THE TRUE STORY OF THE DOUGHNUT/DONUT (and all other calorie dense not so nutrient dense foods)🤗 - Incase you read no further I want you to remember this - 👉🏻“Its what you do the majority of the time that matters not what you do the minority of the time. - One of the best things you can do for you mindset is to ditch "quippy" food labels and view foods for what the are 👉🏻more nutrient dense 👉🏻less nutrient dense Obviously you don't need me to tell you which you should be eating the most of! - Nutrition is not black and white. When considering if you should include a doughnut or indeed any other foods which are very delicious, calorie dense but not so nutrient dense you need to make this decision based on how the food fits into the overall context of your diet. - Banning yourself from ever eating certain foods just because, someone told you that eating them will prevent you losing fat or ever getting healthy is unnecessary. - The more food rules and restrictions you have the more likely it is you won’t adhere. - If you think about this logically which scenario scream truth? - 1.Fat gain suddenly happened after eating one specific piece of pizza or one slice of cake? - 2.Fat gain crept on over months/ years of not paying attention to how much you were eating, perhaps eating a diet higher in less nutrient dense, higher calorie foods than vegetables & lean protein? - Of course its the 2nd one! - You don’t gain or lose fat over night. - These outcomes happen because of repeat behaviours, not because of one “kaboom” moment. - Your energy balance was in a consistent surplus and this is what made you gain weight. - Did you know that the so called“evil fattening carbs” are very rarely just carbs more a hyper palatable combo of fat, sugar, salt deviously put together by food makers to make you want more. - Seriously read the ingredients and you’ll see. - In conclusion if you want a doughnut some ice cream or a piece of pizza then have it totally guilt free. - So long as these types of foods aren’t making up the majority of your diet you are able to just eat a portion then get back to plan then do it ❤

Pretty happy with with this 17 minute dish... Basil 🌿 pesto pasta which I made up on the spot using the overgrown basil leaves & cherry tomato 🍅 growing outside. Whipping it up: Cook 1/3 packet wholemeal pasta. As it cooks, make your pesto in a food processor using a big bunch of basil (2-3cups), 2 cloves of garlic, 2T Parmesan cheese, 2T pine nuts, salt & pepper to taste. As basil starts to break down, add extra virgin olive oil gradually (about 3T) and continue to whizz until you get to the texture you like. Mix pesto in with your cooked pasta alongside sundried tomatoes and cherry tomatoes. Grilled chicken can either be mixed into it or served on the side. Also love edamame beans, steamed and sprinkled with Himalayan rock salt YUM 😋 This served 3. Now I can exercise 2 times a week at maximum but on those days I have to take caloric/protein supplements and so I'm going to exercise it with my dad probably !!! I have to get to a weight that makes me have my period again and now it's increasing calmly to get there! Only when I have the period again and that means I'm sort of at a healthy weight. I have to come here in a month and I can not even lose 100 grams in the process I have to increase and keep increasing! I'm going to be honest with you it scares the hell out of me to think that I have to increase about 3 kg or 4 kg! But it scares me more continue to losing my life so I have to keep pushing Through, until this consequences passed and I’m starting to love my body as a healthy one!! This is me currently at 87kg. It’s the leanest I’ve been in my entire life. Not the lightest, but the leanest. 30 or so weeks ago I was weighing in at 97kg with a lot of extra fluff and decided it was time to lose some fat. ⠀ The process so far has been great. It’s taught me so much more about nutrition, my body, and fat loss in general. I’ve always said it’s important to practice what you preach and although I’ve been through the process of fat loss many times before, it’s always good to climatise myself again to the same conditions my clients go through to achieve amazing results when there goals are fat loss. There’s always something to learn and I learn something new every time. ⠀ Although it’s taken 30 or so weeks and I’m still not done yet, I don’t even feel like I’ve been dieting. It’s been the easiest cut I’ve ever gone through as my knowledge has substantially grown and my mindset has improved around nutrition. ⠀ In fact I’m actually eating more if anything. Volume that is! Calories have to be lower as a caloric deficit is required to lose fat but my food choices have shifted as I’ve got deeper into the cut and calories have dropped to ensure I’m still eating a high quantity of food so I never go hungry. ⠀ For example - when I started dieting I ate a lot of rice to hit my carbs, added honey to my oats and had a lot more oils and nut butters in my diet as my fat intake was higher. Now, I still eat all of that but not as frequently or with the same quantity as before. My carb choices have now favoured potatoes and sweet potatoes over rice, Most of the time I cook without any added oils and also add a lot more vegetable to my diet to make the meals bigger and to also meet my micronutrient requirements as naturally, eating lower calories means I’m not getting as many micros from my macro rich foods as I was before.

#Repost@_harrysandhu_ with @get_repost ・・・ #CONTEST#PREP - #DIETING - #DEPLETION VS #CARBS + #REFEEDING. - Here's a good little insight into how #Contest#Prep Diets work (or at least, how "I" do them) - Everyone who's worked with me knows - I'm much more of a fan of #HARD#WORK than just piss fartin around, so I push my athletes pretty hard. - But the #KEY to hard and intense dieting's #success is knowing - 1: WHEN To give a break 2; How long that break needs to be - just one cheat/refeed meal, 1 day, 2 days or longer - Here's a good example of @_manoj_sarangapani_ after a 2 day "moderate" re-feed break. - of course it's nothing ground breaking difference - but if you look closely enough, it's a palpable difference. And had I doubled his carbs and pulled back the water (without restricting his sodium), this impact would have #doubled most likely. - It's easy to push the carbs for extended break and see what happens (as it is to be "afraid" to give 2 + days break) - but you gotta strike a #balance - to ensure, you don't go #past the hormone optimisation point and go into the territory of unnecessary fat gain - which ultimately has to come off. - To me #NOTHING is more exciting (except my family) than #Contest#Prep. - It's a perfect mix of #Science#Art#Experience & #Instincts. - And I'm really enjoying sharing what I know and have learnt over the years in my #Contest#Prep#Workshops & my paid membership website. - @_harrysandhu_#TEAMBOSS#BOSSCLASSIC

REVIEW: @padella_pasta, a quaint lil pasta joint in @boroughmarket 🍝🧀🇮🇹. This wasn't my first time so I knew exactly what to expect. 👀 Pictured are the iconic pici cacio e pepe; stracci gorgonzola and caramelised onions; gnocchi with nutmeg butter with an almond and pear tart to finish. Sooooo goddam good 🤤. All of it. . This place, for me, really is a must visit institution in London. Definitely some of the best pasta I've had outside of Italy. As an amateur chef, eating here was so educational learning about simplicity. Being able to compose flavour profiles with few ingredients as possible and really letting them shine. There's really no need to overcomplicated most dishes. Notice how simple and vegetarian all of the dishes pictured are! When visiting you must try the pici, and if you are a cheese lover, the stracci if its still on the menu. The locally sourced cow's milk burratta from @delucamozzarella is also very difficult to turn down 😵. I was tempted to give it a 8.5 but at the pricepoint and what eating here has done for my own cooking, how could it not be a 9/10? This is feel good food at its core (its carbs haha). I challenge you to eat here and leave without smiling. I think it's about time I visited the mothership @trullo_restaurant 🤔 . S/O to @bpanettone & @_jamietiru for the OG recommendations back in 2016 & 2017 (who are both Italian by the way so you already know 💁‍♂️)!
