"Loveless [Нелюбовь] (2017)”, just as the title speaks for itself, is movie about lovelessness. 12-year-old Alyosha's parents decide to divorce. During this process, Alyosha's parents neglect him. His little heart can’t bear to call his home "home" anymore. Thus, he ends up leaving his home. His parents try to find him. Meanwhile, this search estranges them from each other instead of bringing them closer. In the beginning, it feels like this movie is going to focus on the child. However, it doesn't. It totally focuses on the parents. The child just represents the only thing they have or they have to have in common. So, it is about neglectful parenting. Although the film focuses on parenting, it also focuses on something else, that is metaphorical & political, towards the ending which is open-ended. In other words, Andrey Zvyagintsev doesn't only criticize neglectful mothers, but he also criticizes Mother Russia. “Loveless/Nelyubov” is another Oscar nominated Russian film directed by Andrey Zvyagintsev. At first, I had no idea this movie was directed by him. While watching the movie, I thought how familiar the directing & the cinematography felt. I was like I might have watched another film by either the director or the cinematographer & I was right. It turns out, I watched their previous film “Leviathan [Левиафан]”. Hence, once again, Andrey Zvyagintsev & Mikhail Krichman did a great job together. "Loveless" deserves more love with its great directing, brilliant cinematography & crafty narrative. #DecodingTheSong: 'Bismil' is a beautiful case of "drama within a drama" in film songs. It fits right into the film's narrative here. Haider is pushed to the point of insanity by the wedding of his mother to his uncle and he can see through the farce that it all is. But he cannot simply lay accusations at them - it would not only be mocked, but wouldn't match the intensity of his anger. The truth that can't be revealed in simple words, Haider laces it into a bewitching performance. He creates a farce of his own, turns their social celebration upside down by talking about the bloodshed behind this wedding. He begins sanely, the song initially talks about a wounded bird (Ghazala) finding a love-scented flower (Khurram) when he sings "Khusbu-e-Gul Me Ishq Bhara Hai". But it slowly grows more grave. Listen to the music at 03:00 when Haider sings about Bulbul's dreams being polluted, how Vishal Bhardwaj gives the music itself a slowly contaminating quality. Or how the choir sounds like the ominous approach of death at 04:00, turning into a victorious chant of rebirth at 05:00! The climax is astounding. It begins from that idea of rebirth at 05:00, and you can feel how this is a special moment for Bhardwaj the artist. Bhardwaj the musician is asking his orchestra to rack it up, the lyrics talk about the victory of truth, and Bhardwaj the director is preparing Shahid for a final leap of insanity, as the choir grips Haider. Before that leap comes one final sane plea by Haider to his mother at 05:30 - "Hosh Me Aa Jaa". The early lyrics now finally become "Khusbu-e-Gul Me Zeher Bhara Hai" Then a literal leap happens at 05:45 - with the music at its heaviest, Haider leaps off the stage, from his performance into real life. It is the ultimate revelation of truth by him, as he stops before Khurram, slinging mud at his face, as if saying to him "truth now buddy, this act was always meant for you" #IndiaFilmProject in association with @fablesoffilm

[Sunday 6-16-19 but really Saturday 6-15-19]: Late Night movie review!!! This movie was really good!!! You watch the rise and fall and rise of a late night tv host Katherine Newberry. Im not sure if Katherine is a real life person but even google cannot give me a solid answer. XD Topics such as minorities, white privilege, ageism, and other current topics get discuss in this film. Really enjoy the dialogue. Lines like "U dont have to like your boss and ur boss doesnt have to like you but be the person that ur boss needs" & my favorite line that keeps getting said was: "I hope i earned the privilege of ur time." Mmmm. Right in the feels. Emma Thompson was awesome in this! So was Mindy Kaling & the supporting cast! "Bro! Forget it! Can we talk about how actors from 'The Office' was in this movie? I thought only 'Kelly' from The Office was in this. But then when i saw 'Holly Flax' in this, i almost screamed like some fanboy." XD This movie was made by amazon studios..."so this what we doing Amazon? Out here buying wholefoods, making show exclusives and now movies to be show in theaters? Expanding you all's horizons and portfolio. (Whistles) I see yall. Mmmhmm." Sorry peeps. This review is all over the place. Late Night movie was really good, funny. I'd wanna see it again and probably get it on bluray. That's all for my confusing review. "Ja'ne". #LateNight#movie#film#comedy#funny#emmathompson#mindykaling#thefeels#feels#lifelessons#theoffice#references#amazonstudios#unofficialmoviereview#moviejunkie

