A wall, a camera, a man in Zanzibar. There was a little factoid a few years ago about how, in that year alone, more photos had been taken than ever before on earth. We imagine that, as smartphones have become more and more common around the world, each year beats itself in terms of numbers of pixels produced. Why do you take photos when you travel? Is it to document a place or create memories for when you're older? Is it the way you uncover somewhere new or more about fun snapshots with friends? Do you ever look at photos afterwards, or is it more about getting the best shots for your Instagram feed? As this is our job now, we pretty much always have to be taking photos wherever we go but, thankfully, we absolutely love it and through our lens is our very favourite way to travel. Our camera isn't (most of the time) a barrier to interaction, but a way to tame a wild and strange city, to frame it and capture a little bit of it for us (and for you). We'd love to know why you photograph and how you photograph on your travels - and what's the one thing you wish you could do better with your camera? #zanzibar#GWanderers#GAdventures#TheConstantlyCurious ____ #StayandWander#ExploreToCreate#MyTinyAtlas#IChoseToWander#LetsGoEverywhere#PhotographyEveryday#LetsGoSomewhere#liveforthestory#PassionPassport#NeverStopExploring#finditliveit#momentsofmine#lifewelltravelled#cntraveler#welivetoexplore#theglobewanderer#traveldeeper#travelawesome#welltravelled#agameoftones#opentheworld#lifewelltravelled#stonetown#WonderfulTanzania#neverstopexploring#tanzania
The bus conductor Driving through large parts of Africa these last few weeks meant we had less time out on the streets with our cameras than we normally would, so we had to adapt a little. This shot, for example, was taken just as Emily had purchased three bottles of Malawian hot sauce (to test and compare for the purposes of science you see) and we were hanging out with most of our group on the bus in the supermarket car park. Men were trying to sell bracelets through the window, it was hot, and there was a fantastic soundtrack of local music being played somewhere in the distance. This guy had already struck us as photogenic (a toothpick always helps too) and, as soon as he stuck his head out the window, we felt it was a photo worth taking. A man in a bus, taken through our bus window. The thing about street photography for us is that the subject, wherever they're from in the world, would crack a smile when they saw the image we created. That they would like how we've framed them, they'd like how they look and what that moment in time represents. That it would create empathy. We think he'd like it. #GWanderers#GAdventures#TheConstantlyCurious ___ #StayandWander#ExploreToCreate#MyTinyAtlas#IChoseToWander#RoamThePlanet#ThisIsAfrica#AfricaAmazing#IG_Africa#LetsGoEverywhere#PhotographyEveryday#LetsGoSomewhere#TravelStoke#StreetPhotographers#liveforthestory#Storyofthestreet#PassionPassport#NeverStopExploring#finditliveit#natgeoyourshot#peopleoftheworld#momentsofmine#lifewelltravelled#cntraveler#welivetoexplore
It began in Africa... The past three weeks have been so utterly surreal, mesmerising, adventurous, captivating, educational and wonderful that it almost feels like we've just woken up from a dream. We have seen elephants in the wild. We have visited five new countries. We have had conversations we won't forget. We have witnessed some of Africa at its finest. We have travelled along miles and miles of dusty roads. We have had sunset swims in the Indian Ocean and sweatily clambered to a waterfall in Malawi. We have camped for the longest period ever in our lives, in both sun, rain and lightning storms. We have challenged our misconceptions and learned about parts of the world we knew very little. We have seen the positive economic impact tourism can bring to communities and individuals. We have risen before sunrise and spent long days on a purple bus to bring us to storybook lands. We have tasted pineapple purchased from the side of the road and shared campfire beers with new friends under Serengeti starlight. We have taken thousands of photos and our first steps towards what will hopefully be an enduring travel affair with Africa. We had many hopes about our @GAdventures 21-day tour from Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe to Nairobi, Kenya - and they were pretty much all surpassed. Over the next couple of weeks we can't wait to share some of our favourite photos and stories from our adventure with you. p.s. we've missed you guys!! #GWanderers#Tanzania#TheConstantlyCurious ___ #girlswhotravel#sheisnotlost#wearetravelgirls#dametraveler#womenwhoexplore#shewhowanders#femmetravel#passionpassport#girlsborntotravel#lifewelltravelled#theglobewanderer#travelandlife#cntraveler#mytinyatlas#GAdventures#finditliveit#darlingescapes#forahappymoment#visualsoflife#letsgoeverywhere#openmyworld#ig_africa#loves_africa#WonderfulTanzania#ThisIsAfrica#AfricaAmazing#ad
A tropical paradise! Loved the colours of Sri Lanka and being barefoot so often is my idea of heaven. Packed way too many shoes for the trip! All I needed were loose, flowy prints like this co-ord from @littlewoodsirl which I was able to mix and matching with denim shorts and bikinis. Lesson learned - I’ll be writing a summer holiday packing guide, stay tuned 👙🕶👡 #myvbyvery#sp The top and skirt are linked in my story!
