This relief effort by our south FL community has been just astounding! We have had our own private armada of boats and planes constantly to and from the Bahamas for the past 10 days. Thousands volunteering on the ground here and there. All private money. All cooperating. You know what’s missing? Politics. No one that’s doing any work on the ground cares about politics. It’s not a topic during missions. No one is asking your political affiliation before loading supplies. But you know what is discussed? Helping. Listening. Serving. Protecting. Mobilizing. Why? Because, in these moments, our community only cares about taking care of their neighbors. Period. It’s not pretty. Somewhat messy and disorganized but, man, is it a beautiful, life-giving time in our county. These are the moments that define us! Thank you and keep it up- Sean (ps 📷of our friends daughter from @cocoacoffeehouse circa ‘17)
So I don't ask for money ever . . . but I am today. The trip we organized with the cruise ship last week was the very start. This relief effort is a marathon. We have the opportunity to have the ship at our disposal for the next 30 days . . . it will cost us $1 million. That's nothing compared to the impact we could have with it! First trip we brought back 1100 evacuees. There are so many more! This ship would be able to carry tons of supplies, trained laborers and food. We have connections on the ground and nothing goes to waste. It gets distributed when we dock. (Nothing will sit there like the news is reporting.) The boat would go back and forth between Freeport and West Palm Beach every other day. The situation is dire but we can do something about it! $500k has been pledged in the last 24 hours but we need another $500k in the next 48 hrs to secure the ship. The community outpouring of support has been amazing! I'm part of the organizational team. I ask that you trust me in this. Visit the website below but contact me if you could give more than $1k. Much love- Sean Link in bio.
