Setbacks happen to everyone! Do not let a setback become an excuse for derailing your fitness and health. I have had numerous setbacks from almost having my leg amputated (a story for another time) to crushing my face. In this picture, I am running a 5K three days after being involved in a bike crash and face planting into a pothole. I lost six teeth requiring implants, crushed my upper jaw requiring a bone graft, severed my lip requiring plastic surgery, and suffered severe facial lacerations. I was in pain yes and had to reduce my workout intensity and frequency but that did not mean stopping. You continue to push through with whatever you can do to maintain your health, accelerate healing, improve quality of life and functionality. When knocked down, get back up and keep stepping forward. Fight! Monday was Day 1 of my new workout program @transform_20 BUT Monday was also a traveling day for us as we came to Tampa for our @eatsleeprvrepeat YouTube channel for the RV Super Show. . Do you think that because I was away from home, at a hotel, without my step that I said "Oh, I'll start when I get back home"? No! No, I did not! . Do you think that because I was on my feet, literally walking all morning, afternoon and night on Tuesday and Wednesday that I returned to my hotel room and said "I'm exhausted, walking was enough for today"? No! No, I did not! . I pushed through with all those obstacles in addition to being so soar that everything from waking to sitting literally hurt. . I am so grateful that my gym, my workout, my trainer is accessible from anywhere! As long as I have my phone, a tablet, my laptop, or even a smart tv I can access my program and put my butt to work ANYWHERE! . Day 3 of 42 Me and this one piece of equipment for 6 weeks and ONLY 20min a day. Are kicking some butt these pass 3 days. Some of today’s moves were crazy and idk how I did it. Just being 5-10min of this workout and it really has me sweating up a storm. But I’m loving it and and I have NO doubt I’ll will accomplish this workout. I be honest I never complained a Shaun T workout. I always seem to quit on the 2nd month of insanity. I was doing so great in December on the 2nd month of insanity but life hit me hard and I had just a few weeks to pack up a whole house to myself with a toddler so I ended up quitting. Well this year is full of new beginnings and new journeys. War nicht zum aushalten 🙈 ab morgen darf ich dann auch wieder den Rücken trainieren 💪🏼 . . Heute ist für mich dann ein doch recht langer Tag nach dem Frühdienst gehts in die Schule und anschließend mit meiner besseren Hälfte @_jessssiii ins Beintraining 🦵🏼❤️ Vermutlich freue ich mich in dem Fall mehr als sie 😁💪🏼 . . So I know the picture on the right is blurry (couldn’t get the image full size so when I zoomed in it got pixilated 🤦🏻‍♀️) but here is the crazy thing. One is pre baby and the other is post. If you know me you’ll know that the one on the right is me 3 days ago at 6 months postpartum! The one on the left is from 2 summers ago. Alright here is where it gets even more nuts. In the picture on the right I was working out 6 days a week, 2-3 hours a day, eating what I thought was healthy and looked like that. The picture on the right is 6 months postpartum, working out 5 days a week for 30 minutes to an hour max, eating my @rpstrength diet template. This BLEW MY MIND!!! You do not have to spend hours in the gym (unless you want to) and you do not need to eat like a crazy person or no carbs. Let me tell you I eat all the carbs! Here are some major things I have learned over the years of coaching and training. • • • 1. Quality vs quantity of your workout. If you work as hard as you can in your workouts you can be in and out in 30 minutes to an hour and still see huge results. If you spend hours on end not giving the highest quality work you probably won’t see the results you want. Make your time spent in the gym matter. 30 minutes of giving you all vs hours of mediocre will always win! 2. Don’t follow the fad diets! I have tried it all paleo, whole 30, gluten free, the list goes on and on. There is science that has been proven for weight loss and muscle gain. Do your research, go read up on what @rpstrength is all about. I am not saying any of those are wrong but before you starve yourself of carbs and all sweets read up! Also, you can have things in moderation don’t go crazy. Have a slice of cake not the whole thing. 3. There is no excuse good enough. I look better now after having a child. Why? Because I chose to put the work in every day. I chose to learn and have knowledge about my body, what I eat, the way I workout, and I chose to work my butt off. Whether you have an injury, had a baby, are overweight there is no excuse good enough. There are people working out in wheelchairs, missing an arm, with heart conditions, etc. Stop making excuses and get moving!

Today's gym flow. #c25k: Week 7, Day 1 had me jogging for TWENTY-FIVE minutes, plus the 5 minute warm-up and cool down. (for my reference: 1 mile at 15:02, 2 miles at 29:45 and at completion of 35 minutes, a total of 2.3 miles). Getting stronger! 😁😁😁 Plus, some #spinning for 4.88 miles in 20 minutes (increased the intensity level there also). Day 15, talk about exhausted. Went in joking “Gonna take it easy today, ‘feelin it’ from yesterday.” 3 routes in and I decide to jump on this new 5.11+ I got pumped, messed up the rope, missed a clip and overall just got stressed. Physically and mentally frustrated. And it’s what was needed! 2 minutes later I got to moving and we finished 4 more routes clean after, all 10s and up. Climbing isn’t always pretty, and failure is a huge part of the process, but never downgrade yourself. Keep it fun out there!

With two parents who always made me feel loved and supported and encouraged, I have little insight into what made me want to be SMALLER in life....perhaps it steps from the desire to fit in, to be less noticeable, to stay out of the ever feared target of a class bully. . But what I know is that focusing on being less and smaller NEVER ended in feeling happy. . So remind your children to TAKE UP SPACE. To kindly share their passions and opinions, to be bigger and stronger and faster, to laugh MORE, breathe deeper and spread their wings. . It's day 2 of my Transform 6 week TEST GROUP and THIS is my focus today.
