Made friends with some Japanese macaques, also known as snow monkeys because they live in snowy areas many months of the year. No other nonhuman primates live in a more northern or colder climate. To warm up they’ll take a soak in the natural hot springs and the mamas cuddle the cute little babes in their bellies. They often sleep holding hands or feet. This troop lives freely along the river in the “park” coming and going as they please. I love them and could watch them monkey around for hours! #ilovejapan#japanesemacaque#🇯🇵

This monkey is 10 months old.
