Here's some of the best one's I've heard over the years... . - Wearing a jumper to "sweat more"...Both sweating and soreness are not indicators of a good workout, period!. . - "Eating late at night will make you put on weight" - incorrect, only if your energy balance is favouring a surplus. Meal timing plays no importance in this instance and in fact may actually help you LOSE fat! . - "I need to do cardio to lose fat" , "I'm doing fat loss stuff" - NO!...FUCKKK! With a plethora of various studies have we not established that this isn't the case? (Maybe we need a better way to project research findings 🤔) . - Doing stomach exercises to lose stomach fat. STOP!!! . - Stretching before a workout. Time and place with this one but for your average, strength training gen pop person, don't do it. Post workout is great and has many benefits, but all you're doing pre workout is relaxing and weakening your muscles. . - "Heavy weights bulk you up" WHERE!?!?! Show me one "bulky" girl in the gym (not enhanced) all the ones who lift heavy look 10 times better than the treadmill walkers and crunch ghouls. . The nerves yet excitement to join and try something new. The shortness of breath, struggling to run on sand, the animal movements. Ugh animal movements 😑not being able to clean a 17kg sand bag (when I thought I could) being way outside my comfort zone and my first benchmark being 9minutes. NOW......I sprint on sand and love to run on it, I clean a 30kg bag, I crave “most” the animal movements #hate🦡 I still get out of breath but enjoy it and my benchmark is 6.45minutes and I actually run for fun 😱in my spare time. Welcome to this Arts Feature.....a week detailing an arts project, in this case related to evolution of the self..... See other posts this week for more details of the process & journey behind the Well of Bottled Emotion from idea to installation. Each open bottle simply contains a note resting on crystals & shells which represents an aspect of my unconscious. These issues/aspects have over the years raised to the surface, been acknowledged, integrated, forgiven & released, no longer impacting me negatively. The installation of the open bottles was smooth. The weather was clear, calm & light reflected playfully in the tank. The constructed stone towers appeared stable but were also quite fragile. Too much movement in the waters while moving around them put them at risk of falling down. They each held an open bottle balanced on top. These bottles/issues were at peace in me & could no longer make ripples in my emotional field. Instead they rose out from my emotions (the water) delicately as steady, stable lessons learned from life. Crystals are thought to be great allies in our healing process. They can aid & assist us, merging energy with ours, bringing unconscious issues to the fore for processing. They are a modality I often use working with private clients, so its no accident that they should be part of the work. All the crystals used in this exhibit are part of the collection of stones I use while working with clients. P.S. It is another new day, a blank slate, a chance to do what you couldn’t do yesterday. I woke up with a headache and stomach pain this morning and I have found out that the culprit is stress🙈 I did not even realize how much I was stressing till my body showed me. . My plan for the day is to destress myself and try to relax and figure out what I am stressing about and hoe to fix it, it is not the best way to wake up in the morning but I am going to stay positive today🤩 .
