it’s tough out there rn, some heavy energies surrounding the collective. I know those 🔥🔥 are definitely feeling it right now, some purging, some challenges, some ascension. one wave is at the stage of allowing themselves to ascend and rise, another is being called to go within and get in touch with their feminine energy/essence, another is being called to take care but also take action & face their fears and go after what they want and what is meant for them. we all have our own personal challenges and stages that we’re in at this time // for me, my life is the tower. shit’s blowing up in my face, I’m being called to move on and let go and have faith, being called to face my fears and go after what is fulfilling, letting go of what doesn’t serve and allowing in what does. I know big change is on the horizon, I know happy times are ahead, I know there’s better support and connection out there for me soon. I know what’s coming, I feel it in my bones and my soul. ascension is just ascension, yo. lots of tears, lots of fear, lots of exhaustion. but it’s always for the highest good 🙏🏻

When people see a loved one hurting in some way, they naturally give suggestions on what they think will help with coping or improving their circumstances medically/physically/emotionally. This comes from a good place. It’s innate within all of us to do this. We want to relieve suffering.👍🏻 . When we do this, tho, it must be done with patience, insight, and without force. It’s critical (to the person’s wellbeing who you’re trying to help) to consider why you’re making the suggestion you are. LOOK INWARD. Is it because it’s worked for you❓Because you read it should work❓ Because you’re grasping at anything you can think of because of how helpless you feel❓ Or, maybe, you’re suggesting something that has worked before for the person suffering…(here’s the thing- this last one is important and likely the most useful. When people are coping with a trauma, they often forget the effective coping skills they have because of the trauma. Damn 🧠 …) Suggestions have to be reasonable and u have to consider the gravity of &the factors that come along with whatever it is the person is dealing with. Cancer (insert any major 👎🏻 life event/loss/illness) shatters our 🌎 - whether you’re the fighter or the spouse. Consider whether the person is open to suggestions or simply trying to make it through the day. If you’ve suggested something before and it FELL FLAT—there’s probably a reason. ✨Ask WHY—NONJUDGMENTALLY✨And always, always remember, most people know themselves best & we cannot force anyone to do anything until they are ready. . My last piece of advice on this matter—as a trained mental health clinician—during a crisis or period of trauma—is NOT the time to employ new coping strategies.✌🏻 🏢Today’s floor count: 90. There is a big misconception that ALL group training programs are run by charismatic, loud “cheerleaders” that do little to no form correction, exercise modification, or personal tweaks that make an exercise that much more challenging or effective. At Metabolic, this couldn’t be further from the truth.💪🏻As someone with an M.S. in Exercise Science,  and over 16 years experience training literally thousands of people, it is not only important to me that the coaches at my studios COACH during their sessions, but it is IMPERATIVE. A good coach will notice if you are hyperextending your back, or flexing your lumbar spine. A good coach will notice your foot placement on a squat. A good coach will force you to work harder, not by doing more burpees or sitouts between stations, but by dripping every last bit of juice from the exercise you are performing. A good coach will know your name. A good coach will know what makes you “tick” by understanding what motivates you, what discourages you, and what YOUR reason for training is. A good coach will bring energy to his or her sessions, but that energy will never come at the expense of ensuring that safety, intensity, and proper exercise technique are enforced. I had a crazy travel day yesterday so no workout for me. I didn’t feel stressed out that I missed it. I didn’t feel guilty. My workout schedule is flexible in that it calls for rest days and sometimes I move them around. But I didn’t use yesterday as an excuse for it to snowball. Up early, knocked out my favorite dirty 30, and now off for the day 💕

