Rice Krispies Treats - Birthday Cake 🎂 ---------------------------------------------------- Wasn't sure this was worthy of a review,but here we go anyway. Rice Krispies Treats (called Squares in the UK) are a classic product. I remember eating them as a little kid, but it's been many years since I had one, and I've never tried an American one. Funny enough, many bodybuilders eat these. Apparently they're a good carb source when cutting. So practically a health food right!? 😂 Birthday Cake products always appeal to me, so let's check it out. ---------------------------------------------------- The packaging is a little off, I don't know, it feels like it's missing something. Maybe these were supposed to come in a multipack though? So that would explain it. The bar (if you can call it) looks so good though,bright colourful sprinkles, and an icing drizzle. It is tiny however, which explains the low calories. ---------------------------------------------------- Now the bar only took like 30 seconds to eat so I can't remember a whole lot about it 😂. Really light and crispy, with a bit of sticky chewiness from the marshmallow that holds it together. The sprinkles add a great crunch and the birthday cake flavour was actually spot on. It nailed that sweet cake frosting taste. ---------------------------------------------------- I really didn't expect much from this, but it was so tasty and I enjoyed it a lot honestly. You cant go wrong with a classic snack like this, especially when you throw birthday cake into the mix. NUTRITION Day #5: Moderation ~~ Now that we’ve covered the macros and water intake, we’ll take a look into overall ‘diet’, which is a term that often carries a negative, restrictive connotation even though it is defined as anything a person consumes. ~~ Schedules, misinformation from the media, cravings, and a whole myriad of other reasons make it difficult for many to maintain a healthy diet. With that said, a little grace and moderation goes a very long way! Here are some ideas: ~~ 1) The 80/20 or 90/10 rules: Which are simple ratios, where you mostly eat foods that are nutritious but save space for those decadent foods that make you happy or light up the soul! Again, 80-90% of your intake should be nutrient dense foods, mostly plant based with healthy fats and protein; and the other 10-20% of your diet can consist of things that you love which may not be the highest in nutrients (e.g. ICE CREAM!). ~~ 2.) The 3-bite rule: This one is great for parties and events with lots of tempting treats! If there’s a food you know isn’t great for you, but you want some, allow yourself 3 bites. This is based on the psychological idea that the first and last bites of whatever it is you’re eating are the most satisfying, and each bite in between is equal in level of satisfaction. This also helps support the previous tip! ~~ 3.) Meal Prep: This one really helps you know exactly how much of each ingredient goes into your food, minimizes stress around finding a healthy meal during the day, and even saves money! Choose a day that works for every week to plan out your meals, and then schedule one or two consistent prep times so you have your food ready to go. This also helps control portions and select the most nutritious preparation styles and ingredients. Plus, food tastes even better when you’ve made it yourself. ~~ These three tips can be game changers. I saw the new hazelnut milk from @innocentireland when shopping in my local Tesco last week. I had never tried hazelnut milk before and I loved that this one had only four ingredients (swipe right!) and to me it just looked delicious even in the bottle. 💚 It tastes absolutely amazing! I’ve been heating it up and just drinking it by itself as a hot drink before bed (it’s really nice!), I’ve had it in tea and coffee and it was lovely and I’ve had it with my cereals and it’s really good too.
