It's important because sometimes we get so wrapped up in our bodyweight, and the number we see on the scale, that we forget about all the little things that we are doing or experiencing every single day that are equally as important. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Even as coaches - we only use the scale as one form of measurement out of many to see how things are going. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So what are some examples of NSVs? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - Eating less of something you know will throw you off track. For some this might mean less peanut butter on your spoon, having a few pieces of candy instead of the whole box or bar, or enjoying a treat while you're out without feeling the need to join the clean plate club. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - Clothes fitting differently, or even shoes/boots. Maybe your favorite shirt is starting to fit a little better or you've noticed that you need to pull your belt just a little tighter - both of these are awesome signs of progress that have nothing to do with a scale. In fact, the scale might not change at all but one of these might happen. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - You're more comfortable saying "no" in social settings. It can be hard to turn a friend down for that second drink or dessert when you're out and about, or at a party, and saying "no" sometimes makes us feel guilty (even though it shouldn't). So if you've started to notice that you're naturally able to say no, without feeling bad or even feeling proud, that's a huge win. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Those are just a few out of hundreds of different NSVs that you might experience. Had a full on breakdown today and just could not function at all and was just really struggling with what I want to do with my life but I just kind of gathered my shit, went to the gym, and made some life changes and I felt so relieved and hopeful after that. My problems arent going to go away but I think I have found a new path that will lead me to being a much happier hooman. Did another 10 minute emom of 5 squats but this week even heavier at 64%(160lbs)