Shaft (2019 • Rated R • 1 hour 51 min • directed by Tim Story) follows JJ Shaft who's been deeply affected by his father's absence is also hit with tragedy leading to the young Shaft turning to his father played by Samuel L. Jackson's father figure John Shaft for help in an investigation. ■ □ ■ Elements In The Film I enjoyed 🎞 🌟 Soundtrack features a variety The dynamic between Shaft played by Samuel L. Jackson and JJ played by Jessie Usher is so natural and fun. My favorite part was the discussion between Shaft and his father...where they discussed who JJ is based off his clothing and how that relates to who he is as a black man. Old generation vs millennials while also tackling the discussion element of what it means to JJ's personal development linking to his view on the black identity. 🌟I loved the quick pace, comedically discusses ultra violence and how an absent father can affect an adult long after forgiveness is given. □ ■ □ PRO'S 👍🎬 = The lead actor gives the story a new dimension as he's part of the FBI and being led by a personal loss fueling him to push standards... he also has great comedic timing. Richard Roundtree and Regina Hall were funny supporting characters with fleshed out personalities. CON'S 👎📼 = The soundtrack in the background can make a scene feel like a music video and less like a scene in a film. There were numerous times when the music pulled me out of the story. ● ○ OVERALL GRADE & THOUGHTS 🎬fresh new take on millennials vs traditional some would say old school ideals as the Shaft family were reunited through this murder mystery. Director Tim Story truly made Harlem a crime riddled landscape with many homages to the original Shaft legacy in the 70's. I'm going to give Shaft 2019 🎞 B+.

na vez lo has pensado, verdad?

Hey, everyone. The Dead Don’t Die ) is a comedy film directed by Jim Jarmusch and starring Bill Murray and Adam Driver. Two local policeman of a small town try to keep order as zombies terrorize their city. I didn’t enjoy this film. 😞 There are aspects of this film that I enjoyed. Driver and Murray have solid chemistry and comedic timing. The movie is strongest when they interact. I enjoyed the character Zelda, portrayed by Tilda Swinton. She is a katana wielding mortician that even more unusual than the zombies. I did like some of the social commentary in the movie. Unfortunately, this movie’s start is incredibly boring. The plot really doesn’t get moving until halfway through the second act. Much of this time is spent on characters merely talking. Some of this is interesting, but the majority is irrelevant to the plot. The movie does play on cliches of the genre, but makes one of the characters unbearable to accomplish that. Many of the characters felt redundant and their presences only helped make the movie more boring. Overall, The Dead Don’t Die didn’t entertain me. I appreciated the efforts of Driver and Murray, Swinton’s bizarre character, and some of the social commentary. I didn’t enjoy the snail’s pace of the plot, redundant characters, and heavy emphasis on conversations that may or may not be relevant to the plot. I feel the ingredients are here for a more entertaining film, but the execution fell short. I’m not going to recommend this film. 🚫 Thank you all once again for watching. Please like, follow, and comment to share your thoughts with me.

Score: 9.7/10

Score: 9.7/10 Stand out: Nick Robinson Based on the YA novel Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, Love Simon is about a teenage boy who falls in love with a mysterious boy he meets online, while he struggles with how to tell his family and friends that he's gay. Love, Simon is a refreshing and new take on the coming-of-age genre. This is possibly the first to feature a gay protagonist and cleverly shows how, even though we supposedly live in a more accepting society, it is still difficult and scary for people to come out because they could be abused for it. During the movie we regularly see another character who everyone knows is gay and nearly every time he is shown he's being bullied for who he is. Love, Simon shows that this is still a reality and it's why some people have so much trouble being who they are. I was bullied in school a lot and I find it nearly impossible to be myself outside of my own house. There is a mystery throughout the movie as Simon tries to figure out who Blue is, the person he has been emailing. We get to wonder who this person is along with Simon and try to figure it out too. I have read the book this movie is based on. I liked the book, but didn't love it and actually had trouble giving it my full attention. I had no such problem with the film. Love, Simon is fun and engaging from beginning to end. It has fantastic performances from the young cast and from Jennifer Garner and Tony Hale. There is an amazing sense of comedic timing, bringing a lightness and normalising homosexuality.

#MyPic#MyCollection#16Years#Dvd#DvdCollector#DvdCollection#MovieGeek#MovieJunkie#MovieCollection#MovieCollector#FilmGeek#FilmJunkie#FilmCollection#FilmCollector#Film#Films#Movie#Movies#MovieFan#MovieFanatic#FilmFanatic#FilmFan#InstaLike#InstaPic#Instagram#FollowMe !!

Men in Black: International is a 2019 action comedy film directed by F. Gary Gray. It stars Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson and Liam Neeson. The film is about Molly, a young girl who has aspired to become a Men In Black agent her whole life. Once she is recruited, she must work alongside Agent H to save the world from an evil threat. . This film tried way too hard to be Ragnarok and totally forgot it was a MIB film in the first place. It’s easily the worst film in the franchise, and it’s best if we the audience had a neutralizer ourselves to forget this film ever happened. . *POSITIVE* . KUMAIL NANJIANI: I went into this film thinking Thompson and Hemsworth would be the best part about it. I was wrong, although they did try their best. Who did steal the show though, was Kumail Nanjiani as Pawny, the CGI sidekick. He was easily the funniest and most likable character in the film. . *NEGATIVE* . PLOT: There really was no structure to this film. Straight Outta Compton remains Gray’s only good film, as he’s not impressed me with his efforts in MIB and Fast 8. The plot itself was paper thin and the end twist was so painfully obvious, that even an infant could have saw it coming. It was painfully predictable and barely held together, as the scenes just jumped from place to place. . SCRIPT: The dialogue in this film is non-existent. It’s pretty much 99.9% improvisation from the actors, which isn’t a good thing if you are over reliant on it. There were a ridiculous amount of jokes going astray and landing awkwardly, despite the fact Hemsworth and Thompson were trying to bring the “Ragnarok” vibe to this franchise. Not to mention, the characters themselves were dumb and unlikable. . SUMMARY: Acting: 2.5/5 Cinematography: 2/5 Plot: 1/5 Script: 0/5 Worth it?: 2/5 SCORE: 5.3/10 #meninblackinternational