When it seems like the giraffes have planned a photo shoot... ___ When choosing our first @GAdventures tour, we knew we wanted an adventure. And we wanted to take our first steps in countries hitherto unknown to both of us. The choice was clear - Africa. We wanted to see elephants the way they should be - wildly roaming, happy and free. We wanted to travel along dusty roads in search of a pride of lions basking in the shade of tree. We wanted to camp under a giant sky and listen to nothing but the sound of nature (or, as it turned out, farting hippos!). And we wanted to understand a little better, a region which is so often misunderstood. We found the perfect tour. We've only been here for five days and already we've witnessed the spectacular Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, roaring at the end of the rainy season. We've experienced two incredible Zambian safaris and taken countless photos of animals we'd known only through David Attenborough. We've shared conversations which have opened our eyes, and we've caught a glimpse of a part of the world which we already know we will revisit. We have another two weeks, and countless experiences that will amaze and inspire ahead of us. And frankly, we can't wait. #TheConstantlyCurious#GWanderers#Ad#Zambia ___ #GAdventures#ig_africa#loves_africa#forahappymoment#exploretocreate#earthpix#ourplanetdaily#lifeofadventure#naturelover#neverstopexploring#welivetoexplore#mytinyatlas#roamtheplanet#planetdiscovery#theglobewanderer#travelstoke#exploringtheglobe#flashesofdelight#theoutbound#passionpassport#liveadventurously#africanamazing#everydayafrica#explorezambia#wildography#africaamazing
Cost me €1.30 to rent this board for an hour. Used it for approximately 14 minutes. I didn’t even bother with a lesson this time, my third attempt at surfing ....and the first one not off the west coast of Ireland. I’m just not a surfer girl! At least I got to rock my Ali Express though 😆🤷🏻♀️🏄🏽♀️ If you want to see what this @gadventures sailing trip in Sri Lanka is like, I’ve pinned the highlights on my feed! #gadventures#gwanderers#sp 📸: @coolaid1516
I’m not one to seek “off the beaten track”, in fact I hate the term....but just have a look at my Insta story from today 🤷🏻♀️ We’re anchored at a very small fishing village on the south coast of Sri Lanka and bar the fishermen whose net we “helped” pull in (they may be small, but they are strong 💪🏽) and the locals crammed into a boat taking photos of us as I showered off the back of our catamaran, there was no one else in sight along the beach. Absolute bliss! The chef on board our @gadventures sailing trip made pizza for us tonight, worrying we might be getting sick of traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry 🍛🍕 While I don’t think that’ll ever happen, I had to laugh that we didn’t use any cutlery, when it’s actually the local food we should be eating with our hands 🤷🏻♀️ What’s your favourite place to travel for the food? I think I might’ve find mine 🇱🇰 Swimsuit tagged in stories 👙 #gadventures#gwanderers#sp
