Fueling the engine. Brown rice and mixed vegetables. Lots of carbohydrates to keep me going throughout the day while training, coaching and instructing classes. I often get into debates regarding the whole plant based and meat eating arguments. Arguments for the meat eating population will often cite that our evolution came about by eating meat which helped develop our brains, and allowed us to become the developed species we are today. But simple physiology will highlight that humans are predominantly herbivores. We can’t tear flesh by hand, our hands are designed to pick fruit and vegetables, we do not have the canine teeth meat eating animals have, our jaws work in a grinding motion aimed at eating nuts, and our intensities are long , carnivores have short intestines so that they can get rid of all the rotting flesh that was eaten. Some suggestion is that we were perhaps omnivores, because we eat meat today. We may have eaten as scavengers when certain food sources were low, but our physiology resembles more that to the great apes that eat lots of fruit and vegetables. So , the rise in chronic illness today may be because of food choices that do not benefit our physiology. #plantbased#plantbaseddiet#vegan#vegetarian#herbivore#physiology#human#history#science#plantscure

Been craving a giant "southwestern" style salad for a few days now so I prepped a few. A buttload of veggies & beans on spinach. "Taco" seasoned tempeh, will add 🥑 & sunflower seeds tomorrow. Salsa for dressing. I've been counting my calories and fats and all that jazz and realized I'm frankly just not eating even close to enough. I've always eaten like a "bunny" as my dad would say, not much and very little. But I also wasn't exercising at all and drinking a FUCK TON of alcohol. Now I actually need to fuel my body, healthily. "cheese" toast - [vegan cheese on whole grain bread with caramelized onions & kale] . ideal for take away 🥪🧀🌱 . vegan cheese: - 40 gr cashews, soaked - 125 ml water - 2 tbsp tapioka - 1 clove garlic - 3 tsp salt - 1 tbsp lemon juice - 1 tsp turmeric Blend all ingredients together in a blender. Pour into a small pan and cook for 4 min, stirring constantly, until mixture becomes very thick and stretchy like melted diairy cheese. . caramelized onions & kale: - 2 onions, diced - 100 gr kale, chopped - 2 tbsp maple syrup Heat the oil in the pan and stir-fry the onions and kale for 3-4 minutes. Add the maple syrup and stir-fry for another 2 minutes. . Cover the bread with cheese and onions/kale and toast at 200 degrees until golden brown in the oven. I'm not going to go into the actual *cough* health benefits *cough* of eating your bananas when they are spotty and beginning their fermentation journey because I have talked about that time and time again and you probably won't take any notice of me - so yes, I won't talk about how they are easier to digest due to the resistant starch turning into simple sugars, or how their antioxidant levels increase, or how they are much more effective at warding off cancerous tumours or anything like that - I'll just cut it short and shout about HOW BLOODY GOOD A RIPENDED NANOO TASTES 👏🏻 I have been (literally just had to crack my kuckles from how pumped I am getting thinking about banooz wtf) LOVING bananas lately, and when I say lately I mean for as long as I can remember because honestly when haven't I been chugging along the banana railway? 🍌 🚆 My mornings aways start with multiple soft skinned, leopard printed, aromatic, sweet and mushy bananas and it gets 👏🏻 me 👏🏻 set 👏🏻 up 👏🏻 for 👏🏻 the 👏🏻 gruelling 👏🏻 day 👏🏻 ahead 👏🏻 and best part is that NANOOZ ARE SO CHEAP!! YOU CAN WALK INTO YOUR LOCAL FROOT SHOP AND JUST NAB A FOUR BUCK 4 KILO BOX FROM THE SPECIAL ROTTING FROOTZ SECTION (often - not always - produce depending) BUT EVEN WHEN PAYING FULL PRICE THEY ARE AN AFFORDABLE OPTION. AM I RIGHT STUDENTS OR AM I RIGHT WITH A NANA COIN ON TOP? Honestly the world would be a worse place without these classic gems. Probably the most delicious burger I’ve ever tasted. 🌱 1 potato 3 small mushrooms 4-5 garlic cloves or powder 1 egg Flour vegetable oil / or olive oil salt & pepper Vegan cheese / or regular cheese. - once your potato is boiled and soft, go ahead and mash your potato. Add your egg, your flour, and your seasoning. Go ahead and mix it all together. Make your patty and place it in your pan with a bit of olive oil or vegetable oil. Now if you did this right, your patty shouldn’t fall apart in the pan. You just need to cook each side for about 4 minutes on medium. Once your patty is close to done, place your cheese on there. When all done, go ahead and place your patty on your bun😏. Now I added sautéed mushrooms because I love them. You can now add whatever you’d like. Tomatoes, onions, and lettuce.

