My brain was trying to frantically claw it's way out of my head. My mind was screaming and screeching. I had random crying spells and anxiety attacks. . Sometimes I woke up soaked in sweat because I was nervous even while I slept. And I did not sleep very much. Imagine trying to sleep with the tv on and it only played loud annoying commercials. That is what my brain felt like. . This mind torture went on for years. The worst part was that I was blatantly aware of the irrationality of my anxiety. Outside my mind, my life was relatively calm and quiet. . This anxiety was a symptom of Lyme disease. I had chronic Lyme disease for ten years. Once I was finally able to treat it, the anxiety went away. My mind is finally full of God's peace and I can sleep soundly !😃 ❤ How has Lyme disease affected your mental health? Please share in the comments to spread awareness that Lyme causes mental issues! 💚 (For more on my lyme treatments, see link in bio) . . . #spoonie#chronicillness#lymedisease#mentalhealth#anxiety#lyme#mentalhealthawareness#faithoverfear#jesusheals#lymediseaseawareness

#murdered friend #abusivehusband#lymedisease ... it took me a while (almost five years) to realise the tightening in my chest, the sleepless nights, the constant headache and pains were all telling me I needed to grieve. For my loss of innocence, my loss of a relationship, my loss of a beautiful friend, the loss of my health. Each day I learn more and more about the importance of #selfcare and want others to know if you are worried about being seen as weak or selfish by taking time to do you, don’t. No matter what you’ve been handed in life you are brave and you are enough. 💕

in case you missed my stories yesterday, i’m feeling so hopeful after my first physical therapy session with a PT who specializes in ehlers danlos syndrome ☺️ my body is worse shape than i realized (shocking right?) but i’m really excited to start moving forward. she also told me that my neck is definitely unstable, so i’m starting to take steps to get that further evaluated. ps i’m also obsessed with these leggings so i’m glad i have extra motivation to wear them now! 🌟

Detox day! It is still so incredible to me to see how different they all look from each other every week. My son tends to get a bit sleepy during his and then is crazy energized later in the day. I am assuming he probably feels a similar thing to what I experience. I tend to get really tired and brain foggy during treatment, and then feel lighter and clearer for days after. Finally home now. Going to just chill the rest of the day. I have a mound of clean laundry that needs to be folded and food that I need to meal prep! Happy Saturday everyone! 💚💚💚 #lymewarrior#lymedisease#thechallenge#babesia#candida#glutenfreelifestyle#paleomom#dancemom#skimom#socialworker#kidsfood#walkonthebeach#bellybuttonpiercing#pawpatrol#brownhairdontcare#beachmom#capecodlife#spoonielife#mealprepmadeeasy#momlifebelike#momlifeisthebest#unitedkingdom🇬🇧#todayistheday#cleaneatingforlife#canada🍁#newenglandlife#healingjourney#gettingmylifeback#lymemom#detoxwater

3 things I do every weekend to set myself up for success: - 1. Rest. I always have at least half of one of the weekend days where I’m totally chillaxing, not thinking or talking about work or to-dos, and letting my body/mind rest. - 2. Map it out. I look ahead for the upcoming week. I schedule in workouts, meals, breaks, errands, appointments. - 3. Set intentions. I’m a goals person. I love setting “goals” or “intentions” for the week ahead so I have a very specific thing I’m working toward. It can even simply be “drink 10 glasses of water every day!” Keep it simple, work up habits, and be consistent 🙌🏻💙 - Do you guys do this to? What’s one thing you do every weekend!?

