BLUE-TAILED BEE-EATER ~47/100~ The Blue-Tailed Bee-Eater is migratory bird. It migrates from northern India in the winters to the south and peninsular India. As the temperatures rise in the north again around summers, they return for their breeding season. Conservationists report a steadily declining population of these birds over the years, in all areas. It has gone from being spotted in flocks to a rare bird. Loss of habitat tops the list of reasons for the decline, a threat faced by most species all over the world. Like other species of Bee-Eaters, this is a vibrant and richly coloured species. This is among my favourite images from this winter, but it is dissatisfying to share a low resolution on Instagram. 😪 You can see a higher resolution on 500px.com/vedantsapra :D Mangalajodi, Orissa December 2018

Nature is the great painter no need to decorate it with out artificial things and emotions .... Only we can do is stop polluting our natural resources for our future. We are damaging nature as well as our income sources. We cannot survive without clean air, clean water, cultivated lands, higher temperature .... Live sustainable living and produce less pollution ... #jaiminbhatt#bethechange#iamchange#solvedifferent#globalgoals#youthunstoppable#youth4climate#climatechange#actonclimatechange#saturdaymorning#sustainableliving#sustainabledevelopment#naturalclick#skyporn#sunset#dusktime#sunset_captures#sunset_vision#sunset_photography#cleanwater#cleanair#naturalresources#tapansheth#conservationalphotography#professor#zerowastelifestyle#painting#naturepainter#colors#nature_colors

TICKELL'S BLUE FLYCATCHER ~46/100~ Taking a break from macro now and posting images of birds from Bangalore I photographed this winter. The bird is named after the British ornithologist, Samuel Tickell. Again, I'm always amazed at the amount of different species of birds found right on the outskirts of Bangalore city!

Greater flamingo This is the largest species of flamingo, averaging 110–150 cm (43–59 in) tall and weighing 2–4 kg (4.4–8.8 lb). The bird resides in mudflats and shallow coastal lagoons with salt water. Using its feet, the bird stirs up the mud, then sucks water through its bill and filters out small shrimp, seeds, blue-green algae, microscopic organisms, and mollusks. The greater flamingo feeds with its head down, and its upper jaw is movable and not rigidly fixed to its skull. #photographersofindia#photographers_of_india#oph#squadof4#dslrofficial#indianclicks#indianphotographyclub#canonasia#nategeohub#natgeo#nuts_about_birds#bestbirdshots#nategeowild#natgeoindia#birdsofindia#your_best_birds#EarthCapture#ig_discover_wildlife#soi#visionofpictures#rushabhhingwala#tapansheth#natureinfocus#sanctuaryasia#bbcearth

GREEN VINE SNAKE ~44/100~ The iconic snake from Western Ghats of India - the green vine snake! The distinct feature unique to the genus Ahaetulla, the horizontal pupils, are available in very few snake species. This snake is quite a slender animal, this individual being about 2cms wide in the body, and about 3cms wide across in the head. It is also mildly venomous, so keep safe distance if you see one. 'Mildly venomous' means the venom is only potent enough to kill small animals, not a Human. The effects would subside in a few days in case of Humans, but would be painful nonetheless. These are found commonly along most areas of the Western Ghats, even easily found in small towns around the Ghats. Image was captured early in the morning, dew drops can be seen around the eyes of the snake. This portrait of the head was created using a flash from the top, making the background black. No manipulation is required in creating black backgrounds, know your lighting and it will always look natural and impactful. For the love of black backgrounds 🙌

Unlike most of the National Parks in the country this park does not allow any vehicles inside the premises. Cycle rickshaws and cycles are the only mode of transportation..... The cycle rickshaw riders double up as guides. One of the most unique features of this park.... A must visit for all bird enthusiasts!! 😊 This was one of the misty mornings at the park. |SPIDER| There are over 35,000 different species of spider. The way to differentiate each species is through the number of eyes and its arrangement. This spider is commonly called the “Lynx spider” Family: Oxyopidae ( If you observe closely, you can find the hexagonal eye arrangement, as well as the dagger-like spines (called macrosetae) on their legs) . . . #spidersofinstagram#spiderfacts#animal#canon#reverseringmacro#shutterfever#photography#tapansheth
