I’ve never really used weights in my entire life. I was always nervous going to
I’ve never really used weights in my entire life. I was always nervous going to the gym and using weights that I didn’t know how to properly use in front of all those people with rock solid arms. So I just never tried it. Okay I tried it once... but had such negative thoughts flowing through my mind when I was watching myself in the mirror with my insignificant 5 lb dumbbells in my hands. “I look like an idiot.” “Someone is going to judge me.” “I can’t do this.” “I’m never going to be fit like them anyway.” “I clearly don’t know what I’m doing and they see it.” So I quit. ⠀ ⠀ STOP SAYING THINGS LIKE THAT TO YOURSELF! Seriously it’s only making things worse for yourself and holding you back! You can do ANYTHING you set your mind to. ANYTHING. Everyone you see in that gym started exactly where you are, the only difference is they didn’t give up. Get your mind right and you will seriously amaze yourself with everything you can do. It’s not all about the change of my body, I want a healthy mind. ⠀ ⠀ Now I actually want to buy more mirrors for my apartment so I can watch my form while I workout. Now I have trainers telling me the correct forms and I have my personal furry workout buddies cheering me on. Take a look at this. 👀 ◽ I'm delighted to announce that I'll be releasing another programme on 1st July. This is aimed at anyone who plays sport at any level. ◽ No matter how hard I'd trained in the gym all summer I'd be absolutely punctured 10 minutes into the first game of the season. 2 Fitness sessions a week and the predictable "bro-sessions" in the gym just didn't cut it 🤷‍♂️. Most of us that are into sport at any level will hit the gym to prepare for the upcoming season. ◽ I've seen my fair share of pre season plans. Some good. Some unnecessarily complicated. And some just downright pointless. There's 2 things they all lack: ◽ 🔹️Variety 🔹️Intensity ◽ 🔹️Most matches don't last more than 80/90 Minutes. Your gym session shouldn't either. 🔹️ We don't get long rest periods during games. Why on earth would we provide ourselves that luxury when we train? 🔹️ Matches are unpredictable. No 2 are ever the same. Your training should reflect this. 🔹️You don't stop to check your phone or chat between plays (scrums not included 😁). You shouldn't be doing it between sets. ◽ Over the next while I'll be posting some of the workouts to give you a taste of what to expect. Day 4️⃣ You know, when u get these workout plans there is always notes what u should have before u start doing these #workouts, u know like #dumbbells#yogamat etc, and even the #trainer from who u got the #workoutplan advised u to get them, but when u are like me u just think "aahh i'll just wingit..." yeah, u know AND I KNOW ACTUALLY, that u should always listen to your #trainer.❗ So, I was just doing my #workout, ofc i didint get myself a yogamat so i did it on ground, ofc i got some grass in my hair, some deep earth dirt on my skin and some ant bites on my arms and body and ofc i did it on my horse training field so now my pats and sneakers are covered with #horsepoop also.... U know, my washing mashine is doing overtime already ✔️ i have two sets of laundry to wash today + now all my workout clothes also so yeah i think its the end of this mashine now. Lots of great feedback on the home/outdoor training sessions and I’ve had a couple of messages asking about recommendations on basic kit to invest in to do the same.⁣ ⁣ The TWO things to consider here are:⁣ ⁣ Maximise your space / You want to make the most of the space you have available so no big chunky bits of kit if space is limited. You can put some great calorie burning workouts together with just body weight exercises but you need space to swing a few cats.⁣ ⁣ AND⁣ ⁣ Maximise your equipment / Invest in equipment that offers you plenty of options when it comes to exercise selection. This will help out with the first point and also get you essentially more for your money. ⁣ ⁣ Stock up on small, durable accessories too. New low of 85.7kg this morning, progress is definitely slowing down now. Time to increase cardio and clean up nutrient timing. Strength holding massively! No strength losses at all yet, intensity at an all time high. Now's the time to focus 100% of rest and recovery so that I can keep pushing the workouts as hard as possible. The only thing that let me down here was grip strength, otherwise I would've gone for the 8.Tried again with straps and managed to hit the 50's for 6 which I'm pretty impressed about.
