I remember feeling so anxious about originally posting the photo on the left here on my Instagram 6 weeks pre op.. still soaking in that surgery is over and this is my bod. HOLY. It’s so many details.. like how weird does it feel to lean over and not have loose skin hanging from my abdomen?! SO AMAZINGLY WEIRD. Emphasis on amazing. Take that negative energy you force on yourself from self hate and turn it into something positive. Try loving yourself instead of constantly being mean to yourself. This journey is an all encompassing one. It’s not solely about losing weight but a lot of it is finding yourself and loving yourself healthy again. Weight loss is a mental battle and I’ll never believe anything otherwise. Start from the inside out and work on your mental well being daily. Put work into yourself. I get asked how I started and how I got this mentality. I started out just cutting sugar out and staying low carb diet wise but I did something so much more important. I recognized my issue with food and instead of hating myself like I always had before I started talking to myself and tried to figure out how to fix what was broken inside me. It was hard work and there were tears but I love myself completely again. I take the time to talk to myself daily (kinda sounds crazy but I swear it’s not🤪) and tell myself how proud I am of myself and what a badass bitch (excuse the language but this is my actual pep talk to myself everyday and well I AM a badass bitch🤷🏻‍♀️) I am and that there’s nothing I CANT do. I came from a place of believing I wasn’t strong enough for any of this and now I feel like I can conquer anything that comes my way. You have to put the work into yourself and focus on your inner self as much as you do diet and exercise. Hubs just worked a 27 HOUR DAY. The guy is a MACHINE. Like a big unstoppable steamroller with great hair and a jawline to die for, who also does laundry. Machines these days, amiright? . To make up for his absence, we went out for a datenight dinner tonight. As usual, I spent FOREVER analyzing the menu --the waiter even commented on how studious I looked. 🤷‍♀️ Hate to brag, but I basically have a PhD in that menu, now. My plan at restaurants is to look up the menu ahead of time if I can, then figure out what the absolute healthiest thing (that I still would want) is, and then modify it to make it even healthier. . I settled on the grilled chicken and peppers dish in a white wine sauce. I ordered it with the sauce on the side (and thank HEAVENS I did that because apparently they pour a whole DINGHY of it on there otherwise. They brought me the freaking S.S. SAUCEY BOY.), then I ordered veggies as my side (always) and made SURE they didnt use butter. Sometimes steamed veggies are SMOTHERED in butter. Thats how they getchu. Dont be afraid to ask. . I always feel good about my choices, and I never feel like Im missing out! It took me a long time to be comfortable enough with my eating habits to know what to order -- but just do the best you can! We found some live oregano and basil plants at TJs, which is exciting because we are staring our first herb garden this year! — We’re working on buying less and less processed foods, and sticking more to whole ingredients. There will always be exceptions though, and we are taking it slow, but this is a good start! — We are also working on trying some new things. Finally the biggest person behind my transformation is the love of my life my MOM! ❤️ My biggest achievement till date would be when my mom got inspired by my transformation and she herself decided to live a healthy lifestyle.. I would also like to thank my mentor for helping me throughout this journey. I’m focussing on getting stronger; mentally and physically. I set myself some big goals physically this year, but I can’t achieve them if I don’t focus on my mentality too. Being ill means I have to listen to what my body needs - which right now is not 500 sit ups or squats 😂 Therefore, I have to remind myself it’s OKAY to take a break when I need it. Our bodies can be amazing things, and once I’m closer to 100% physically then I can get back into my workouts. Ingredients: 1 pack of frozen spinach (thawed) 1 onion chopped finely 1 garlic clove chopped finely 1 carrot grated finely 1 cup of greek yogurt 2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil 1/2 tsp of pepper for seasoning - Cook onion, carrots, and garlic with olive oil on stove until translucent, approx. 7 mins. - Remove from heat and add to yogurt and spinach. - Mix together thoroughly . On a FREEZING day living in the middle of nowhere MO where the closest CFA is over an hour away, this place may as well be Disney World 🏰 . But for real, I LOVE CFA and I know that I can even stay on plan here - hello lettuce wrapped chicken sandwiches to help me stay on track and some superfood sides so I don’t eat all the fries 🍟 . I’ve learned a few tricks while working as a fitness coach that have prepared me for REAL LIFE and this is just one of them 🤩 . No, this definitely isn’t rocket science but I can’t do complicated. Hello to all my amazing followers (all 536 of you!). I just realized that I have been super rude and not properly introduced myself to all of you. 💜 I’m Lee! I am 28 years old from 🇨🇦, I am an avid Rae Dunn collector, fiancé, dog mom and adore all things mermaid 🧜🏼‍♀️ 💜 I also have Crohn’s and Colitis ... because why stop at just one bowel disease ? The party really starts when you have two! 💜 My symptoms began in 2014, I had vomiting, loss of bowel control, and excruciating pain whenever I would eat or drink anything. 💜 At first I thought it was my diet, so I cut out gluten, dairy, and sugar. All of that did a whole lot of nothing! In 2015 I was denied a colonoscopy because “people with Crohns are not overweight 🤦🏻‍♀️.” Fast forward to 2017 and I was diagnosed with ... you guessed it ... CROHN’S!!!! 💜 I have tried every drug under the sun and nothing has worked! Doctors were stumped at how resistant my disease has been and in the summer of 2018 I had to undergo emergency surgery to remove my colon. Once I started rollin with no colon, I thought my stoma (Regina George 💁🏻‍♀️) and I were a forced to be reckoned with. Boy was I wrong, I truly regret not giving her a nice name like Cinderella or Belle. After months of complications and excruciating pain, I now am seeing gastroenterologist number 7. I always said I was a rare unicorn BUT couldn’t I have a cool talent ? Other than pooping in a bag constantly. 💜 I am terrified, angry and depressed. Not knowing what’s wrong or why this is happening is the worst feeling. My current prognosis isn’t amazing, but I’m determined to fight like hell. 💜 Thank you for taking the time to read my novel!
