Cycled for almost 15kms last night with some crazy people, on the roads of South Bombay. Decided to lie down on the marine drive for a while and stargaze at 2am in the morning. The sea also happened to look so amazingly magical at the same time. Quite the most peaceful 5 hours of my life in a long time. This week I will guide students through a strong yoga routine to get the body moving and to create heat. Although it is great that we can wrap up and get cosy indoors during the winter months, especially after busy summers (I like to think of it as ‘human-hibernation’) it can also cause us to move a lot less, to sit too much, and close the windows. A strong practice allows us to get moving and breathing more and in doing so, re-energising and loosening up cold and tight muscles. But, as always I like to add a bit of mind-stuff, so I will invite students to think about what keeps them from going deeper into a pose, what parts of the body remain tight and rigid, what drives them to give up too quickly or push too much. The answers to these questions most likely are a reflection of that which holds us back if life, makes us avoid change or challenge, or sits behind feelings of not being good enough etc. Meditation will encourage students to reflect on that which does not serve them. #poweryoga#strongbodystrongmind#breathing#meditation#mindbodyyoga

Дишането свързва ТЯЛОТО, СЪЗНАНИЕТО И ДЪХА! Това е толкова важен, всеобхватен процес, но, за съжаление, е толкова пренебрегнат от повечето хора: бързане, стрес, невнимание към тялото си… Дишането е механизмът, който задейства естественото движение на тялото, включва нервно-мускулната система и помага да се фокусираме върху вътрешните процеси в тялото, да се отпуснем и се успокоим. 🌹 В ПИЛАТЕС се използва така наричано ЛАТЕРАЛНО (странично) или РЕБРЕНО ДИШАНЕ, когато на вдишване акцентираме вниманието си върху разширяването на ребрата встарни и вертикалното издължаване на гръбнака, това позволява да задържаме коремните мускули (особено напричния «колан») тонизирани по време на упражненията; на издишване акцентът е върху още по-активно стягане на коремните мускули («колана»), което помага на диафрагмата и междуребрените мускули да изгонват въздуха от белите дробове, този процес помага на по-дълбоко дишане и «захранване» на организма. Дълбоко РЕБРЕНО дишане се използва в ПИЛАТЕС (и по време на други тренировки) с цел да се активизира ЦЪНТЪРЪТ на тялото (core), независимо от фазата на дишане, и да се стабилизира позицията на гръбначния стълб (особено кръста). Here is an interesting case of an intraoral presence of hair! A 61-year-old male came to the department complaining of discomfort in his mouth which has been present for six months. History revealed that the patient had a history of diagnosed and treated cancer of the buccal mucosa. He had been treated with radiation therapy and local resection was done along with surgical reconstruction with radial forearm flaps. Intraoral examination showed various hair fibers growing from the surface of the left buccal mucosa into the oral cavity and extending into the palate. Patient was advised to have laser excision of these hairs, but he refused the procedure. His refusal was related to his previous surgical experiences. Hairy intraoral flaps are one of rarest adverse effects of surgical reconstruction after treatment of oral malignancies. This may be due to the presence of hair follicles in the donor sites used as a flap. An intraoral hairy flap may result in constant discomfort affecting the quality of life. ‘If I Can Breathe’ is a new song out today (see link in bio) but there are a few surprises you may not be aware of. For one thing, there are actually two versions of the song. I first wrote If I Can Breathe as a ballad at a time when someone I knew was ill. The song talks to mental health and the struggles we often face on a day to day basis. At home I still play the ballad but out live, I perform a fast guitar version. However, I wanted to create a more urgent and energetic version of the song to express defiance. This was my first venture into writing fully-produced pop songs. Little did I know I’d go on to write and produce eight more and have a blast on each and every one. The final album will be called Double Take. Then there is the video. I have always loved animé and was excited to collaborate with a pro video editor and graphic designer to create an Anime Music Video (AMV). I provided the storyline to Jax but I wanted him to let his own creativity tell the story. I’m really happy how the video turned out; the visuals tell the story in a way I could never have imagined but that can still be relatable. Celebrem el final de cicle amb aquesta meditació d'Osho una mica transformada (tot i que és de les meves preferidíssimes, hi he posat la meva salsa...