Work on those cheeky cheeks that fall asleep during the day when you're sat on them for too long. ⁣ ⁣ Necessary for most people this one, it doesn't take long and it's simple to do. After a minute or so of doing these slow, your butt should be on fire. ⁣ ⁣ Step 1. Lay on your back, feet flat on the floor and close enough to the bum that we can ALMOST touch our heels. (if you don’t have that level of mobility at this point don’t worry, do what you can).⁣ ⁣ Step 2. Tilt the pelvis forward so it’s in what we call a ‘posterior’ tilt. ⁣ ⁣ Step 3. Slowly round your bum up so that the spine gently lifts off the floor. Keep doing this until you’re body is in a nice straight line from knees to shoulders.⁣ ⁣ Step 4. Exhale through the mouth in the top position and pull the ribs down to feel the abdominals tighten. Clench the gluten (bum) as tight as humanly possible & hold for the exhale.⁣ ⁣ Step 5. Gently lower the hips to the floor, relax and repeat

Try standing on an unstable surface like a bosu ball on one leg and draw a big imaginary circle with one finger and see if you lose balance or not ...make sure your eyes are on your finger. We often feel disoriented, may also find it hard to balance than on the ground. This shows how much spatial awareness we have. This happens when we do some inversions as well. Spatial awareness is the ability to be aware of oneself in space. It is an organised knowledge of objects in relation to oneself in that given space. It also involves an understanding of the relationship of objects when there is a change in position, including when an object is rotated. Spatial awareness is an important part of overall perception, including depth perception. As kids we are given tasks and activities at schools to improve on all this but as we grow up, some of these abilities are lost or get stalled due to lil or no work towards it. And years later it becomes more evident in our day to day routine as well. We feel like we hve no control our bodies and that feeling sucks !! Which is why it’s important to do some body weight exs where you can connect with your body like yoga or any movement training. When I first saw someone doing a tuck balance (the one in this video) I thought it was easier because I already have strong shoulders but to my surprise it was harder than what I thought and I couldn’t even get my feet up all the way in the beginning. To add to tht, even if I got my feet up everything else that followed the movement was a disaster from landing and transitioning to another position. I felt so out of my element for the longest time coz I didn’t understand the awareness and the focus I need to work on. But slowly as I began to work more and more on movement, my body and my mind connected well along with my spatial awareness. Not tht it’s perfect now but the control is way better than what it was. . I see so many people with zero mobility to do the simplest movements like lunges and squats that’s coz nowadays most people focus on aesthetics these days but forget that fitness is mainly about that control and connection with your mind and body. #awareness#movementtraining

Falling leaf. A move that has been gaining popularity. When done right flows like a leaf falling from it branch, when done wrong is more like TIMMMBER! 🍃 Here a few pointer for u 😉 💚 Wait. If you twist to early ull end up on ur head! Is does have falling in the name after all. 💚 Push through your arms untill its time to tuck and roll. Bending ur arms just speeds up the falling were as if u extend and push through the arm and should ull buy ur self that extra second u need. 💚 Now chin to chest is great but if ur still finding ur self hitting flat spots in ur roll try chin to chest shoulder to knees to realy create that nice curve in the back. Hope that helps and here are a few ideas you can play with once you've got to grips with it 😁

My client has a hard time coordinating specific movements patterns together in order to run more efficiently so we kicked it up a notch and added some ladder drills to help with her movement. For all you mothers out there (and some daddas too), this is something you need to know.⁣ ⁣ Stop holding your baby, babba or bogey like this. You’re doing yourself no favours and actually developing bad habits & potential pain.⁣ ⁣ When holding your baby, you need to engage your abs & total core (pelvic floor too) to protect your back. You ideally need to have their tiny, cute little baby weight in your arms and let your posterior (back) muscles engage and take some load. ⁣ ⁣ YOUR HIPS SHOULD BE ALIGNED (horizontal when standing)⁣ ⁣ Not only will this make you stronger and fitter (no! You won’t turn into the hulk), but you’ll protect your back and hips from damage.⁣ ⁣ When your hips are shifted into this position, you’re all out of alignment. This is gonna Ef up your posture, make you a little wonky and hurt your back long term. ⁣ ⁣ So quit it!

