Music: “Without Me” Cover by @aimlowerband Deadlifts (Conventional) Hey everyone! So yesterday I recorded myself deadlifting and ended up doing 3 sets of 6 reps at 140 lbs. The first video is my first set, and then swipe to see my second and third if you would like 😁 There are a few different types of deadlifting, I am doing the conventional/standard way here. Some important info when it comes to deadlifting (conventional): 1️⃣Main muscles worked: Glutes, Hamstrings, Quads 2️⃣ Spine/neck should be in a neutral position (not arched) 3️⃣Knees aligned with your ankles and shoulder width apart 4️⃣Hands wider than shoulder width in a pronated grip (both over) - I strongly dislike using mixed grip and highly recommend against it due to the risks of muscle imbalances (in the long run), bicep tears, etc. From an anatomy standpoint on how our muscles work, I personally do not see any benefit outweighing the risks. A lot of people like to use mixed grips because you can lift more since the bar is more secure in your hands/won’t roll. HOWEVER, I hope seeing me deadlift 140 lbs with a pronated grip, will come to show you all that you can get strong WITHOUT using a mixed grip. I’m not a big person at all, I’m only about 5’3” and weigh between 106-113 lbs (depending on the season, my muscle gains, etc.). 5️⃣Try to control as you go down vs. letting gravity just pull you down so you work your muscles more 6️⃣ please excuse the constant re-gripping, I’m a small person which means my hands are not that big 😅 #deadlift#strongwomen#fitgirl#motivation#fitnessmotivation#bodybuilding#strongissexy#safetyfirst#fitfam#teamfit#lululemon#sweatcollective#korafitness#korafitnessambassador#legday#instafit#instagood#supportlocalbands#tinybutmighty#livelovefitnessllf

I’m usually not a big fan of weird variations when it comes to lat pull down and things like it but this one did leave me sore the day after so I thought it would be worth the mention. How it’s preformed: - twist to a side(either side works) pull your arm down so the bar is at an angle and do a normal pull down. By keeping your inside arm bent you leave the muscle contracted through the movement and it really intensifies the burn. -rotate to the other side and repeat -turn to the center and burnout🔥 • Try this one out and give me some feedback on how you like it!
