton finally woke up felt like an eternity. The contractions continued to intensify as they had breakfast and got ready and I tried to ease the pain by taking a shower. The warm water didn’t help at all and we finally decided to call the maternity ward to see if it was time to head in. We had originally decided to go to another hospital but I felt like I was in too much pain to sit in the car for that long (I hate sitting during contractions), so when they gave us the green light we headed to the nearest hospital. We arrived at the hospital a little before 10 am. Our neighbor was kind enough to take care of Elton until my mother arrived because I had told her that it would probably take longer until we needed to head to the hospital. Since Elton’s birth took so long I was convinced that they would send us back home, but when we arrived at the hospital, and they examined me, I had already dilated 5 cm. We were so happy; already half way there! We got our own room and got settled in. Everything suddenly felt 100% better and I felt much calmer. Of course the laughing gas also helped 😉 I felt like I didn’t even need an epidural; I could do this 💪 We talked with the midwife, working through the contractions one by one. I was dilating quite quickly, centimeter by centimeter every time the midwife checked. Continued in comments.

My birthing hospital offered a lactation office available for walk-in appointments. Nurses there showed me how to hand express and how to help my baby latch on correctly. I was also lucky to have an attentive maternal child health nurse who taught me the different positions I could breastfeed my baby in. But a few weeks after we settled in at home, my breastfeeding dream hit a snag. Lemons 3. Ginger 4. For sweetener : you can add a table spoon of honey or dates syrup How to prepare this sweet tea 1. Boil one cup of water and allow to boil 2. Add ginger and slice in one lemon into the boiling waiter and allow to cook a little (2mins) 3. Add two or more tea bags of green tea into the boiling water and allow to cook for one more minute 5. Turn of your stove and drain the water into a jug 6. You can add Sweetness to it if you wish but lemon already gave it a nice sweet flavor That’s it . P O S T P A R T U M. Just like everything else, it's different for everyone. After having my first, I didn't know it was okay to ask for help. I thought I should just figure it out on my own. I didn't know it was okay to say I wasn't happy. I started getting concerned when the suicidal thoughts became more intense. We had a lot of family drama going on so at first I brushed it off but after a while it wasn't something I could make go away. I sought help and went to a physiatrist who put me on some meds then recommended a therapist. As you know, if you've been with me for a while, three months after my daughter was born I found out I was pregnant, I stopped the meds. Fast forward to after the twins were born, my husband slept the first 24 hours of their lives because of a migraine so I took care of them alone. It was a lot plus I couldn't sleep. The first month we thankfully, had a lot of people in and out but after a couple months there weren't many people to help. There was a lot of sleepless nights. I was always in a bad mood. The suicidal thoughts came back full force and stronger than ever. It was scary. My therapist suggested I see another therapist, one she felt could help more. The thoughts were coming almost daily for months. I was so sleep deprived all I wanted was a full 2 or 3 hours of sleep, uninterrupted. I have self harmed since I was 12 so during this time I also harmed myself more than ever and that's when things got more real. Not that I thought it was all a joke before but that's when I was willing to ask for as much help as I could get. That's when o started being more open and raw with friends and loved ones. It took a year for me to feel like a "cloud" was lifted and I still struggle. I still feel mom guilt. I still overreact out of exhaustion. I have to apologize to my children and husband often. BUT I am working on being a better me, a healthier me. I am trying to figure this mom thing out still. Shoot, even the wife thing. I am a new person and it is hard sometimes. I have to forgive myself. I know not everyone has the same experience with postpartum as me but whatever it is, talk to someone. If you are down, having scary thoughts,.......