#MyPic#MyCollection#Drive#RyanGosling.#BluRay#BluRayCollector#BluRayCollection#MovieGeek#MovieJunkie#MovieCollection#MovieCollector#FilmGeek#FilmJunkie#FilmCollection#FilmCollector#Film#Movie#Movies#MovieFan#MovieFanatic#FilmFanatic#InstaLike#InstaPic#Instagram#FollowMe !!

#HappyBirthday@imtiazaliofficial! . Imtiaz Ali is known for his unique way of telling stories that are close to his heart. He has always been appreciated for being true to his craft and not getting carried away by commercial success. But it is important to study and understand how Ali has earned this privilege through his interesting filmography put in our newly devised 'Filmmaker’s Graph' Ali debuted with Socha Na Tha (2005), which was a decent attempt to start off his career and it garnered good reviews but did terribly at the box office and went unnoticed. When he made his second film Jab We Met (2007) he corrected his decisions by marketing the film well and roping in a solid star cast. The film worked well and a new filmmaker was noticed by the whole nation. By his third film Love Aaj Kal (2009) he was recognized as one of the most sought after filmmakers who can make potboilers and entertain the audiences. From here, his journey took a turn. He started to make more personal and meaningful films which did not necessarily please the audiences but he managed to carve a cult following for the films. With the 4 quadrants of this graph, we can visually observe his journey. He has stayed away from Q2 which generally includes Bollywood mass entertaining films. His second and third films fall in the first quadrant ie. the potboiler films which gave him recognition and were important for him to earn his place in the industry. But his true zone is the fourth quadrant which includes some brilliant stories that were semi-hit or did not do well at the box office. Q4 is the zone which truly defines Ali’s Filmmaking. Q3 is the most dangerous zone for any filmmaker. Imtiaz had managed to be out of it for the most part of his career until Jab Harry Met Sejal (2017) released, which stays as an exception in his filmography. Looking back at Ali's illustrious career, it is delightful considering how he managed to make his place in the industry by hitting the right balance between classy and massy films and then went on to being true to his craft in the second half of his career. #IndiaFilmProject

My Non-Spoiler Review of THE DEAD DON’T DIE. This was an odd movie and not just because it has elements of horror mixed with Sci-fi with primarily comedy components. There are parts that I liked about this film but there are so many awkward moments that I was like: “What the hell was that?” The film had some movie references that worked but I especially liked the one with ADAM DRIVER (aka KYLO REN). The comedy was definitely a hit or miss though with more misses. TILDA SWINTON was perfect casting for her role in this and she is even stranger than any of her prior roles. BILL MURRAY was BILL MURRAY and again I enjoyed the small town horror environment just like last month’s film BRIGHTBURN. Also, there is a scene towards the end that has the two main characters being self-aware that they are characters in a movie which I found it kind of lame. Lastly, there is an explanation for the zombies suddenly bursting out of their graves which did not work for me. Ultimately, THE DEAD DON’T DIE had its comical and even some inspiring scenes but it’s dry humor will probably turn off most people. STREAM IT. Film is a love story between visual story telling and dreams 📽🎬 This is my first review of a book to film adaptation! The 2007 novel "Call Me By Your Name," by André Aciman tells the story of Elio and Oliver's developing romance in 1980's Italy. I read both the book and the novel, even though there are major differences between the book and the film (which I completely understand for time constraints and need to develop characters over the short span of a summer) I'll simply be reviewing the film today. ☆ ☆ Most Memorable Scenes Cinematically *No Spoilers* 📽 This film will always have a special place in my heart since it was one of the last films I saw before going away to college AND it was my first introduction to LGBTQ+ representation in cinema. I found the dance scene in the street as well as the clips of Elio and Oliver in the music room to feel dream like almost reminiscent as if the main character is recalling distant memories that are deeply cherished. 🎼 🌊 Pro's 👍🔅 Luca Guadagnino *director of the film* truly established room for the main character to develop throughout the film and I think there are many aspects of this film that people can relate to on some level. Also, the beautiful landscapes offered a lush backdrop to this unraveling love story doomed from the start. Con's 👎🌩 The middle of the film starts to drag a bit, but luckily picks up in the last 25 minutes before ripping out your heart strings in the end. ❄ ❄ OVERALL THOUGHTS: I was a blubbering mess at the end of this film and clutching my copy of the novel in a relatively empty film. Even though I purchased the film online for this review to rewatch it, the emotions were fresh when I rewatched the film as if for the first time. I read there will be a second film.. while I go see it? 💵 Take my money, theater! Cause this movie is an B+ 😁