This body of mine! Oh what it has gone through over these past 4 years! 1 year
This body of mine! Oh what it has gone through over these past 4 years! 1 year ago I took a total leap of faith. I decided to become a coach! WTH! The person who had been so sick over the previous 3 years, that I barely worked out at all, decided to pick up a part time job as a coach. Must have been the Lyme brain! Well I will forever be grateful for that Lyme brain decision. One of the best I have ever made. This journey game me something new to focus on, instead of focusing on being sick. It gave me a reason to show up for myself every single day. It gave me a reason to focus on personal development and to let go of fear. And as the weeks went by, I began to realize that it was giving me back my life. As I showed up each and every day, my symptoms started to shift. As I worked on having a positive mindset, my perspective began to shift. I began to heal mind, body and soul. Take a look at these photos. Really look at them. The photos from today are of somebody who is 90% better than I was in the first photo. You can literally see how much stronger my body is and you can see in my eyes how much better I feel. I want this for each and every one of you. Even if you don't have Lyme, you can improve your life by putting yourself first. I have a new group starting on the 30th, and I want you to commit to you and join in! I will be your accountability partner and help you move through this process. If I can do this, anyone can do this. Lyme and Babesiosis might have stolen 3 years of my life, but that ended the second I made the decision to shift my focus. 1 year down, the rest of my life to go!!!!! Here's the link for my next group! https://m.facebook.com/groups/1817804611847382/?ref=page_internal #lymewarrior#lymedisease#thechallenge#transformation#results#glutenfreelifestyle#paleomom#dancemom#beforeandafter#socialworker#kidsfood#walkonthebeach#bellybuttonpiercing#pawpatrol#brownhairdontcare#beachmom#capecodlife#spoonielife#mealprepmadeeasy#momlifebelike#momlifeisthebest#unitedkingdom🇬🇧#todayistheday#cleaneatingforlife#canada🍁#newenglandlife#healingjourney#gettingmylifeback#lymemom#chocolate🍫

I’ve had people reach out asking for help and I’ve decided to regularly post different natural remedies I’ve used to help my Lyme 👉 There are a lot of helpful supplements, foods, herbs, and various things I have used that have helped along the way, and I will never remember all of them to list at once, so I’d rather post one at a time and give more detail. So follow me to learn about holistic Lyme help!! 💚 This stuff is amazing to help with neurological symptoms and herxing! • Herxing is what happens when you experience worsening of symptoms during treatment, it’s from the toxins that are released while the bacteria is being killed off..do not give up! It gets better! • B+P to put it simply, helps to cleanse the brain and nervous system of toxins, and helps reduce inflammation • To use 👉 10-12 drops in a cup or two of tea temperature water. Let it sit for a minute then drink. You can drink this a few times a day while your symptoms are really bad . . . . #lyme#lymedisease#lymewarrior#lymeadvocate#lymediseaseawareness#lymedontkillmyvibe#lymeawareness#chronicillness#chronicillnessawareness#chronicillnesswarrior#brainfog#holistichealth#holistichealing#holisticmedicine#holisticnutrition#holisticnutritionist#nutritionist#plantmedicine#naturalhealing#naturalmedicine#burbur#pinella#nutramedix

I’ve been crap at posting but I wanted to give you all an update. I’m on week 3 of this herx. My wisdom tooth is all healed and I stopped having any pain from it for about a week and a half. I do have an area on my tongue that is still numb unfortunately. I’ve been doing everything that I can to shake this herx, but it’s not budging! I’m exhausted, weak, shaky and in a lot of pain. This is the worst I have felt in a few years. I was doing so well in March and April, so to have my health so miserable right now is very discouraging and mentally and physically hard for me to deal with. I feel as if I have taken 10 steps back and fell into a hole with no way out. When I feel awful I become distant as I don’t have the mental energy nor the physical strength to scroll through insta. I’m really struggling to put out my YouTube videos at the moment, and for the time being will only be posting once a week as I just don’t have the energy to edit. Hopefully things will turn around for me soon 💚 #ChronicLyme#LymeDisease#Bartonella#Herxing#LateStageLymeDisease#LymeDontKillMyVibe#LymeWarrior

