This week I will be sharing 7 postures to strengthen the core muscles. I will be exploring variations of Navasana/ Boat Pose that will get intense and more challenging with every post. Add a twist to your boat pose to increase the intensity of your practice. Not only does it increase abdominal strength, It improves digestive function, detoxes the body, maintains normal spinal rotation, reduces back pain and de- stresses. Sit in sukhasana or samastithi and practice 10 rounds of deep breathing to activate the core before the practice. You can practice a few rounds of sun salutations or you can include this in your daily practice. Enjoy the fifth posture in the series! Include the previous four variations for a quick workout. #deadlift felt slow and off today as you can tell by my response to my top set at the end of the final clip. Volume was okay but switched back and forth between styles as my back felt a little on the tired side. 365 4x4, 405x1 and a messy 425x1. I am pumped though to have rebounded back into the 400’s as quickly as I did since my back went out a couple months ago. Intuitive eating is the most natural/biological way of eating. However, lots and tons of people have trouble with this. Why? Well, lots of reasons. So what can interfere with intuitive eating?- 😥 Emotions: They can wreak havoc on our hunger and fullness cues, from dumbing down hunger, to making you feel compelled to eat when you're not hungry. They also influence the food choices we make. Ever been upset and reached for something sweet without thinking about whether you were hungry? Most of us have.- 🙃 Distractions: Life happens. People have jobs, kids, pets, obligations, surprise things to do, etc. Sometimes when you feel hungry, there is no time to eat, and when you finally get the chance to eat, you scarf your food down as quickly as possible without taking any time to allow you to feel full until suddenly, you are stuffed. Sound familiar? It happens to a lot of people.- 🤐 Ignoring hunger: (Distractions often cause this) In the short-term, hunger will come on stronger later, and make you more likely to over eat or binge. In the long term, continuing to ignore hunger skews your natural/internal cues. You begin to feel hungry less often.- 🤤 Ignoring fullness: (Usually happens when we have a short time to eat and eat too fast) In the short term, you are going to be in pain from over eating. In the long term, continuing to ignore fullness skews your natural/internal cues. It begins to take more food for you to feel full, and you begin to associate pain with fullness.- 🤔 What does this have to do with circus? Quite honestly, everything! You're an athlete! You can't be skipping meals/snacks and then expect to perform well and have energy. In the same respect, you can't go around over stuffing yourself to the point of discomfort at each meal/snack and expect to feel great when you are in the air or upside down.- 🧐 So now that we know why our intuitive eater can become disrupted, how do we get back to it? More to come!- - PS- Throw back Thursday to two years ago when I was a clown and had a ponytail... and blue walls at a previous Aerial Horizon location 😜

Been listening to @huntfitness podcasts and in an episode it was mentioned that if you are entering the sport of powerlifting, throw short term out the window. This is a long term game. The ones always improving win. Anyways, top set of 2 with 115kg/253lbs RPE 7, backdowns with 102.5kg/225lbs 3x5. Also block pulls, 4x4 175kg/385lbs. @theswolefessor

I think sometimes people might judge those who post to social media frequently, like myself 😏as being full of pride. Although that may be the case for some other people, my goal is not to say, "oh look at me, look at how great I am." My goal and my mission is to convey what sobriety has done for me and how it has transformed my life. My goal, my hope, my mission is to inspire others who are struggling with addiction that they can do it too. From humiliation to humility. No matter how low you go, you can get better. Ate a meal on the floor? ➡️ Sitting is something many of us take for granted. Sitting isn’t inherently bad, it’s all about the DOSE and POSITION. ➡️ Sitting in chairs and on couches (typical ~90 degree sitting) for long periods of time each day is the big culprit for mobility restrictions and one of the main root causes of musculoskeletal dysfunction. 🔑 Replacing some of your time in the typical sitting position with sitting on the floor is a great way to naturally maintain mobility: • Sitting on the floor forces you to be dynamic and keep switching positions. • It makes you adapt to being able to actually spend time on the floor. Developing comfort on the floor requires time spent here to accommodate your body to it. • It forces you to utilize a wider variety of positions - especially hip positions. • It allows you to explore some passive hip mobility drills without even thinking about it. For instance, the 9090 position, bear sit, and cross legged position are all examples of hip mobilizations that are easy to accomplish if you are already down there. ✅ Start slowly. Replace some couch or chair sitting with some floor sitting. She reminded that with my work ethic it will come and that I shouldn't rush it and if I just enjoy the process and have fun doing it , it will come a lot sooner than I think. - - Even on crappy days I've never been so confident on bench press. Heres some close grip with 315lbs. I know my foundation is so solid right now but for the next couple weeks its just about making bigger and stronger. I believe most of us who have had a big weight gain over a short period of time,
I believe most of us who have had a big weight gain over a short period of time, can relate how hard it can be to love yourself through your journey back to health. It is worth the struggle. I still tell myself on bad days about my flaws, and I taught myself to quickly stop any negative thought patterns about myself. This trick works in relation to health, or just life in general. In a harsh world it’s okay to be different, look within yourself.. find the good, and project that outward. The other day I spoke with a little girl who claimed her eyes weren’t beautiful because they weren’t blue. I explained to her my daughter has brown eyes that are so beautiful, and there’s even a song called “brown eyed girl”. I hope we all can teach this generation junior to us that there’s not one definition of what beauty looks like. . Personally, I have my set goals and it’s been a journey for me reaching them. I have improved on so many levels and that’s what keeps me going. I can move better, I feel less pain, and I am crushing my goals. That is what is beautiful in this life.
