Ig Mid week motivation 🏆 Who said girls can’t throw around the 100s? 😏 Before this workout I was feeling slugged and weighed down by my own thoughts. For the first part of the workout I felt as though I should have just gone home and not wasted the extra energy. EVEN though I knew I had it in me to be there. Negative thoughts and energy can be disabling. I ran into @iamleslieavalos at the gym and with a few words of encouragement.. a shift of thoughts and energy happened. She was my game changer. I immediately felt uplifted and energized. More focused than ever to hit prs and PUT IN WORK. Then I hit the 100s for the first time for stiff leg dead’s.. when at first I didn’t even wanna be there. Moral of the story: •We each have the power to be a game changer in someone else’s day to day. We each have the power to be a game changer even in our own! •If you feel great, if you feel positive & have the emotional energy to be the light in someone’s day - do it! Leaking, burping, farting, queefing, organ protrusion, scarring: Are these things inherently “embarrassing”? Or did we make them become “embarrassing”? . Actions become “embarrassing” as a result of being labeled as shameful, inappropriate, unattractive, problems. . Let us be very clear: they can be a problem to you - we are NOT trying to remove your ability to say that you are bothered/embarrassed by incontinence or the protrusion of your vaginal wall, etc. And your feelings should be respected, FULL STOP. 🛑 . Instead, we are suggesting that the way we perceive these things is learned - and that matters. . Sometimes, the belief that queefing is “gross”, for example, leads someone to treatment. Let’s say that treatment is successful at stopping the queefing. That can be great! But that’s not always what happens. Sometimes the belief that queefing is embarrassing leads someone to remove themselves from activity. Maybe they go to treatment but can’t fully resolve this symptom. They opt out of activities or go but are anxious throughout, waiting to feel embarrassment. . Shame-based marketing can be effective and can lead to positive results. It’s important to acknowledge this! It can also come at a cost. . Our bodies make noises. Our bodies produce fluids and solid matter, sometimes/often beyond our control. Our bodies hold things up, and sometimes let them give. Our bodies function well, and sometimes don’t function as well as we wish they would. Shame about this is learned. Shame has consequences. Shame can be unlearned, too. . Here’s the thing: even when the treatment is successful, it can be the case that the individual lives in fear of that symptom returning. It’s often that their desire to show up and exist in their body is conditional, based on avoiding embarrassment. . Those of us who treat pelvic health concerns dance a fine line between promoting function and promoting shame in “dysfunction”. It’s not easy, and it’s certainly not something we do perfectly. But we feel these conversations are necessary. . When we promote that we eliminate “embarrassing symptoms,” what other messages do we promote? What messages do we want to promote?

The BEST Way to Squat⁣ ⁣ You might imagine I’d say something like:⁣ 👉 Feet shoulder width apart⁣ 👉 Braced core and neutral spine⁣ 👉 Begin by sending the hips back and down⁣ 👉 Descend until the hip crease is below the knees ⁣ 👉 Keep the knees tracking over the feet and spine in neutral ⁣ 👉 Finish the movement by returning to the full upright position with hips and knees extended⁣ ⁣ But. ⁣ ⁣ What if executing the “perfect” squat creates pain?⁣ ⁣ What if squatting with the knees tracking inward relives that pain? What does that mean? Is that bad?⁣ ⁣ The BEST way to squat is the way that is pain and symptom free for YOU.⁣ ⁣ Does that mean you won’t also try to get to the “textbook” way? No. Ideally you can squat in all the ways!⁣ ⁣ With my 1:1 clients we find the pain and symptom free way first. Then we continue to work and try different variations so you can be pain/symptom free and good at all the ways! HELLLLOOOOOO FIT FAM🦄 - Been a hot hot minute since we’ve last talked. 6 weeks ago I went under the knife and had surgery on both of my lower legs. Walking around was pretty much out of the question for 2 weeks, and therefore so was the gym🥺 - After two weeks post op I got back in the gym for the first time🤪 and then later that night I got really sick. Turns out I’d be sick with the flu (doc said I’m probably the first of the season, YAY🙄) for about 2 weeks. After the 2 weeks of death🤒 I tried to get back on the gym but my motivation was at an all time low. Fall break🍂 was that week so I decided I’d take a week off to get my mind right. - I was feeling really defeated about not being in the gym for 5/6 weeks. Prior to surgery I wasn’t able to do any type of cardio for about 1/2 months. After surgery not only could I not workout, I couldn’t even walk around campus to try and burn some calories.. - I FINALLY feel like I’m pulling myself out of a rut I’ve been stuck in since my shin pain came back this summer. I will no longer🙅🏼‍♀️ allow myself to be stuck in this defeated attitude and mindset. I know it’ll take some patience and there will be days that my motivation is still missing and I’ll need a push🤜🏼 but I’m here for the ups & DOWNS, because that’s the reality of fitness🥰 #recovery#fitfam#fitnessmotivation#girlswholift#postop#roadtorecovery#comebackszn#quadday#femalefitness#weightlifting

