Stubborn. . She’s so stubborn but I guess that’s where I get it from 😅 . You see the food but my focus is on her hands. . These hands that worked too hard for too long. . During the day she uses them extensively and aggressively earning a little more than minimum wage to raise me. She continues to do it to be my just incase emergency backup. . Retirement didn’t come soon enough. I wanted her to retire and not have to suffer health issues but as it turns out she just continues to have more. . Feeling emotional again as I worry about her hands that have caused her pain now for weeks and she’s been on medication to ease the condition. Helps with the pain but hard on her kidneys, stomach, and liver. What do you do in situations like this? Her finger has been so swollen for so long that the skin around the joint has started to peel. . These pics were from a while ago before the issue but you can see her knuckles are swollen already. A condition that the doctors have said are not reversible. . I use to not understand why she was so clumsy, always dropping things sometimes even making a scene. But it didn’t take long for me to realize it’s because the agility in her hands are gone. The soft cartilage in the joints are worn out and the joints are now swollen and stiff. . She struggles holding a spoon and using chopsticks. With a restrictive diet now too she’s lost quite a bit of weight ❤️ trying to keep my heart strong through moments like this. I love her so much ❤️ . She likes the Shanghai noodles and the vegetarian steam buns here the most.

At least, it is a sentence I hear a lot. 
When you change the way you eat, it is actually a matter of discovering new ingredients. For example : buckwheat, that I buy in bulk and that last me 2 or 3 months; or sweet potatoes, that I slice in fried for the week
🍓 My best tips to save money while eating healthy would be : do a grocery list (therefore preventing you from buying whatever appeals you once at the store); buy in bulk whenever you can; and cook your meals yourself as much as possible. Let's talk about fats. Lipids(fats) can be divided into 3 categories: triglycerdies(unsaturated/saturated), phospholipids(in our cell membrane) and steroids(HORMONES). As can be seen we NEED FAT, its in every one of our cells, it makes up major hormones and serves as insulation for our body. So why is the diet/fitness industry telling us to buy "fat free or low fat" products? Is it healthier? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Most likely those products are loaded with excess sugar and chemicals. So what kind of far should we eat? Mostly unsaturated fat which is liquid at room temp and comes from non animal souces like nuts, seeds or olives. A common misconception is that saturated fat is bad. IT IS NOT, we just need less of it. Although your saturated fat shouldn't come from oreos and McDonald's fries(thats ok too sometimes --- BALANCE), but it should come from things like plain greek yogurt or meat. The one type of fat humans shouldn't eat is trans fat. It is a man made fat and is NOT HEALTHY! This is the only thing that a dietian will ever tell you to stay away from. Let's talk about carbohydrates? The diet industry tells us to avoid carbs because they make you "fat" but let's look at it from a dietitans point of view🕵Carbohydrates are polymers of monosacharides. They are our bodies MAIN source of energy! (Our bodies can use fat or protein but its easier for our body to break down carbohydrates). They provide us with quick energy for our cells and brain to function. Now that doesn't mean all carbs are created equal, complex carbs(whole grains, fruit, vegetables) should be where most of our carbs come from, simple carbs(white flour,pastries) should be limited. Complex carbs take a longer time to break down and therefore don't spike our blood sugar so much. That doesnt mean all simple carbs are bad. White rice is still healthy!!!! Pasties however should be limited! Try to make cookies using rye/oat flour, use fruit or honey instead of table sugar or sweetners! Don't be scared of carbs! I also have this meal with a serving of beyond raw pre workout (250mg of caffeine). Hey pals! Just spent the past week in the Arava (most southern area of Israel.) The week consisted of hiking in the sandy reddish brown mountains, swimming with colorful and exotic fish in the Red Sea, and relaxing at a socialistic kibbutz (Kibbutz Ketora) about an hour from the water. Although I'm usually not a fan of desert hikes as I appreciate the luxuries of the modern world (i.e. bathrooms, showers, and refrigerators,) swimming alongside swordfish and schools of minnows in the refreshing sea made it all worth it
