ALL THE SAME WEIGHT . AUG ‘17 - AUG ‘18 - JAN ’18 . 1.5 years and a lot more than just my shape has changed, weight has remained the same through body recomposition, loosing fat and building muscle. The scales is only a unit a measure and that’s simply all it is. . Nutrition plays a major role in any fitness journey and implementation is key. I’ve been able to achieve a lot with the little nutrition info I have so I cannot wait to learn more on the @macnutrition course soon 🙌🏻

Finally, the end of the day, whew 😅. Do you ever get anxiety ridden when you wake up thinking about your to do list? Honestly when I look back at my day, I have no idea how I did it all. All I know is that each moment that was spent at whatever task was at hand, I gave it 100%. My advice first is do one thing at a time🙌🏼. Then whatever role you are in, be it a mom, wife, friend, athlete, boss...be present in that moment without distraction. Give that task (or person) all your attention and focus. Accomplish what you need to, then move on to your next role. Don’t be all over the place...that’s how things don’t get done. As for myself, I love being productive so even my sleep needs to be. Creatine supplementation: I took creatine when training in Brazil (ignore the weird face), with some positive and some negative side effects. Creatine is a compound which occurs naturally in the body, helping to produce energy for the muscles to use during short, intense bouts of exercise. It is mainly stored in our muscles and is predominantly produced by the liver and kidneys, however some is required from our diet. As it is largely found in meat, vegetarians and vegans may have lower resting concentrations. It is widely accepted that supplementation can increase muscle creatine uptake, which is linked to improved performance. Positives: 1) May amplify the results of a resistance training programme, increasing strength and muscle mass. 2) Can improve the benefits of high intensity cardiovascular training. 3) Can improve cell signalling, to aid recovery. Negatives: 1) As it will cause muscles to draw in water, insufficient intake of water may cause dehydration. 2) High doses of creatine can harm the kidneys. 3) Can cause stomach pain, cramping and nausea. Guidance: The suggested loading amount, to saturate the muscles, is 0.3 g/kg of body mass per day, split into 5 intakes (for an 80kg male, this would be 4.8g, 5 times per day), for 5-7 days. To sustain this, the protocol should be maintained but at between 0.03-0.1g/kg (about 10-30% of the loading phase). Creatine can often be found in protein shakes, which could confuse things, so a creatine-free protein shake and separate creatine supplement may be better.
