Always dieting, never resulting. This person seems to be in forever fat loss mode. They never stick to one thing long enough to get results. . 2. Always talking, never doing. This person talks about all the different exercises and diets and supplements. But they never just start anything… . 3. Teas, detoxes…but no veggies or exercise? Sorry my friends, nothing replaces eating like an adult and getting strong. That’s how fat loss happens. And there are NO shortcuts. . 4. Need to get in shape…before I can come to the gym to get in shape. I’ll just leave you with an analogy: this is like saying I can’t shower yet because I need to get clean first. . 5. Gym and coaching is too expensive…$1000 on iPhone is cool though. . You may say that health and fitness is your priority…but your true priorities are always revealed through where your spend your money and your time. . 6. Fancy exercises, no basics. Find a type of squat, deadlift, press, row, and loaded carry. That’s the foundation of your training. The anatomy of the body hasn’t changed so that we need new weird shit. . 7. Newbies learning from newbies. Learn from someone with experience and who can help you avoid mistakes. Not from Susan who just got on bulletproof coffee and is doing the new training flavor of the week (sorry Susan, I still love you though!) . 8. IG Fit Peeps with zero experience training real people or knowledge of the body. This is particularly dangerous because they “look” like they know what’s going on but they have zero clue and are selling you CRAP that is taking money out of your wallet. Don’t let the butt shots and abs fool you. Anyone can get abs and take butt shots all day…not everyone can coach. . More than anything, I love partnering with these women in sharing their success and love for this #carbcycling and #intermittentfasting lifestyle. How it gives us a realistic way to care for the bodies God gave us. It also empowers them to be better speakers and authors and podcasters and worship leaders and such 💁🏼‍♀️. It’s a term I haven’t used too much until many of my online coaching clients started using it. But there seems to be confusion about what it actually means and what you have to do to get a toned look. - 🔹So let’s start off by agreeing what “toned” really means. “Toned” means visible lean muscle definition. - ➡️You need to build muscle to look toned. - 🔹Strength Training is the key to muscle growth. Lifting heavy 3-4 times a week is what will build the lean muscle mass that will make you look toned and defined. If you are afraid of getting too “bulky”, fear not. Keep your diet in check, and lift heavy, and you will be amazed at how your body transforms. - 🔹 Protein and Strength Training are partners in building muscle definition. Aim for 1.0 grams of protein per pound of BW (or goal BW if you have significant weight to lose). New to the protein game and can’t quite get that much yet? No problem. Aim for it and get as close as you can. Increasing protein takes practice and making adjustments just like anything else. - 🔹Cardio is great, but it can’t be your main focus if you want to build lean muscle. Keep the focus on strength training and add on some light cardio if you want. Find something you love to do - for me I am becoming a walker. Who knew? - 🔹Do you have unrealistic expectations? Do you think after a week there should be some visible changes? And when the changes aren’t there, do you get discouraged and/or quit? The reality is that fat loss and building muscle takes a long time. Be in it for the long haul. If you are consistent with your workouts and your nutrition, you will succeed. - 🔹 Sleep is probably the most important thing in our lives. It is super important for muscle growth, fat loss, weight loss, being a happy person, you name it. Sleep drives our lives. Get as much quality sleep on board as you can.