These two things give my body a boost when I start dragging mid-morning or late afternoon. Generally, a healthy lifestyle should provide enough steady energy for the day but, when my body is sleep-deprived going on 9.5 months thanks to my beautiful daughter and fighting against Lyme disease and mercury toxicity ... I’m definitely operating at a deficit. A healthy diet helps but, oftentimes a healing journey requires more. This post is specifically geared towards DNRS people out there! 😁 So, I’m very lucky that I have such an amazing group of people I am still connected with from my DNRS in-person seminar! We are always chatting and learning from each other, and staying in contact and keeping each other accountable. Today during our group Skype hangout, one of them mentioned using sounds during their rounds. Like waves, if your memory is at the beach. I wrote that down so I wouldn’t forget, and then just now I finished two rounds with sound! The first was listening to pouring rain, with thunder booming, while I was going through an old memory of walking through a storm with my mom, and the second sound I did was waves for a memory at the beach. And both times I kept the same sound for my future visualization, and just made the visualization fit with the sound. It was SO fun! I was able to get SO much more into the rounds!! Lately I’ve been struggling more, because I’ve hit the three month mark, and I’m tired of my memories, both past and future. I keep adding new ones, but still...lots of reusing the same old ones. It’s hard to get into them after so many uses. But this completely changed it up! I was able to get into the memory SO much more!! It was awesome!! I felt like I was back there, as a little kid, going on a walk in the rain! Usually I do my rounds quietly, but still out loud. This time I did them silently in my head, which I had never done before. I loved it. 🤗 Highly recommend trying out sound in your rounds! Now I have to go through and find cool sounds to use, and come up with new future visualizations that match the sounds! 😂

One of the best ways to improve your #guthealth is to consume fermented foods and a variety of them! . I'm in the kitchen today making up a bunch of new ferments (carrots, dilly beans, gluten free sourdough starter, coconut water kefir, kombucha, and water kefir ... More details coming in my #instastory ... It's all about them good bugs over here!) . Generally, I've always made kombucha in half gallon glass jars, a batch at a time. Today I took the leap and started a continuous kombucha brew. Super easy and I'm excited to be able to keep up with our crazy thirst for it! Kombucha is an ancient fermented tea that is loaded with benefits for you: I personally love the good it does your digestive system, how it helps you detox, and all the B vitamins and antioxidants. I drink 1-2 8 oz glasses each and every day, and I notice a difference in how I feel if I don't! Do you make your own fermented foods, and what's your favorite? ❤ . . . #getinmybelly#yummydoesnthavetohurtthetummy#selfcaresaturday

This rarely goes on sale so I thought I’d share! I did my #23andme last year and didn’t think I got a ton from it. But I got a second opinion a few weeks back and man was I wrong. I had run my results through genetic genie last year and my doc said nothing to worry about. Completely contrary to that my new doc said I #methylate at 50% and absorb b12 and D at 50% as well 😱 which makes complete sense because I’ve been treated for both vitamin deficiencies in the past. Keep digging if you’re not getting better! Also this makes me a “typical Lyme patient” as per my doc 🙋🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ #lymeisreal#lymewarrior#lymedisease#genetics#genetictesting#methylation

So, why do we need awareness, anyway? From disability rights to LGBTQ to cystic fibrosis, you can find a multitude of social media posts dedicated to exposing life behind closed doors for those who identify with any particular experience or diagnosis. This In and of itself, however, I don't believe would prompt the mobilization of people to voice strongly their experiences. Instead, I believe that the chorus of voices like mine speak out in the name of being silenced. When human rights to justice, equal opportunity, freedom, respect and dignity are usurped, sometimes the only thing left to do is talk about it. I'll talk about it, talk about it, until we all thrive under a paradigm of love, acceptance and irrefutable equality. • • • #chronicillnessawareness#socialjustice#gastroparesis#cysticfibrosis#multiplesclerosis#ebv#ehlersdanlossyndrome#lupus#scleroderma#leukemia#selfempowerment#survivor#lymedisease#tbi#musculardystrophy#cfs#mecfs#fibromyalgia#aids#spoonielife#anemia#neuropathy#cerebralpalsy#crohns#type1diabetes#endometriosis#cdiff#healthcare

