Out: Coffee and Dairy. 6:30am - 45 min dog walk. 1pm - 500g beef patties & 300g bacon. 6pm - Gym 30 mins, 15mins bike, 5 reps of 20 calf raises. Verified PB of 15.9sec for 100m on Concept2. Wore @skinssportswear and @softstarshoes. 7pm - 500g beef patties. Calories: 3243 kcal. Carbs 0g. Protein - 227.8g/28.1%. Fat 258.9g/71.9%. Daily Food Cost - £4.25. Some people sort their diet out then exercise, some people exercise then sort their diet out, some people jump in at the deep end and try and do both at once. Really though it is a circle of motivation. They both should work together and for each other. Each one inspiring you to get better at the other. When I was Keto I preferred to go for long runs, now on Carnivore I prefer more explosive stuff. If your current diet isn't making you want to exercise, then you should change your diet. Felt good today, I had that satisfying gym soreness. You know the one that doesn't make you walk around like an old man, but you know you did something. Once you are fat adapted the Carnivore Diet is great for the gym. Meat is full of creatine and all the natural building blocks you need to recover and grow. Wore @skinssportswear and @softstarshoes. Hit a PB on the rower, 16 secs. 7pm - 500g beef patties. Calories: 3111.4 kcal. Carbs 0.3g. Protein - 244.8g/32.4%. Fat 233.3g/67.53%. Daily Food Cost - £6.50. Decent food day today, and did well over the weekend too. Even slow cooked a chicken for the first time. I thought it tasted normal but The Wife thought the texture was weird. I feel blessed that I have found the Carnivore Diet, however it half amuses me and half angers me when I see nutritional silliness or over complications. A photo included shows some NHS advice. Oh dear. Bullet point 1 lists foods that are converted into sugar. Then bullet point 2 says keep sugar to a minimum. Which one please? The fact that the NHS cannot or will not clearly point out that fruit, veg and starches all contain actual sugar or will be converted into sugar by the body boggles my mind. You see it on nutritional labels all the time. 30g of carbs, of which 15g are sugars. As many of you may know I am a big rugby league fan, and for the past couple of months I have been involved with the Betfred Championship side, @dewsburyramsofficial. These boys are a competitive bunch and a genuine joy to be involved with. The team is preparing for the new season and I have been interning with the medical team, including the doctor and head physiotherapist. As much as we all love the outdoors and getting the boys rugby ready, the weather has been typically northern, with temperatures often in the minus numbers. Realising the weather was not going to improve any time soon, I turned once again to @skinssportswear for some thermal compression garments. Enter the DNAmic thermal long tights and DNAmic thermal long sleeve mock neck top. Both of these items are superb in performance. They are very snug in terms of the compression, yet allow full range of motion in all movement. Shoulder movement, including overhead exercises, were done with considerable ease and no restriction in reaching end of range. Also, hip and knee flexion was very easy allowing running drills with the injured players, and squats (ass to grass of course) to be completed without any issues. I cannot recommend the SKINS garments highly enough, and as I have said previously, I don’t normally do endorsements, but in my professional opinion these guys do compression the best. Period! Wore @skinssportswear and @softstarshoes 7pm - 500g brisket. Calories: 3271 kcal. Carbs 0. Protein - 229.8g/29%. Fat 275g/71%. Daily Food Cost - £5.75. Well giving up coffee was a non issue. I half expected a rough couple of weeks, but it has been pretty easy. I haven’t missed it at all, and the withdrawals were very mild. That said I haven’t noticed any health benefits yet either. I am pretty in tune with how foods and drinks affect me, and I do not yet see any noticeable improvements, in energy, vitality, mood and performance yet. No decrease either. Last November I predicted that 2019 would be the year that certain groups would try to highlight alleged environmental issues with eating meat, and go after it hard. This is because they have failed to convince people that they should remain on the mainstream dietary advice. So many people are finding their own path, often to diets like Keto which ranked number 1 in 2018 diet trends on Google. Well it has started already, from 16th of January and for a couple of months. Loads of plant based and environmental silliness will be released. Most of it stems from the money of a Vegan billionaire called Gunhild A. Stordalen. Let's hope she doesn't have a private jet, because that would be taking the environmental mick. Daily Food Cost - £7.50. Even though I pretty much only had meat over xmas and new year, I did have some xmas cake and pudding and too much booze. I would say today is the first day where I feel like I am flying again. The benefit of the Carnivore Diet is that is is basically just meat, and provides all the nutrition you need. Then when I have anything out of the ordinary, I know exactly how how it makes me feel. So I can eat a tomato, and tell you exactly how it affects my energy, digestion and mood. I believe this is vital in designing your own diet. You need to know how specific foods affect you. So how can you apply this. Easy. You only eat meat for 60 days. Then you have a baseline. Then if you want to you start adding food back in, do it one at a time. Maybe only one new food a week. My stock response is "I only eat meat", I think what they hear is "I eat mostly meat" or "I eat a lot of meat". I think they think I am sneaking my 5 a day in somehow. Nope. Meat has everything you need. It is THE superfood. Anything you have with meat, is nothing more than filling yourself up on less nutrient dense food. Fruit and Veg are simply not necessary. Any negatives associated with eating meat, are actually due to the other crap you are eating with the meat. Eat only meat, and everything just seems to fall into place. It is almost like we have been eating it for millions of years, and we are perfectly designed to eat it. Heute ging es nach einem kleinen Warm-up (1h Schneeräumen im Schneesturm) wieder aufs Laufband. Heute wollte ich mal meinem Puls die Laufgeschwindigkeit bestimmen lassen. Ich entschied mich für eine Target-HF von 150 und dann ging’s los. Nach 21,35 km war dann Schluss. Zwar keine Bestzeit, aber das wird schon noch. Hab ja noch knapp drei Monate Zeit meine Pace dorthin zu bekommen wo ich sie gerne hätte. 21,35 km für die #jnry19challenge von @runfurther.de und @icebugschuhe und an‘s #teamrunmunichrun ——————————— Mein Laufequipment:

Every month is a carnivore month for me, so I will
World Carnivore Month Day 4; Every month is a carnivore month for me, so I will do something a little different for #worldcarnivoremonth January 2019. Out: Coffee and Dairy. 6:30am - 45 minute dog walk. 8am - 300g Bacon. Water. 5pm - 30 minute Gym session. Full body machine workout, 1 set to failure on each machine. 6pm - 750g Beef Patties. Water. Whiskey. Daily food cost: £3.50 Calories: 2869. Carbs 0.01g/0.1%, Protein 181.8g/25.3% and Fat 209.4g/65.7%. Alcohol 9%. Had a headache from between 11am and 3pm ish. So the coffee monster hasn't released its grip yet. Overall it has been easier than I thought, I still think about coffee but I am not desperate to have one. No dairy, has been no issue. I love cheese but I don't always have to have it. Also so happy to get back in the gym today, it has been nearly 2 weeks for one reason or another. I have missed it, which is a good sign. Exercise shouldn't be a drag. Wore @skinssportswear Primary and @softstarshoes primals. I weigh myself at the gym. So in that Xmas period since I was last in the gym, I put on 4 pounds... probably the Xmas pudding. Auch der weiteste Weg beginnt mit einem ersten Schritt… Meinen ersten Laufschritt in diesem Jahr machte ich heute Morgen um 4:14h und lief die ersten 14 km des Jahres. Schon 0,78% des Jahreslaufziels geschafft! Läuft! ;-) Um wenigstens an einem Vorsatz fürs neue Jahr dran zu bleiben gab´s im Anschluss noch eine kleine Einheit Krafttraining. Ich hoffe ich schaffe das jetzt wieder regelmäßig. Jetzt muss ich nur wieder meine Ernährung konsequent in den Griff bekommen, dann sind alle Vorsätze am Gelingen. Der erste Tag des neuen Jahres ist nun auch schon fast wieder vorbei und ich wol

Der erste Tag des neuen Jahres ist nun auch schon fast wieder vorbei und ich wollte noch einmal einen kurzen Blick zurück in’s alte Jahr werfen und noch zwei Zahlen nachliefern. Meine Laufkilometer im Dezember haben es mit gut 111 km nur auf Platz 5 des Jahres geschafft. Aber man darf ja zum Ende eines spannenden Laufjahres ruhig mal bisschen vom Gas gehen, regenerieren, Kräfte für das nächste Jahr sammeln. Da ich zu Beginn meiner Lauf„karriere“ noch nicht über all die (vermeintlich) nützlichen Apps verfügte, hab ich mich mal hingesetzt und meine gesamten Kilometer zusammengezählt die ich in diesem Jahr gelaufen bin. Es kam eine doch recht überraschende Zahl heraus wenn man berücksichtigt, dass ich erst im Mai wirklich begonnen habe Kilometer zu machen (im Mai waren‘s ca. 30 km mehr als Januar bis April zusammen...) Ladys and Gentleman.... Die 1000 km Marke wurde geknackt. In Summe waren es 1022,73 gelaufene Kilometer! In diesem Zuge gleich mal ein Jahreslaufziel für 2019 festsetzen... Ich dachte mir, ich übertreib‘s mal nicht und nehme mir 1800 km vor. Sollte ich dieses Ziel frühzeitig erreichen, kann ich ja immer noch nachlegen 😉 Wünsche alle nochmals einen guten Start ins neue Jahr, viel Glück und Gesundheit und das Ihr alles was ihr euch vorgenommen erreicht! ———————————

Ein allerletztes Mal für dieses Jahr packte ich heute meine Laufschuhe ein und machte mich gesundheitlich leicht angeschlagen auf den Weg zu meinem 13. Lauf in meiner ersten Laufsaison. Ziel war wieder mal der Münchner Olympiapark in dem heute der 35. Silvesterlauf stattfand. Von der Dienstags Laufcrew waren noch Conny und @ast.rid.s da. Nach dem Start zeichnete sich schnell ab dass Astrid und ich heute ungefähr gleich schnell unterwegs waren und so sind wir als Zweierteam bis in‘s Ziel gelaufen. Und jetzt allen einen guten Rutsch und einen tollen Start in‘s Jahr 2019! ———————————

Samstag Nachmittag, vorletzter Lauf des Jahres. Es ging heute wieder für 15,55 k

Samstag Nachmittag, vorletzter Lauf des Jahres. Es ging heute wieder für 15,55 km aufs Laufband und im Anschluss habe ich nach einer fast viermonatigen Pause auch mal wieder eine kleine Runde Krafttraining angehängt. Ich hab mal vorsichtshalber nur vorwiegend den Oberkörper trainiert, da ich nicht riskieren wollte, dass mir Muskelkater meinen letzten Lauf in diesem Jahr unnötig schwer macht 😉 Am Montag geht es dann beim Silvesterlauf noch ein letztes Mal 10 km durch den Münchner Olympiapark. Dann ist Schluss für heuer mit laufen und es kann ein Resümee gezogen werden... ———————————
