We took it very slow this morning. Little Essie slept all night (she needed a big catch up) and little Banjo kept mummy up from 12am - 2am. Normally my partner & I would take turns getting up but I am solo parenting whilst he’s away for work! 👩‍👧‍👦 With both of them sleeping in until 7 & 7.30am we started off with a nourishing breakfast of roast chicken & vegetables; went for a walk in nature which was lovely, playful & slow; ate raspberries and watered the tomatoes (and ate tomatoes 🙈)and had some fun with play dough. I made this batch about two months ago using brown rice flour, water, cream of tartar and hopper natural food colouring. Whilst they are sleeping I topped up the veg stand (see stories) and made roast chicken, quinoa, vegetable & feta muffins for lunch. I may be a wee exhausted but it is important to us that I keep all of us well nourished both mentally & pysically. So good nutrient dense food is number one, some yoga via chanting and just being mindful number two and three, well goes without any explanation......coffee 😂

We live close to the outdoor venue, so walked over and found a sweet spot where we could clearly hear the music and see the screens. I have always been a dancer. When music is playing I have to move. But because of pains after my operation last year, I had been unable to freely move for a long time. Until last night and it was the best! Dancing to me is like transporting joy all through my body. It's a freedom. So when you feel the urge, dance!!! Share the joy that is taking over.

I remember our first meeting clearly as I raised a particular passage in her recently published book and shared how much I liked it. The response I received was... 'That's not my book, that's Sheryl’s book'. ...In my excited state I had inadvertently got mixed up between the two books, both of which I had just read. It that moment time stood still, what would have been a millisecond, felt like at least 4 seconds, then someone else from the lunch group stepped in to talk with her. I thought I had missed my chance to make a good first impression and blown it. Considering my options, I took a couple of deeps breaths, then when the moment felt right, I went and sat down beside her and apologised up front, stating the reason for the mix up. In a mark of true leadership, Ariana touched my arm, looked me dead in the eye and said 'Darling, don't think a minute more of it. ..Now what I would like to hear about is your project.' I learnt a lot in that moment, and those words ‘darling, don’t think a minute more of it’ are something I’ve carried with me ever since. When we are forging new paths, meeting new people and putting ourselves in new situations trying to create positive change, there are moments where we might 'slip up'. A few weeks into this new year and it occurred to me that at some not-so-conscious level I am still relying on a new year, a new moon, or a new anything outside of myself to make life easier. And this week as I prepared my solar plexus class I kept hearing how instead of wishing for easy, how about I open up to the challenges. Because that’s where the personal growth and evolution is at. So instead of wishing for easy, I deepen into my practice of the last four months, twice daily meditation and navel intelligence kriyas and breathwork to activate my inner resources. Because as my teacher Anand Mehrotra says, “Challenges only have one function, to reveal to you what you are capable of. You are the source of your own experiences. Don’t give up your power to circumstances, to situations, to people around you. Let go of the tendency to give away your power by falling victim to circumstances. Be alert when situations change and you find stress arising in your body, in your being, to really draw back. This is an energy crisis, you are not experiencing your authentic power. So instead of giving up your power, harness your power. Learn to respond, not react. Align yourself back to accessing authentic power. I woke up today excited to attack life. That’s right. I mean at first I was super groggy, hair a mess, wondering what year it was, but after that first cup of coffee, I was HYPE. Why? Bc lately I been living the way I wanna and it makes me happy. I’m BECOMING the person I always SAID I wanted to be. I used to say that I wanted to be the girl who works out and takes care of herself, who doesn’t take her self worth from others opinions, and who dares to run towards her dreams... THEN I would let self doubt take over “you can’t do this, you’re not gonna work out bc it’s hard” “you care too much what others think to actually change” The minute I told my inner mean girl to shut tf up and stay in her lane, my mindset slowly shifted to my inner nice girl. 1st way to shut your inner mean girl up: TAKE ACTION when you’re tempted to not do something you know you should. 2nd way to keep her at bay: KEEP SHOWING UP FOR YOURSELF. Her taunts will turn to whispers, then finally she’ll be mute. 3rd way to keep her quiet: Shift your mindset from “I have to do this” to “I get to do this”, from “I can’t do this” to “I’m doing this”, from “I’m gonna fail” to “I am successful” and watch how you start to flourish. So yea, I was excited to wake up today, to tackle the things I know I need to do to be a better, happier, healthier version of me. Can you say the same? If you need a push, my inbox is open. ✨

We’re just as full nutrition information as we are of contradictions: - don’t eat saturated fat (unless is coconut oil OR you’re doing keto OR putting butter in your coffee) - don’t diet (unless you call it a lifestyle or only do it for 30 days) - don’t eat dessert (unless it’s labeled guilt-free) - don’t order what you actually want at a restaurant (unless you spend the first 10 minutes talking about how you “earned” it) - don’t believe everything you read on the internet (unless it’s backed by someone with a ton of followers) — There are double standards and information overload. It is our beliefs and perceptions of events that determine our level of stress. " In every situation I try to see the silver linings, gifts and blessings that come from them. I use to wish I could somehow time capsule forward pass my struggles and the things that stress me out. But for any of you who heard the fictitious story of the butterfly who spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings all because a boy decided to cut it loose from its struggle to release from its cocoon, you'll understand that struggling is an important part of any growth experience. In fact, it is the struggle that causes us to develop our ability to fly. Try seeing the event that's causing you stress from a similar angle, and see if it helps you to reduce your stress and give you less grey hair. / Here's to managing stress! Being BARE.. in today's society we end up wearing so many layers that have been passed onto us through expectations of others. What our lives "should" look like. In order to align with who we truly are we have to start shedding this conditioning we have received. As a quick test - think about the environment you live in, does it feel like you are writing you own life's story? Are you the lead character and making choices that make you feel ignited inside? Maybe you feel like an actor in a screenplay already written.. You have the ability at any point in time to be the creator of your own life. There are no limits to your creative ideas for your own life. The only difference between you & the people you idolise is that they actually did the things they were dreaming of.