{ NOT TODAY = НЕ СЕГОДНЯ } Действительно, сегодня я не чувствую себя на все 💯 сижу с заложенным носом, головной болью и больным горлом 🤧 Но самое странное в этом это - усталость 😑 усталость от болезни и нежелание чего-либо делать. Вроде бы голова говорит «Да ладно, поехали!» но нет, ничего не происходит. Любое движение в тягость, хочется лежать и спать, смотреть фильмы и читать книги. Этим я собственно и занимаюсь. Хоть я и люблю постоянно куда-то «гнать лошадей», понимаю, что сейчас эта тактика особо не сработает. Занимаясь раньше проф спортом, нужно было всегда быть в строю! Теперь же я понимаю, что всегда надо прислушиваться к своему организму и тому, как ты чувствуешь себя! Также и во время тренировок, всегда прислушивайся к себе и не обращай внимания что там делают другие. What a day it was @fit.bengaluru 2.0 !! My team @chaosfaktory & I, yet again, conducted a Parkour & Calisthenics workshop and it was so much fun. This completes my 4th of its kind session for this year. It was nice to see all the participants with such zeal to explore & learn new arts of fitness. Hope you guys are going to include some of the concepts in your training 🤟 . . Practiced some acro yoga under @nehakhincha & @amar_srividya. Great fun sesh. 😁 . . After attending a huge fitness convention in Anaheim last month, I came back with the realization that ‘fit’ people are not the most agile folk 😐 biggest thing I noticed was that the lateral hip and leg were so overdeveloped on most people that the pelvis lost its verticality and the sacrum was not free to swing in opposition when they walked. Kind of a Frankenstein looking gait throughout the convention 😬 maybe to many monster walks actually gives you a monster walk? 😂🤣👻 Here is a way of using the lateral leg and glute for stabilization as opposed to sideways action. This brings the medial leg into play (necessary for jumping and speed) which is seemingly underused in the ‘fitness’ world. #biomechanics#movementtraining#movementspecificity#adductors#magiccircle#fitness#hockeyskill

Behind the scene: It seems to be a trend going on right now with training all the time, several times a day and never taking a rest, and even less a recovery week (😱) because you just can't miss out on a training day! Don't get me wrong, I love training and am one of those training almost like that! 😅 It's my lifestyle - BUT - to be honest, just because I love it and that's what I do, it doesn't mean it's always fun or easy or even "healthy". During periods when I train a lot I very carefully plan my training so I can (hopefully) handle it and push it along side with work and actually live life a little bit.. I also make sure to have recovery weeks and have breaks - I don't train like this all year, it just wouldn't work in the long run! I train two-three times a day almost every day, BUT! Only for a few weeks and then I have a recovery week where I let my head and body rest and tune in (and out) to make sure I'm not pushing it too hard! Also, and very very importantly, not every session is maximum strength or makes me totally drained of energy! Some sessions I only focus on techniques, movement, flexibilty/mobility or plain prehab. There's NO WAY my body or head would feel good if I drained myself all the time! 🙅🏼‍♀️ How would I have enough time to recover? When would my muscles and nerves have time to heal, recover and get stronger? They wouldn't! And that's what a lot of people are missing out on.. and then they wonder why they're not getting stronger or why they're always so tired/weak.. 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️ . And let me tell you, even though I planned it carefully - it's HARD! it's mentally DRAINING! it's EXHAUSTING! Forcing myself to train or climb when my body is screaming and aching and my head is so tired it doesn't want to pull me out of bed in the mornings! I have to decide in the evening what I'm gonna do, how I'm gonna act and what I'm gonna feel in the morning to make sure it'll happen! I keep reminding myself of my goals, why I'm doing it and of the recovery week coming up! 😅🙏 Take care in the training jungle or take help from someone you trust to lead you through it! 👊💖💫 @3rdrocking@tenayaclimbing#climbing4life

Not only do we need to stretch, but we also need to STRENGTHEN muscles through our active range of motion (I’ve mentioned this before in the stretching principles posts).⁣ ⁣ Just because a muscle is tight, doesn’t mean it’s strong. Sometimes, along with stretching, you need to learn to re-engage muscles to help protect it in future, and (often) protect the joint or area it is attached or surrounding.⁣ ⁣ Here’s a little hip flexor example of said technique, and relevant still to you desk warriors. If you’re sat on your a** all day, those hip flexors will shorten and become tight, but because they’re so relaxed and at ease in this position, they’re also likely weak. This means not only is your hip joint going to be shifted out of place by the tightness, but you have lose your stability too. HELLO back pain/ hip pain/ tingly legs pain⁣ ⁣ Pro Tips:⁣ ⁣ You can use a resistance band or just stick to body weight to start with, whatever suits you best.⁣ ⁣ Fully control the leg movement to work the targeted muscles (no flailing).⁣ ⁣ Use a wall for balance if you’re a bit wobbly
