My oldest son stole my phone this evening {as he often does} to play games and came across this picture. He said, “Are both of these you? What did you do to your face?” (pointing to the pic on the left) . Ahhhh, sweet innocence. . A little offended I responded, “what do you mean? That’s my face.” . He said, “no...it’s not you. You’re the one over here.” (pointing to the right) . I created this collage thinking I might post something, but decided it wasn’t really that big of a difference. . As much as I love training, I haven’t wanted to at ALL this week so far. It’s like pulling teeth to get me to train but once I’m here, I put in the work, stay focused, and crush my lifts . . The motivation to workout won’t always be there, especially if your only motivation is external. The want to improve has to come from within. At some point it becomes a habit and discipline that will keep you going. Juggling a busy schedule and staying on track with your health and fitness g
. . Juggling a busy schedule and staying on track with your health and fitness goals can be daunting. Life gets chaotic, I get it! There are many things that can knock you off track, but there are also just as many tools available to you to keep you going full steam ahead. . One thing I know many people dread doing and often “don’t have time for” is ᴍᴇᴀʟ ᴘʀᴇᴘ. I understand it can be overwhelming when you first begin. But I promise it will end up saving you time in the end! As with anything, once you form a habit and create a routine, it gets easier and you get better at it as you go! A couple hours of prep on the weekend will undoubtedly save you time during the work week, alleviate the stress of meal-planning, allow you to avoid poor choices on-the-go, and ultimately set you up for success no matter what your goals are. . Here are a few things I find really add to the efficiency of my weekly meal prep: . 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲: Stick to 2-4 protein/carb/fat sources (you can alter these every few weeks or so, but it makes prepping a heck of a lot easier when your meals stay generally consistent) . 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗸 𝗶𝘁 𝗨𝗽: If there’s anything you are able to prep in advance and freeze, do it!! Dedicate a day to a mass-prep and you will thank yourself for weeks on end! Cook, weigh and portion out your protein sources, pop em in Ziplocs and freeze them in freezer bags, with a week’s worth of meals in each. Then all you’ve gotta do is grab, unthaw, add some fresh veg and carbs and you’re ready for that week. . 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝘀: It makes it a lot easier when you can have rice in the Instapot, veggies on the stove top and fish/chicken in the oven. You’d be amazed how quickly you can get everything cooked by being a little versatile! . 𝗔𝗱𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝕡𝕚𝕫𝕒𝕫: Just because you prep everything plain-jane doesn’t mean you have to eat it like that! You can add ‘variety’ to your meals by packing your favorite seasonings, making some quick and easy dressings/sauces and eating the same meal in different ways. I’ve listed some examples below 👇🏽 .

