REALYOGA - Traveling, sitting all day, or just life in general can make out hips exceptionally tight. If you are into running, sports, or even just living comfortable, tight hips can get in the way. This routine can help you find more mobility and freedom in the hips through both static and dynamic stretches. Hold the static poses at least 30-60 seconds to start, each side, but over time you can move up to 3-5 minutes. On the dynamic sequence you are unwinding, so take 5-10 cycles on each pose until you feel your body releasing and ready for the next step. . Butterfly is a great way to start. Feet together, knees wide, and keep your spine tall to keep this pose on your hips. Play with the size of the diamond you legs make - bringing your feet closer to or farther from your groin can make a huge difference and will stretch different muscles. . Fire Log Pose ( Where your legs are stacked like fire logs ) can be quite intense. Its normal for your top knee to be nowhere near touching your bottom foot, but as your body releases it will slowly come down. Breathe deep and relax, and keep your toes pulled towards your knees to not overstretch one side of your ankle. . Cow Face Pose ( Knees Stacked ) can also be intense, if you have exceptionally tight hips you can extend the bottom leg straight forward. It can feel really nice to do a twist in this pose. Keep spine tall and breathe! . The Dynamic sequence is great. We start with your legs in 90 degree angles, and as they move left and right your knee will fall into the opposite arch of foot on each side ( See Video ). You can use your hands to support your back. We then progress, as the hips open, to leaning your torso over your legs ( feel free to pause in this stretch for a moment if you like! ). Engage your glutes to keep this pose in your hips and not your back. Continue, when ready, to coming up on to your knees, again with some glute engagement. The next level is, once on knees, step your back foot forward for a low lunge. Keep breathing! Once that feels nice and fluid, transition to high lunge, again with some glute engagement. One year and eleven pounds. The physical change may not be that drastic but the mental and emotional change is HUGE. Still sitting at 108 ๐Ÿ™Œ I know some people donโ€™t think 108 is a huge deal, but being 5โ€™1 (with shoes on๐Ÿ˜‚) and always being small... I never got over 103 unless I was pregnant. So, staying above that consistently is a huge accomplishment for me! Consistency in your diet is the biggest ๐Ÿ”‘ to transformation. You canโ€™t lose weight by just doing cardio and eating junk everyday... You also canโ€™t lose weight by starving yourself and eating 1-2 meals a day. Your body will hold on to it and store it as fat because it doesnโ€™t know when its next meal is coming ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ Aaaand eating junk everyday will help you gain weight if thatโ€™s what youโ€™re trying to do, but not the right kind of weight. Eating healthy fats, CARBS๐Ÿคค and keeping up with my diet on top of lifting weights has played the biggest role in my transformation. Seriously so easy (#momlife)๐Ÿ™Œ, all you need is a resistance band and a jump rope (you can skip the rope if you donโ€™t want to add in any #cardio). I do each of these workouts for 1 minute straight, rest for 30 seconds, jump rope for one minute, rest for 30 seconds, and jump into the next workout... 3 sets.
