Alright so after looking over my progress in the past month I was concerned when I saw I lost 20lbs and 4 of that was lean body mass (not fat loss) I was worried because I thought 20% lost lean body mass (LBM) out of the weight I dropped was way too much to keep in the goal I wanted. Now I thought I was way to optimistic in my goal in the first place (keeping 97% LBM) but after looking at the numbers... I kept 97.3%!!) I’m so pumped and ready to step it up a notch! Some women embrace the moon cycle, some find it empowering, primal. In my 55th year on this earth I find it downright annoying! For me It has no useful purpose, it interferes with my workouts and leaves me cramped & bloated. I could not bear the thought of laying a weighted bar across my tum for Hip Thrusts (now a part of my everyday) and I found several positions remarkably uncomfortable. I also couldn’t bear the thought of throwing a workout because this unexpected inconvenience occurred. The Leg Press provided me with the answer. I was able to sequester it for about an hour and gradually loaded it up as I punched out set after set. I worked my way up I couldn’t and kept a controlled 3-3-3 tempo all the way. Finished off on the cables with some Donkey Kicks and banded lightweight Squats. My first weight lifting video of the year...🤔 - My weight lifting routine is pretty basic - I mainly do compound movements such as bench press variations, shoulder press, and squats. Here are some ways where I took the same exercise and altered them each set to hit a different rep range. - Incline bench press: Set 1 - Rotating incline press on higher 60 degree angle (more challenging) Set 2 - No rotation press on lower 45 degree angle - same weight but this was a less challenging variation so I added reps. Another option would be to simply lower the weight on set 2 but I already moved these dumbbells halfway across the gym in order to record in peace so I had no desire to grab another set of dumbbells 😅 - Squats: Set 1: box squat to slightly below parallel (heavier weight, low reps) Set 2: box squat to lower depth (lower weight, increase reps) No matter what the variation is, I make sure it is a challenge to hit the desired reps #weightlifting#gymday#idolift#doyouevenliftbro#benchpress#inclinebench#chestday#exercisevariation#strengthtraining#squats#boxsquats#legday#asstograss#pausesquats#workoutroutine#dumbbellpress#workouttips#reversepyramidtraining#workoutwednesday

Like, when I have a broken bone but still want (okay, need. It helps with the crazy. 🤪 #truth 💁) to get my sweat on. 💦 So, I work to figure out what I CAN do rather than be limited by what I CAN'T do. 💪 Of course, (for those who may question it), I played it safe and took care to not push my limits too far. I'm not trying to get reinjured, after all. 😁 But, check how "proper" my deadlifts were with my "fancy" pinky. 👀😂