OKAY I’m HELLA proud of myself tonight! I’ve had a very off day today mentally and managed to get off my butt to get to the gym. I decided I would refocus all of my inner turmoil outwards and use that to fuel my workout tonight. As a result! I have beaten my best record on the stair climber! My best was 144 floors in 40 mins and is now 150 floors in 40 mins! It might not seem like a lot, but jeez these stairs KILL me 😂 so this is a big deal for me! I learned today that I have a very good outlet to redirect my emotions and feelings that not only is productive, but leaves me feeling good about myself! Transformation Tuesday - to my body 2 weeks into recovery after having my 3rd baby - things are contracting back well, im not dieting (i'm still breast feeding) im eating healthy on plan with @jt_qualityfood and ive increased activity by walking with the pram! Each mum will be different and ready at different times, so dont rush and dont compare yourself to others, you have to listen yo yourself and your body! I'm surprised how quickly ive recovered from the labour, being my 3rd baby and being older (41 nearly 42) do i think anything ive done has contributed to my recovery? Possbly, ive mostly eaten healthy throughout the pregnancy and remained active right up till the very end and definately think the fact i had a amazing midwife while in labour (Steph @ormskirkmaternity) helped! But then you hear of super fit and healthy mums who dont have smooth pregnancies/labours! So maybe ive just been lucky! But i know i didnt recover this quickly with my other 2 pregnancies! ive been working on my pelvic floor/kegal training! Yes we are sleep deprived and im trying my best to get more done in the days which is a struggle because im breast feeding on demand. I tried the sneak peak, preview of #morningmeltdown100 and felt like a baby calf just learning to walk.. 😂 The movements were new, and challenging and confusing.. in the best way! The 25 minutes went by so quick and I was sore and sweating my ass off! This video is FAR from perfect, I look silly, and I was low-key terrible at some of the moves. I could be disappointed in myself or embarrassed, but instead I'm posting this as accountability, taking it as a challenge and can't wait to keep practicing and training with this program!! Almost 6 months post partum. I'll be honest... getting back in shape after giving birth to my beautiful daughter has not been a priority. I've been getting to the gym most days but only for 30 or 45 minute sessions due to baby needing breastfeeding /settling / mummy cuddles. I worry about my milk drying up and am eating a large amount and variety of food which includes cake AND chocolate most days! And not even in moderation 🤣🤣🤣 Also, on approximately 6 hours of broken sleep each night, I just don't have the energy to think about cooking! #ubereats getting smashed! Anyway, I am pretty impressed with how my body has taken care of me and baby these last 15 months. #womenareamazing . . Please don’t forget that your body has done an enormously great job, nourished and gave first home to your baby. It deserves to be nourished back, taken good care of, but please remember it won’t happen within first 6 weeks postpartum. Your body carried the baby for 40 weeks, so give it some time to heal. Please don’t be hard on yourself and run to the gym every day aiming for your body to be beach perfect right away. The 100 squats you do every evening to rock your baby to sleep, the constant picking of your baby up and down, cleaning up the toys, doing tons of laundry, bringing the groceries bags home, going for walks with the pram, running after and fulfilling the demands of your older kiddo, laying on the floor laughing so hard with them so your belly hurts- it all is WORKOUT too. Please remember your mental state is even more important right now. Please eat well to nourish your brain and your nervous system. Please keep on moving your body. Często zapominamy o sobie samej. Ja często zapominam, bo instynkt jakoś sam tak działa, że zrobi wszystko, żeby moje dwie dziewczynki miały pierwszeństwo. Jak każdy, ja też potrzebuję przerwy, oddechu, wsłuchania się w potrzeby swojego ciała i duszy. Staram się być dobrą w stosunku do siebie, ale wymaga to wciąż sporej pracy. Lecz małymi kroczkami osiągnę to na pewno. Uśmiecham się, nawet kiedy jestem zmęczona jak cholera i chciałabym się zaszyć gdzieś pod kołdra, z książka, w samotności. Bo wiem, że ten czas nadejdzie, i ten spokojny, i ten fizycznie bardziej aktywny. Ale jest teraz super okazja zrobić coś dla siebie! #healthymamacampxbabybyann chcę tam być! L'importante è tentare, anche se poi ti ritroverai a bere il tuo #porridge anziché mangiarlo 😝 Comunque questo fallimento culinario mi ha ispirato ed oggi voglio dirvi qualcosa in più su di me e sulle mie smagliature! Se guardate bene la foto le notate😉 A differenza di ciò che molti potranno pensare non sono #postpartum ma stanno con me da molto prima e cioè dall'adolescenza. Benché io sia sempre stata magra per il resto della vita, tra i 13 e 16 anni avevo messo qualche kg di troppo. Probabilmente lo sbalzo ormonale ha aiutato ma la verità è che amavo mangiare schifezze. Ingrassa dimagrisci #ingrassa#dimagrisci alla fine la pelle si è lacerata e i segni sono visibili sulle mie cosce. Attualmente sto recuperando i danni causati da una #scorrettaalimentazione visibili e non.💪💪💪💪 Perché dirvi questo? Semplicemente perché sono reale, perché tutto quello che vi racconto nei miei profili è reale. Io sono così e non cerco la perfezione, quella la lascio volentieri agli altri. Io voglio solo stare bene con me stessa, sto rimodellando il mio corpo e riacquistando salute per ME! (la salute anche per la mia famiglia) A voi non interessa stare bene con voi stessi?! ☺️