Very happy with my results & how I feel most of the time. I definitely feel like my stomach is getting much better at cooperating with different foods and it's not so much of a struggle. Not perfect but much improved from how I used to feel. This has been a long recovery road for me & I'm still trying to figure it out one day at a time. I truly feel like I was "blessed" with these ailments so I can help others with autoimmune disease & food allergies & any other strange symptoms they may have. If you are struggling with achey joints, angry digestive system, constant headaches or migraines, skin flare ups, fatigue,etc...it could be part of an autoimmune disease your Dr hasn't diagnosed yet. While I can't diagnose you, I want to get to the bottom of your symptoms & help you release them. Once upon a time I was a voice major - Right our of high school I had plans to be a music teacher. Obviously life took me down a different path, but I still have a passion for music and taught myself how to play the ukulele (I even wrote a song for my husband - check out my IG stories for a short blip). . 2. I am slightly obsessed with the musical “Wicked”. I know all the songs, read the books multiple times, of my five tattoos TWO are Wicked-themed, and have seen it TWICE (once with a backstage tour in NYC!) . 3. I LOVE fantasy and science fiction. Harry Potter is one of my favorite series, Brandon Sanderson is my favorite author, Batman is my favorite superhero, and Star Trek TNG is one of my favorite shows. I’m a bit of a nerd. . . 4. My husband and I swam with dolphins in Mexico on our honeymoon two years ago. It was INCREDIBLE! . . 5. If I can't picture I don't start!⠀ ⠀ A great example of this would be my Instagram page! ⠀ ⠀ Before I started I couldn't think of any reason why viewers (you) would be interested in anything I had to say.⠀ ⠀ For me focusing on natural talents is just like breathing. It is so natural I couldn't see how I could make it interesting.⠀ ⠀ And so the future of my Instagram page was...⠀ B L A N K.⠀ ⠀ After opening my Instagram account I spent a full year procrastinating!⠀ ⠀ This is not like me 😟.⠀ ⠀ Finally, another Strengths Coach helped me to see the light.⠀ ⠀ It was actually my 'Futuristic' talent that was now holding me back. Because the future didn't look interesting enough and there were too many unknowns, I was stuck in the thinking part.⠀ ⠀ The strategy we came up with was to simply turn up the volume on my other talents. Here was my 3 step plan:⠀ ⠀ Achiever - I set myself a goal of 6 posts a week⠀ ⠀ Discipline - I started posting at the same time each day and the same style of post each week, using set templates.⠀ ⠀ Learner - I watched "How to" videos every day about Instagram⠀ ⠀ 3 Simple tweaks and I haven't stopped since. When your spouse is fighting cancer (or any life threatening illness) and you become their caregiver, you learn more about love, (and heartache), than you ever thought possible. We took vows and promised to love each other in sickness and in health. 💑 . None of us ever know exactly what that could come to mean, and we certainly never think whatever it is will come as quickly in a marriage as it did for us. . . Throughout the years people have said to me, including 63, "This isn't fair. You didn't sign up for this." The thing is, I did sign up for this. Sure, if I could choose something a little easier than a rare, aggressive cancer, don't get me wrong, I would. 🤷🏼‍♀️But those vows you take- you don't get to choose how to use them or how life will test you. When he was first diagnosed, all I could think was "How am I going to do this?" In fact, I said it outloud more times than I could count, usually through sobs. But, Lao Tzu is right. Loving someone as deep as I love 63 gives me courage to face whatever I need to face for him. And the love he has for me gives me the strength to go on everyday. 💙 . . If everyone was lucky enough to find who they are supposed to be with, being married and staying true to those vows is easy; No matter how hard the test. ✨Because when we love with our souls, the rest doesn't matter. ✨The only downfall is that when you love someone in that way, the grief is that much worse. HOW DO YOU ACHIEVE PERSONAL GROWTH? 💞. According to the clinical psychologist Carl Roger's who studied the core conditions for personal growth, in order to change and develop we must have: 1. 🔼CONGRUENCE - being authentic and genuine and acting in integrity with ones own thoughts and feelings 2. 👍 UNCONDITIONAL POSITIVE REGARD - feeling of acceptance and respect without judgment 3. 🧡 EMPATHY - a willingness to understand another person within their frame of reference I have just spent the last 3 days in a training course learning about how to apply this in an organizational setting for individuals dealing with change. Of course I couldn't help but to also start thinking about how we GROW as individuals generally and then to overlay that with how we live our lives 😊 I've found through my own journey that being intentional about all 3 is CRITICAL? What does that look like? 1. Checking in with myself to see that my actions are congruent with what I truly desire. Every quarter I like to see if I am moving towards the goals I've set for myself, have things changed etc. 2. Catching myself when I am being judgemental to others or myself! 3. Being empathetic to others as well as to myself! Basically growth needs to be PURPOSEFUL. It helps us reach our potential and self-actualize the reality that we want 🦋 Ps. This is a fitness page but I LOVE talking about these psychological factors/mental models that help us grow. Stimulate not just your muscles but your brain too 🧠

Try this 14 minute routine you can do on your lunch break! Not only will it help build muscle, and keep your metabolism firing, but it will also wake you up more than another cup of coffee will! The best part is, all you need is your bodyweight and a band!✅ Here is the setup for the “Sinful 6” office workout! Pushups, 2 Second Negatives (8-10 Reps) Chair Leg Curl (8-10 Reps) Pitcher Squat Left (12-15 Reps) Pitcher Squat Right (12-15 Reps) Band Pullapart with Iso Squat Hold (12-15 Reps) Band Bicep Curl (12-15 Reps) Cycle through these as a circuit for :30 of “work”, :15 of “rest”. At the end of 1 round, rest for :45, then perform 2 more times, for a total of 3 rounds.