It's been a long time since I've felt like I am where I'm suppose to be. Never have I pushed forward in so many ways and my life is definitely not what it once was. We all go through our obstacles and fight through the struggle where it seems like it will forever be ongoing. I can gladly say I'm happy because my journey has lead me here. I will never say I'm perfect but will say this is the best version of myself and I will keep trying to top that. I sit here in awe taking the Entrepreneurial route into having my own business. I can sit here and say I am no longer under an employer but under myself. I am my OWN BOSS and it feels amazing to have those words said out loud. I am pursuing what I finally want to pursue, making others feel better about themselves, helping those that want changes in their lives. It has taught me to never take anyone I love or anything or any moment for granted, it’s taught me that I’m way stronger than I thought I was, my faith and walk with Jesus is growing stronger each day, I’ve learned that I can do anything that I set my mind to even if it means hard work, and now I have this life that is half of me and half of my soulmate growing inside of me and I’m gonna be a momma to this baby boy who I love so much already 😭 Through all of the difficulties I’ve ever faced in life, blessings and strength have always come from them. If you’re going through hard times, there is a light after the darkness and you never have to go through anything alone. I love y’all and I hope you’re feeling loved and doing amazing in life 🙏🏼💞

Finished my book! Open up - the power of talking about money by Alex holder! 📘 . I have never really read anything like it! It really got me thinking about my own outlook and emotions towards money. It made me have conversations with people I never thought I would have! . Like all books like this, I do always feel they have a certain patronising tone, but that being said i really enjoyed most of the journey and the topics the book addresses! (money and shame, how you feel about money is to do with your upbringing, talking to friends about money, splitting the bill, and awkward conversations) . . One thing to take away from it: a little bit of money causes stress and unhappiness, but a lot of money does not cause happiness. AND even the richest people do not feel rich, rich is in our imagination, a destination we will never reach! See that scale?? (especially you ladies...) Yea, FUCK it. 🖕🏼 • I know so many women, personally as well as what I see online, that constantly say things like “oh if I can just lose 4.68lbs and hit X weight I’ll be happy” and it’s EVERYTHING for me to not want to shake them 😂 Instead I usually silently roll my eyes to myself and then try to educate them a bit. • If you lose those last 8lbs, but still feel lethargic or still don’t look “toned” (😖), then what good did that do you? LADIES - instead of focusing on what you WEIGH, focus on putting nutrient dense food in your body, reducing your alcohol intake, and get moving! I would highly recommend making sure SOME form of resistance training is included in there, because THAT is what’s going to get you the “toned” look you’re going for (aka muscle development, but for some reason women are STILL scared of the word “muscle” 🙄). • I weigh more now than I ever have in my entire life, but I’m so much happier than I was when I was 10lbs lighter with how I feel energy-wise and how I look in clothes, a bikini, naked... whatever!🤷🏻‍♀️ Don’t get me wrong, if you have a significant amount of weight to lose in order to be your healthiest self, then a scale is obviously a useful tool. But if you’re just trying to lose those pesky 3lbs or reach whatever arbitrary number, then toss that scale out the window girl... you don’t need it. ❤️

So I thought we better sit down and breakdown Christmas Dinner. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have kept alcohol off of this....and the Box of Roses that we all snack on too....⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I didn't want to make it too heartbreaking for you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So what are the lessons here:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. I think the most important thing to learn from this is this: Calories stack up quickly. Dinner is made up of 10 items here, and the calories get out of control fast.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2. Brussel Sprouts are amazing for your calories, which is why it's such a shame they taste horrific. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But here's the biggest lesson. And one I really want you to pay attention to...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ITS CHRISTMAS DINNER....bloody enjoy it. Eat it. All of it. Without feeling rubbish and without worrying about the calories you are putting away. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You get this meal once a year, and to be worried about what you are eating because of your calories will just be sad. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you are worried about it, then just get back to your habits the next day...get back into the mode you want to be in when Christmas has passed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Its Christmas....enjoy yourselves. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What do you love to have on your Christmas Dinner?

This Asian stir fry was AMAZING 🤩🤩⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And equally as important in my book, it was EASY! 👌🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What you’ll need:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔸 1 tbsp extra virgin coconut oil ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔸 2 cloves garlic, chopped ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔸 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔸 1/2 medium carrot⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔸 1/2 cup broccoli florets⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔸 1/2 medium red bell pepper ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔸 1 small head bok choy ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔸 1.5 tsp sesame oil ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔸 1 tbsp Bragg Liquid Aminos⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Heat the coconut oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add garlic, ginger, carrot and cook, stirring constantly for 1 minute. Add broccoli and cook, stirring frequently for 4 to 5 minutes. Add bell pepper and bok choy. Reduce heat to medium. Made it circuit based for added intensity as well. Circuit 1: 30 sec each exercise, 1 min rest. Repeat circuit 2 more times 1. Banded Glute Bridges 2. Banded Reverse Table Top 3. Alternating Reverse Lunge into Sumo Squat into Front Lunge Circuit 2: 30 sec each exercise, 1 min rest. Repeat circuit 2 more times 1. Loaded Beast To Front Step 2. Banded BW Squats 3. Alternating Side Kickthrough Circuit 3: 30 sec each exercise, 1 min rest. Repeat circuit 2 more times 1. Banded Jump Squats 2. Drop Lunges 3.
