Back in my local Gym. Feels good to be back Pilates was a fun little adventure however nothing feels better then actually weights and feeling that soreness after a work out. Once the whole circuit is complete rest for 1.30 mins or till your heart rate ❤️ become normal before starting another set of this circuit. . Complete 3 sets of this circuit. You can do it any where in 20 - 25 mins time. Weather you are pregnanté 🤰🏼(like yours truly)or not, these are some foundational movements in my training that are functional for training a strong body. I also have my clients do them. 👊🏻You can always add intensity by adding weights or reps. Building up the back of your legs is one of the most misunderstood aspects of body recomposition, however when you are patient and take an informed approach, you can get amazing results. It’s not about circuit training, low carbs and cardio, it’s about muscle development, adequate calories and strength. I could write an essay about this but I’m highlighting the most important aspects here 👇🏼👇🏼 ✨ 1: MUSCLE DEVELOPMENT - muscle development in the glutes (bum) and hamstrings (back of your thigh) is what creates the curved shape. The more development you have, the more dramatic these curves become, but you have to do specific strength training to make this happen as most of us women weren’t blessed with this shape naturally. The stronger you get over time, the less body-fat and cellulite you will carry with these body composition changes. This is especially true when accompanied with a healthy diet 🌱 ✨ 2: LIFTING TECHNIQUE - Women tend to lose their glute strength during puberty, and when this is not actively corrected, these muscles ‘switch off’. Lazy glutes hinder hip stability, thus hindering muscle development. Compound and hip-hinge movements are best for improving these muscles but they MUST be learned correctly first, which often involves warm-up and mobility exercises ✨ 3: ADEQUATE CALORIES - most women under-eat, limiting the fuel available to recover from training (and to build muscle in general). This particularly applies when you are training legs WELL, as good technique utilizes more of your muscle mass than average technique, and increases your need further for adequate calories. Adequate calorie consumption also ensures a healthy metabolism, which aids in lowering body-fat over time. ✨ This picture is of one of my long-term clients Emma. There are a couple of years between these photos. The training was focused on building strength through the posterior chain - the glutes, back, and hamstrings. She built this shape over time by increasing food, training hard, whilst competing in powerlifting and bodybuilding. You need a starting point to measure improvement. This chart should help give you a rough estimate of where you are currently at in terms of body fat %. _ What is body fat %❓The percent of fat tissue vs fat free tissue. _ How to measure body fat %❓ There are a few different methods that can be done to determine your body fat percentage: 1️⃣A dexa scan, which is the most valid and reliable method for testing body fat. However, this method is not easily accessed and usually pretty expensive. 2️⃣ Bioelectric Impedance - which can be found at most gyms and is usually a less expensive option than the dexa scam. 3️⃣Skinfold Calipers - this is the least expensive option, and only requires a set of calipers to carry out the process. This can be done by a train professional such as a personal trainer. _ If your goal is to reduce body fat %, your focus needs to be on consistent dieting, weight training, and quality sleep. So here’s a tip, go see a someone qualified in the injuries specific type, and trust the process, do the rehab exercises and don’t overdo it or you’ll risk making it worse.