Here’s a little peak at my home gym setup. 😂 Life on the road makes it tough to keep on top of my workouts but I know how important fitness is to my health and happiness, so I make it happen. Yea people at our campsites look at me funny when I’m outside working out. I’m sure they think I have a few screws loose, and they’re probably right. 🤗 The message here is to prioritize fitness and wellness in your life. There will always be distractions and it might not always be convenient for you. Whether you hit the gym for an hour a day, or just do a quick 15 minute circuit at your house, make it a PRIORITY in your life. Tracking Tuesday: A weekly screenshot from my personal health spreadsheet.⁠ ⁠ Last week's health score was 90%. I didn't perform terribly in any one category, but slightly underperformed in many categories last week due to travel. But considering I was out of town for 5 days, I'm pretty happy with this score.⁠ ⁠ Calories were a little high this week. But when I got back and weighed in after a few days, weight gain was negligible and body fat was the same as before my trip, so that was good.⁠ ⁠ Nutrition was good this week. A benefit of visiting my parents is that they eat extremely healthy so there are always plenty of fruits and vegetables at every meal.⁠ ⁠ Sleep was on track. I slept pretty consistently this week.⁠ ⁠ Steps were slightly below target this week despite having a very active weekend. I did a 11.6 mile training run Saturday and played a soccer game on Sunday. I had a couple of very low step days in the middle of the week due to the work conference I attended. I spent most of my time in the car or in a conference room and didn't get an opportunity to take my normal morning and afternoon walks.⁠ ⁠ Training was also lower this week because I missed my Wednesday gym workout and didn't do my usual abs isolation workout. His teacher tells me my little guy is likely “gifted”. Yay. But. He’s also a perfectionist and gets down right angry when he doesn’t execute something perfectly first attempt. I shrank just a tad. That miiiight be me in him, Y’all. I’m an achiever. I just am. I do nothing half way and when others make excuses I’m already almost done and on to the next task and making a spreadsheet for how we could all be more efficient. So yeah. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵?! 𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘬, 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦....⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Transformation Tuesday!!!!!! But no transformation picture yet, because I am doing a new workout program and I’m already 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆 it! The workout warrior in me is going to be challenged both physically and mentally with this program. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Tomorrow is a rest day and the creator himself said “𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲” so imma listen to him and sleep in a hour and not workout 😳. It’s all good though I’ll be more intentional with my time tomorrow and dive into my reading as well as do my bible study and prayer journal and grocery shop and and and...looks like tomorrow will be a busy day after all 😂⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I can’t wait to see the progress I will make. Just within the last week I have already learned so much about how I need to eat better in order to succeed at this program...it’s probably why I like it so much already. I am looking at this program as a “𝐫𝐞-𝐝𝐨” {if you will} to my college athlete training days because welp I definitely didn’t fuel my body right then 🤦🏽‍♀️⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Y’all will have to keep up with my day tomorrow on stories to make sure I took the day off 🧐 which I will! Stay warm with this DELICIOUS Spicy Thai Soup: *2-3 cups of chicken, shredded and cooked *1 onion, diced *1tbsp fresh grated ginger *3 cloves of garlic *1 thinly sliced red pepper *8-10 mushrooms, sliced *1 jalapeno pepper (optional) *1 tbsp Chile paste *4 cups chicken broth *1 can coconut milk *1 piece of fresh lemongrass *1 lime *Fresh cilantro *Green onions -Saute all vegetables in some ghee -Add chili paste and cook for another minute -Add chicken broth, coconut milk, lemon grass and cooked chicken. -Simmer soup for about 10 minutes. -Garnish your bowl with fresh lime juice, green onions and cilantro!

Like room temp butter and hot knife cutting through for that warm bread. Why does it always go back to food Mya? Lol. Try doing the classic underswitch but as slow as you can. Your muscles are going to be screaming "hiiiiiyaaaah!!". This is such a fun way to test your core strength and stability. Ok my first ever live Masterclass well off with a bang this morning. ✴ MY KIND OF DINNER ✴ 🔸️SUPER SIMPLE TO MAKE🔸️AFFORDABLE 🔸️HEALTHY 🔸️SOOOO YUMMY . •Salmon •Veggies •Dash of soy sauce •Sea salt •Pepper •Tiny bit of Chipotle . ●Season salmon with salt & pepper and bake in the oven on 175°C for about 20min. In the meantime steam your veggies in the microwave for about 5min. Put in the bowl add dash of soy sauce. Top up with shredded salmon and dressing if required. I love smokey chipotle! 👌 I usually cook enough for about 3-4days. Devide into Tupperware and keep refrigerated. My portion is 1 salmon fillet and 1.5cups of veggies (that can vary depending on your requirements and current goals). 🙌 HAPPY WEDNESDAY 🙌 . . #fitfood#healthyfood

This picture perfectly sums up my life. Constant yo yo and back and forth with my weight. Left is my biggest (255lbs) next to that was my thinnest (170lbs) , the third picture is about 20lbs gained (190lbs) and the far right is now. Almost gained most of it back for a grand d total of (230lbs). I cant tell you why after succeeding, I let this happen. Dont think I could begin to explain it. Stress of life, pull of food addiction, certain medical things that get used as excuses. These add up just like the pounds do. I saw this picture on right from the fair and saw that person I thought I'd never see again. It's not about looks 100%, I feel run down, insecure, aged and tired. It's time to get my act together. And every time I documented it it seemed to help. Never had many followers but mainly was for me and to gain motivation from others.