Have you ever been grateful to be able to get down on your hands and knees to wash the floor? To get out of bed, get dressed on your own, make your children breakfast, take a shower unassisted, and parent like a parent should be able to? Most of us move through our day without even a thought about those simple life acts. I am thankful I can function again, work full time, parent my children, my husband can work just 1 single job, I can run a household. Do I still struggle sometimes? Sure do. I have damage from being sick for so very long. But I am choosing to look at the positives and be grateful for floor cleaning day and the fact I can actually get down on my hands and knees and clean it like so many of my lovely friends cannot do. #grateful#thankful#chronicillness#lyme#mcas

Since my illness started in 2013 I have taken curcumin or turmeric every day. Curcumin is the active constituent inside of turmeric root. It is a powerful natural anti-inflammatory with virtually no side effects (if you take really high doses your palms and soles could turn orange!) I take Thornes brand Meriva because it’s been 3rd party tested for purity and is supposed to be of the most bioactive on the market. I can definitely say that for me, this supplement helps with pain and is something I’ll probably never get rid of. I wasn’t sure if it was working a few months back so I stopped taking it for a month and noticed a difference. It’s one tool in the #lymedisease arsenal. #lyme#lymewarrior#lymeawareness#lymedontkillmyvibe#fucklyme#tickborneillness#meriva#curcumin#turmeric

THIS 🙌 • It’s officially been four days that I’ve been suffering with this horrific GP flare, unable to keep anything down ☹️. • I was meant to be going to a friends dinner party this evening, catching up with lots of friends I haven’t seen in a while. It’s so frustrating having to cancel but I know I’m listening to my body, and let’s face it, I can’t really fight through the sickness at a party anyway! 🤷🏻‍♀️ • You may have seen I went out for dinner last night which didn’t last long at all, I wasn’t doing too badly and suddenly took a horrible turn and had to be carried home... I took a doggy bag of my food and attempted to have it for lunch, but it didn’t stay down 😪. • Just to add more salt to my wounds.. I’ve also been suffering with one of the worst migraines in quite some time, and had to take my sumatriptan injection, which I really try to avoid as the side effects aren’t pleasant!. • So, I shall continue napping (dreaming of sushi) and sipping on my hot water with ginger and lemon and watch some trash tv on the sofa 🛋 📺 • • • #thehopefulchronic#chronicmigraines#eds#words#bodycare#body#chronicillness

Help protect yourself and your family from #tick bites by reducing the number of ticks in your yard 🏡 ➖ Try these landscaping tips: 🍃Remove leaf litter 🌾Clear tall grasses and brush around homes and at the edge of lawns 📏Place a 3-ft wide barrier of wood chips or gravel between lawns and wooded areas to restrict tick migration into recreational areas ✂️Mow the lawn frequently 🐿Stack wood neatly and in a dry area (discourages rodents) 🌳Keep playground equipment, decks, and patios away from yard edges and trees 🦌Discourage unwelcome animals (such as deer, raccoons, and stray dogs) from entering your yard by constructing fences 🗑Remove old furniture, mattresses, or trash from the yard that may give ticks a place to hide ➖ Prevention is always best 👍 . . I upped to six sprays each day last week and I feel better than I have in over two years. Today is my fourth day of feeling great. I will be reordering this product. This chef takes naps!!! She also teaches tango, makes art, and manages a major autoimmune disorder called Lyme. This disease has taught me to love myself like nobody’s business. I dice an onion and lie down. I practice 20 mins of tango and lie down. I lie down and then I lie down somewhere else. I get less done but at least I can do some. Love this reminder by @themintmo!! It’s so easy to get angry with ourselves that we aren’t “there yet.” Not skinny enough, not beautiful enough, not healthy enough.. it becomes our self-focused obsession in the name of a “healthy lifestyle.” Part of true healing is embracing the journey, both the hard parts and the high parts. The beauty is in the walk and it is NOT a race to the finish line. 🌹 Our obligation when we come out of our trial is to actively seek opportunities to help others who struggle in the same way - hence, the launching of my blog! "If you believe, sometimes unbelievable things are possibe." 😍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ (At the end of last year I wanted to end my life because I could literally do nothing anymore and I didn't want to go on like this. This time last year I had just about reached hospital after my seizure (was unconscious for 40 minutes) I had no idea what day it was, that I’d seen my grandparents that day or anything. Was pretty scary. It’s been one heck of a year since, to say the least. I’m on extremely high doses of 4 different types of anti seizure meds thanks to my American specialists, but I still have had a lot of close calls. One of them being last Tuesday in London, because I am so fragile from the damage the last seizure done to my brain (sorry if this doesn’t make much sense). Anyway back off to America very soon, I’m hoping they are going to sort me out because I can’t keep on like this. I’ve not improved one bit in a year, although most of that was trying to stabilise me so I was strong enough for treatment. But still, I need a lot more help. Would help if “specialists” over here would help out and be supportive, but I live in England so no chance of that. I’ve been trying to avoid IV antibiotics for many reasons, partly because I don’t believe I am strong enough for it. But it’s looking like I’m going to have to go down this route unfortunately. Either way I still need to raise lots for my scans and tests etc that aren’t available on the NHS (even in this country 🙄) so any help that can be given and shares etc are much appreciated. Sorry to ask again. Thank you so much to everyone who have helped me with shares and donations already! You guys know who you are! 😘 lots of love xx (link in bio too)🌎 https://www.gofundme.com/sarahschroniclymediseasefight