🌺) • Primer preparem una playlist amb la música que més ens ajudi en cada etapa i a disfrutar! . 1. RESPIRACIÓ 4 FASES - D'esquena al terra amb les cames flexionades. - Respirem amb 4 temps: inspirar-pausa- exhalar-pausa (10min) 2. TRATAK + TSE MUDRA - Asseguts en posició de meditació (cadascú la seva...), deixar la mirada fixa però suau a la flama de l'espelma. - Inhala plegant el polze a la base del dit petit i tanca el puny; exhala desplegant les mans imaginant que les pors, preocupacions y tristeses abandonen el cos. (10min) 3. DANSA DE L'ARBRE - Drets i respiració natural - Mantenim el cos receptiu i completament deixat anar. Imaginem que som un arbre que el vent comença a moure. - No facis tu el moviment: deixa que el cos es mogui... (15-30min) 4. It occurred to Pooh and Piglet that they hadn't heard from Eeyore for several days, so they put on their hats and coats and trotted across the Hundred Acre Wood to Eeyore's stick house. Potentially the most important thing you can learn to do in your yoga classes is learning how to breathe properly. Breathing helps regulating your state of mind and emotions as well as concentration. Moreover, our look-based society promotes the idea of a flat belly. However, the correct way of breathing should be to inflate the lower andomen while inhaling and then the middle abdomen and chest for last, then let it back to its natural state when exhaling - starting again from the bottom up. This helps us move the diaphragm correctly. When done correctly, this movement should be effortless. Okay, the #yoga position in this image may be a little tough for most of us! But no worries - there are obviously lots of other less-intense ways to practice. 🧘‍♀️ 🧘‍♂️ When your pain feels like it's controlling your body, try to avoid letting it take over the mind. Regularly practicing yoga can improve stress management and reduce #chronicpain itself. How exactly does yoga relieve chronic pain? New research has shown that pain and yoga have opposite effects on the brain. Chronic pain causes structural, chemical, and functional changes to the brain, altering how it processes and releases irregular amounts of neurotransmitters. Yoga reputedly improves overall health by rebalancing these neurotransmitters while triggering endorphins which can act as painkillers. You can benefit from a short yoga session anytime during the day! Some beginner positions we recommend: 1. Starting with Breathing (2-5 minutes) - Find a comfortable lying down position and take deep breaths in and out. Feel your rib cage and diaphragm expand with each breath. Don’t move excessively and remember to relax your muscles. 2. Lateral Standing Stretches (3-5 minutes) - Begin by standing up with your feet a few inches apart and reaching both your arms upwards. Bring your hands together (still above your head) and push your hips towards the left while pushing your arms towards the right. Hold each side for 20 seconds before switching and keep your breathing steady. 3. Wall Plank (3-5 minutes) - Kneel on the ground with both knees and place both of your palms on a wall. Keep your feet behind you and bend your elbows to bring your face closer to the wall. Hold that position for a few seconds and bring your elbows back to where they were. Repeat this process slowly.

My gratitude practice today... was to you for reading this and for passing on some of your own magic. For every single opportunity that opens up the possibility to influence the life of another in a positive way, (it’s possibly the best part of why I feel I’m here and it feels awesome). I hope I’m doing a good job, it really feels like I’m on the right track at least while I figure the rest of it out, doing it for the right reasons (not always been the case). . We can often go about each day mindlessly going through the motions without purpose or chasing the wrong goal (don’t do this). I’ve come to realise the more you simplify each day doing more of the things that make you happy (no matter how small) it then begins to flow into other parts of your life and the lives of those around you. and we all have this gift✨ . So thank you. I’m grateful for all of you that keep shining your light around me☀️ . Are you coming to the workshop in London this Saturday?
