Ford Mustang Boss 429 (1969-1970) The Boss 302 was created to meet Trans Am rules and featured distinctive hockey-stick stripes, while the understated Boss 429 was created to homologate the Boss 429 engine. The Ford Mustang Boss 429 was brought about out of Ford's need to qualify 500 examples of its new racing engine for NASCAR. Ford shoved the big block “428 cubic inch unit, 7.0lt Cobra Jet engine into the Mustang giving it 375hp and a 0-60 mph, in 6.8sec. Never quiet as quick as the Shelby Cobra, they could still smoke the tyres and get to the 1/4 mile in under 14sec. The Boss 429 came with the Mustang's plushest interior decor and an 8000-rpm rev-counter. They were kept reasonably plain outside compared to later models and it came with a hood scoop, front spoiler, and Magnum 500 wheels and simple decals. To give it a bit more of an edge, Ford refused to add either air conditioning or automatic transmission. Given the quality of the car and components, its not surprising that the Mustang Boss 429 was the most expensive non-Shelby Mustang. Part of the extra expense incurred in building the Boss was a reworked front suspension to fit the big semi-hemi 429. Unschöne Dinge müssen hier auch rein. Was würdet ihr kurzfristig machen? Der zweite Winter in Folge ungeschützt und die dürftige Lackierung des Vorgängers macht uns zu schaffen. Wir müssen täglich fahren. Also erstmal luftdicht die Kanten mit fett einschmieren bei -10 grad. Da wartet im Frühjahr viel Arbeit auf uns. Geld ist nicht groß vorhanden, deswegen muss ich das mit meinem Hobbywissen erstmal selbst machen ohne Halle 💩. Rost abschleifen, komplett die Stellen mit Rostschutzgrundierung bearbeiten und dann Matt schwarz wieder drauf. Spachteln müsste ich an 4-5 Stellen glaube ich auch, aber das sollte lieber ein Fachmann machen. Hochglanzlackieren wäre zwar auch okay, aber ist mit der Klarlackprozedur doch etwas aufwendiger, oder? Ford Mustang Fastback (1965) . The first-generation Ford Mustang appeared on US streets in 1964 and continued on production for nine years until the Fuel crisis of 1973. In those early years of the swinging 1960’s, Ford were looking to liven up their car line-out’s image and inject a bit of sporty vigor into their range. The Mustang was a marketing sensation, it appealed to the post war baby boomers sense of style, it came with a price tag that they could afford, and offered them lots of cheap thrills along the way.  Demand was sensational from the beginning with sales of 100,000 units in the 1st four months and a staggering 681,000 – an industry record – by the end of 1965. The Mustang became known as the ‘Pony Car’ on account of its famous emblem, the one that depicts a racing stallion on its grille. While it shared many of its underpinnings with its stablemate, the Ford Falcon, the Mustang was all new on top and was aimed at the compact car segment. The basic range came with a “170 cubic inch unit, 2.8lt” engine mated to a 3-speed automatic, while the V8 models got distinctive badges on the front wing that listed the engine’s capacity, be it either the “260 cubic inch unit, 4.3lt” or  the “289 cubic inch unit” 4.7lt V8, inscribed over a wide “V.” The following year, Ford updated its engines for the Mustang, a “200 cubic inch unit, 3.3lt” unit was added offering 120hp, gone was the old “260” from the Farlane and replaced with the more powerful “C-code” engine offering some 200hp, “289 cubic inch unit, 4.7lt” engine featuring a twin carburettor set up. Two more powerful four-barrel carburettor versions were available, one as an “A-code” offering some 225hp, the other one the”Hi-Po”, offering up to 271hp from the “289 cubic inch unit, 4.7lt”, from the “K-code” engine. The Ford Model T is an automobile produced by Ford Motor Company from 1908 to 1927. It is generally regarded as the first affordable car that allowed individual transportation for the common middle-class American citizens and spread worldwide soon after. Main reason for the success could be Ford's efficient factory process, including assembly line production instead of individual hand crafting. Although credit for the development of the assembly line belongs to Ransom E. Olds with the first mass-produced automobile, the Oldsmobile Curved Dash in 1901, the tremendous advancements in the efficiency of the system over the life of the Model T can be credited almost entirely to the vision of Ford and his engineers. Although Ford classified the Model T with a single letter designation throughout its entire life and made no distinction by model years, enough significant changes to the body were made over the production life that the car may be classified into several style generations. The one you see on the pictures is the last modification of year 1926. This design change made the greatest difference in the appearance of the car. The hood was enlarged, with the cowl panel no longer a compound curve and blended much more with the line of the hood. The distance between the firewall and the windshield was also increased significantly. This style is sometimes referred to as the "high hood". Another legendary car representing the early era of mass production automobiles. The Ford Model A was the second successful vehicle model for the Ford Motor Company, after its predecessor, the Model T which I've posted a few weeks ago. First produced in 1927 it replaced the venerable Model T, which had been in production for 18 years. The Model A was the first Ford to use the standard set of driver controls with conventional clutch and brake pedals, throttle, and gearshift. Previous Fords used controls and starting system that had become uncommon and archaic to modern drivers. The Model A's fuel tank was situated in the cowl, between the engine compartment's fire wall and the dash panel. It had a visual fuel gauge, and the fuel flowed to the carburetor by gravity. A rear-view mirror was optional. In cooler climates, owners could purchase an aftermarket cast iron unit to place over the exhaust manifold to provide heat to the cab. A small door provided adjustment of the amount of hot air entering the cab. Also Model A was the first car to have safety glass in the windshield. The Soviet company GAZ, which started as a joint venture between Ford and the Soviet Union, made a licensed version from 1932 to 1936.