Hi all, I’m sorry there hasn’t been a update for some time (to those who have been wondering). I have been very unwell, there’s still no improvement and after a extremely long day in London Tuesday, I have been diagnosed with something else...Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS). I need a LOT of tests and see a lot of specialists, he said I’m extremely sick...(like I didn’t know that, ha!). One important test costing £1800! Which cannot be done on NHS, it’s only done privately in two places in the whole country, London and Manchester. But is essential I get it done because I may need surgery to fix the problem if something shows up, this could be life changing for me in some ways (neck pain and neurological wise). He also wants me to see a new POTS specialist privately - understanding of EDS etc, but he said once I’ve seen him I can then go to a specialist clinic (all on the nhs) for 2-3 weeks in London to be assessed, get treatment for something... I can’t remember what exactly (not Lyme related) but still it was all to try help me, I’m still exhausted and it’s all a bit of a blur. He just kept saying, wow you have a lot wrong, gosh you have a lot and seemed shocked how many problems I had and how much I needed fixing. Especially for my age. Anyway this is all on top of Lyme treatment we have to pay for, for Mum and I. We also go back to America to see our specialists very soon. So any help you can give is much appreciated, thank you so much. (I hope this makes sense, not in a good way and extremely fatigued) My Lyme specialist mentioned if I were to have EDS it’ll make treating Lyme even more complicated. So I really need to try raise as much money as possible. Anything you can do to share this page so I can try to raise as much money as possible is much appreciated. Many thanks and thank you so much to those who have helped me and donated so far! Anyone can donate anywhere in the world 🌎 Link to my fundraiser is in bio also 😊 Sarah x https://www.gofundme.com/sarahschroniclymediseasefight

***Hi all, this post is a little different to my usual. As some of you know I’ve been very sick for a very long time now so have set up a fundraising page to try help with the costs. It’s already cost us tens of thousands and we still have a very long way to go. I don’t like to ask for help but would really appreciate if you would have a look at my page and share it with as many people as you can so I can try to raise as much money as I can. Anyone in the world can donate. Would mean so much to me. Please find the link in my bio (my main page 😊) Thank you!!! 💚😘*** www.gofundme.com/sarahschroniclymediseasefight

How many of you know what Lyme disease is? And how easy it is to get? And that it is life threatening? I’ve been on a very long road to recovery due to being left untreated for so many years. Since 2015 I’ve had to travel from England to America many times and I have much more to come. Since the seizure I’ve worsened significantly and may need long term IV treatment. Be Lyme aware, it destroys lives, it costs more than you could ever imagine and left untreated can prove fatal. Please be Lyme aware. Thanks for reading 😊💚
