This is just a lil something I found from 6 years ago that I posted that I think is still just as relevant...I CHALLENGE you all to consistently strive to better yourself on a REGULAR basis not only through working out but also through your eating and drinking habits. Think 90-10. 90% of the time you eat healthy and get enough sleep and stay away from alcohol and 10% of the time u allow yourself to go outside of your regular routine aka drinking, staying out late, eating different food than u normally do etc. Make sure you are taking care of yourself mentally/emotionally as well (I think a lot of u forget about that part and its just as important). Find ways to distress so things in life don't build up and "explode". I promise that if you make being healthy and taking care of yourself physically, emotionally and mentally a priority ALL YEAR ROUND, you will live a MUCH more fulfilling and truly happy life!!! Work on making yourself a BETTER YOU and focus on what YOU want for YOU and everything else in life will fall into place!!! As adults we know better and yet we don’t always do better. We choose the instant gratification over what will give us the long term, bigger gain. We choose sleep over our workout 🛌, the junk food over the healthy food 🍰, or less sleep so we can stay out late💃🏽🕺🏼. While all of these things are ok occasionally, if we’re always choosing them then were going for the instant gratification. • Sure it feels good to hit the snooze button... or does it? It feels good in the moment but if you spend the rest of the day beating yourself up about missing a workout or rushing around in the morning and forgetting things- was it worth it?! • Sure the junk food tastes good in the moment. But if you spend the rest of the day beating yourself up about eating it or having self hate & negative self talk about your body- was it worth it? • Choose to do the things that make you feel good in the long run, long after you’ve done them! I was so excited when I got all of the ingredients because I hadn't had it in a while and was ready for it. Well, days went by, weeks went by and months went by but I never found the time to make it. So, one day I pulled all of the ingredients out and placed it on my counter. I knew the date was approaching soon that it would expire so I was preparing myself to make it. But once again time got away from me and the next time I checked it, it had already EXPIRED! . I had EVERY INTENTION of making those treats but I NEVER MADE the time to do it. #mercy Let me say it AGAIN for the people in the back! Sometimes we have EVERY INTENTION to USE OUR TALENTS AND GIFTS but we actually have to MAKE TIME to DO IT. Did you know that your GIFTS EXPIRE? Have you ever heard the phrase "use it or lose it"? This is called life. 📌. I am thankful I get to do all these things and have the freedom to choose to do many others. However, it is very important we take care of ourselves or pretty soon, we will need to have others do them for us. 💪. I’ve always heard; take care of yourself first so you can take care of others. Our big girl has been out of sorts the last couple of nights unable to explain why. I asked her to draw a picture and see if the words came afterwards, the power of art is a wonder. We were able to discuss her worries and put them into perspective. Turns out when your six going on an adventure around the world is exciting but the thought of your friends forgetting you or being upset you are not around needs to be factored in too. We came up with a few ideas on how to settle her mind and hey presto a good night sleep was soon upon her. I couldn’t do it either, but with some help and practice I can do it easily now. Guys, I have some really bad news.. Unfortunately you can't expect to see the results you want from busting your ass at the gym 3-5 times/week yet don't change anything else in your other 23 hours.. In my experience, those that have seen the most outstanding results are the ones that have implemented small yet significant LASTING changes. Eg: 1. Instead of waking up at 7 am and getting ready for work, waking up at 6:30 am and going for a half an hour walk. 2. Rather than drastically changing everything they eat, they start with changing the portion size and then make SMALL, consistent changes to their food. 3. Instead of hanging at the pub for a Sunday sesh every weekend drinkin beers and eating pizza, create a fun, new tradition liiiiiiike, footy on the beach and beers! 4. Sleep is super important but don't try to go from 6 hours to 8, start with 15 minutes extra and nail that. My point here is, don't think that the results come from your 3-6 hours in the gym each week, it's the small, consistent efforts in the total 168 that make the real change. @bsmartpix - This was May 2018 with Cali girl! 😭😍 So little. We need to do this again. Xx