I have been focusing lately more on Cleansing by using specific fruits in the morning & herbal teas afterward before having my morning Cacao raspberry smoothie - What I’ve noticed by having my lemon water + nettle leaf tea before my smoothie, right after waking up- is that my energy is MUCH more elevated and my skin... is clearing up BEAUTIFULLY! I had terrible deep, purple cystic acne prior to going Plant Based Vegan going on 7 years ago now. So it’s healing scarring as well as stress/hormone related acne - It’s a blend of the hydration from the tea and lemon water which gets the blood flowing and helps eliminate waste. It’s also a blend of the astringent properties of the lemon that helps our bodies produce more fluids which helps the body cleanse itself more rapidly. ALONG with the practice of being MINDFUL - I believe that in order to heal, we must have FAITH in the treatment that we are giving ourselves and create a vision of optimal health - Here are some of the benefits of lemons 🍋 that I wanted to share👇🏽 - Lemons are antibacterial and antiseptic in nature. {resistant starch} Have you heard this⬆️ term before? Ever since I learned about it a few years ago I have implemented it in our diets. It’s as simple as cooking and cooling a potato! Resistant starch is not digested in the stomach or small intestine. It “resists” being digested so : ▪️you don’t have a spike in blood sugar or insulin ▪️you don’t obtain significant calories ▪️it becomes a probiotic which feeds the good bacteria in your gut. How to turn a regular old potato into a resistant starch: 🥔cook a potato however you like 🥔once cooled, put it in the refrigerator overnight 🥔the next day, re-heat it or cook it any way you like. 660 GALLONS OF WATER. . That’s how much it takes to produce one single hamburger. This is the equivalent of roughly two months worth of showers just to put it into perspective. This isn’t something you can just brush off as an out of sight out of mind issue. This isn’t something we can afford to continue doing all because “it tastes too good to stop”. . While you may have the luxury of just being able to use water in your home and buy fresh water to drink this isn’t the case for nearly 2.1 billion other people on this planet and the undeniable truth is animal consumption is making worse. We’re draining our fresh water aquifers at an alarming rate and animal agriculture is a leading cause of it. . The good news? They’re are DELICIOUS alternatives to meat that exist!! Even if you give up 1/3 of the meat you eat you’d still be making a major difference. This isn’t some vegan hippie (despite my shirt bahaha) propaganda y’all - it’s real fucking life and we have a responsibility to our planet and future generations to DO BETTER. Here is diet principles l follow for successful fat loss . * First thing in the morning-WATER 💧 Recently l started adding 1 lemon and tea sp of apple cider vinegar Hydration most important for me, l drink about 2-2.5 l water every day Urine should be clear ! If it has any color means you dehydrated and need to drink more water * Then freshly squeezed green or citrus juices ( only 1 glass ) * Later when hungry I eat fruits or smoothies ( l listed to my body and eat when l hungry and l eat fruits ONLY in the morning as much as l feel like specially water based fruits * I place my carbs before training ! I love oats and its best source of carbs before training for me ! 60 min before run or gym * If I'm hungry after gym before dinner I'll have whole grain piece of bread with steamed green beans and avocado, l never get bored with this combo 😋😁 * And dinner time l make raw or steamed veggies, salads, Thai or curry style with 150-200g chicken or fish. * No carbs at dinner time and diner 6pm or latest 7pm * I like to feel light but l don't starve * Very simple, unprocessed or minimal processed, easy to digest meals, l don't eat carbs and protein together as l find its hard to digest for me * Key to learn listen to your body and eat only when you hungry! * I drink water BEFORE my meals and in between meals, NEVER straight after meal, minimum 45-60min after meal. * Fruits ONLY in the morning as later can give you bloating and gas 💨😏 * NEVER eat fruits after l had protein or carbs ! Believe me its bad idea! 😃fruits very easily digests, which protein and carbs stays in our digestion track much longer, when you eat fruits after you had meat or bread it will cause indigestion, bloating, gas aches and pains! That's why fruits on empty stomach only first in the morning * That's what work for me ! More often than not we decide on a meal purely based on familar qualities i.e tasty. This would be like choosing a soulmate based on attributes familiar to us. This is not being cautious at all, this is us too comfortable in our comfort zone not wanting to challenge ourselves; staying put instead and pushing away opportunities for growth. Aspiring life to look better and healthier demands that one start paying close attention to their overall lifestyle and making the necessary filtrations leading up to one's own personal health progress. Because what you are familiar with isn't going to make you grow, but it will make you stagnant. In the absence of growth, life cannot be healthy. Be cautious, familar isn't always healthy. So today I am starting off my favorite cooking/baking season with Super Moist Pumpkin Bnndt cake.. ****Cake recipe in the next post . . ** pumpkin puree 1.)Cut off top of pumpkin 2.) Cut pumpkin in half 3.) Scoop out seeds & pulp – save seeds for roasting if you’d like! 4.) Cut 2 pumpkin halves in half again, and continue until you have 8-16 small pieces  5.)Place pumpkin pieces face up or down on baking sheet.  No oil needed. 6.) Roast in oven on 375° for 45 min or until lightly browned. 7.)Remove pumpkin from oven and let cool so it’s comfortable to touch. 8.) Peel skin off, being careful not to waste any of the precious pumpkin! 9.) Add peeled pumpkin pieces to food processor and pulse until it becomes a smooth puree. 10.) Been on such a muffin kick lately! Sorry for posting two in a row 🙈 but you know at the end of the day when you just want to gorge yourself in everything sweet? Yup, these do it for me.. every.. single.. time 👌 & they’re nutrient dense so it’s just a win-win 🙃 ... Ingredients: 3 over ripe bananas 3 organic @vitalfarms pasteurized eggs 1/2 cup @artisanaorganics peanut, almond, cashew, or sun butter (I’ve made these with all four & each time they’re amazing) 1 cup @bobsredmill almond flour 1/2 cup @bobsredmill hazelnut flour (or more almond flour. I just like the taste this gives) 2 tbsp maple syrup 2 tbsp coconut sugar 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 tsp each baking powder 1 tsp cinnamon (optional!) Pinch of pink sea salt As many dark @eatingevolved chopped chocolate chips as you’d like! Mix all wet ingredients (including maple syrup & coconut sugar). In separate bowl combine dry ingredients. Whisk or sif t dry ingredients. Add slowly to wet ingredients & be sure to not overmix. Fold in chocolate chunks. Spray mini loaf pan (or large loaf pan just adjust timing) & bake 350 for 15-20 minuets. They always vary.
