The trick with these kinds of offers, however, is to put something in place to make sure that your new clients don't walk out of your life forever after using your offer. - 1. Collect emails in your class registration process and send an email after class welcoming the new participants and requesting some feedback on the class. - 2. Always welcome new participants at the beginning of class and provide some variations for aspects of the class that you know are going to be more challenging. Do this by addressing the whole class and not singling out the newbees. _ 3. Take photos and videos in class and share them on social media after. Remind everyone to follow you on social and check out the snaps from the class they just took. If you see new participants following you, give them a shoutout for coming to try the class. - 4. Chat with new participants at the end of the class, before they leave. Get a feel for how what they thought of the class, answer any questions and give them a big 'you were awesome' feel the love boost. Coming to new classes can be scary. - 5. Send out a weekly email newsletter reminding your participants of class time, challenges, events and any other exciting things that are happening. If you don't have a lot happening you could simply send weekly inspiration and a class reminder. - 6. Don't make your intro offer a free pass. If a customer really wants to try the class they will be willing to pay. "When we are willing to stay even a moment with uncomfortable energy, we gradually learn not to fear it." ~Pema Chodron . Ooh what a great quote... Something I have been thinking about lately. We tend to push or run away from uncomfortable feelings, emotions or energy... Thinking this is not something we want to experience or feel, due to fear, patterning, etc. I think the more we can begin to explore these feelings, meet the edge of it, tip toe to the other side, approach with curiosity instead of fear... we will find that it is not as "bad" as we think. . The emotional charge we put behind these feelings will lessen and we can approach what is happening with a more neutral outlook. I think the more we practice we will find our lives to be a bit more peaceful and content. . Curiosity is key, I think! Whether we are curious of our emotions, feelings or our practices- yoga, movement, dance meditation. I think when we approach life with curiosity, we tend not to take things so seriously! . Synchronicity. Carl Jung wrote, synchronicity: “a meaningful coincidence of outer and inner events that are not themselves causally connected. The emphasis lies on the word meaningful.” Three weeks ago in a creativity course I am doing I was asked to write 20 things down that I enjoy doing. Then it asked which ones of them I’m not doing any of. I was pretty pleased to say that everything I do on a regular basis. Except one, hiking. So I texted a girlfriend in the hills to say maybe we can do that in the holidays but she was away. So I forgot about it. Yesterday as I tiredly didn’t want to get off the couch, we threw around ideas about what to do with the kids. No one could agree and we left it for another couple of hours until my friend made an executive decision to go to a beach and play on the rocks telling the kids they could see crabs. Despite torrential rain we ploughed on, along the beach and then were climbing around the rocks .... my whole body telling me that this was living, the beach, the hike, the rain and the great outdoors. It wasn’t until later I realized about my list and the synchronicity. And then “coincidence” after conincidence kept coming to me about things that have been happening just in the past few weeks. Trendy (noun): setting a trend or stylishly following the crowd. I hope no one ever calls our salon ‘trendy’. I hope we are never featured in the social pages alongside photos of the famous, elegant and desirable (though according to Agnelo, I am already two of those anyway, thanks, darling 😉) who attend Prana events. Real people thrill me. I love the bubbly anticipation and quirkiness of young men and women. I love being with women who’re raising their own families and share their lives with me. I love the women who have experienced all of this long ago and now find themselves in completely new territory. Real people teach and enrich me. Trendy? I don’t care for labels, and the fake standards we are all judged by. Whatever generation you identify with, whatever gender you are… I don’t want you to ever believe you don’t belong here. ✨I received an email today from a student that just finished our 6 week beginner course. This is an email that I receive (in some form or another) after every course from at least a few students .. ~ It goes something like this.. Hi Mel, thank you for the last 6 weeks with Tess, she is such an amazing teacher and I learnt so much. Really she is so awesome at what she does. However, I just don’t feel ‘ready’ to jump on in to a regular class. I dont have the confidence, im scared I won’t be able to keep up..yada yada yada ~ My reply always goes something like this...Hi lovely new yogi, yes Tess is bloody amazing huh, I completely agree. And yes, I understand your hesitation. However you are 💯 ready I promise. With all yoga classes, you turn up, take what lands and leave what doesn’t, smile and just enjoy being with your breath and moving your body.
